Obama to make another speech tonight-open thread!

It is expected that he will make excuses for Muslim terrorism. Tell us the real danger is that Muslims will be subject to "bullying." Threaten to arrest American citizens who exercise their first amendment rights. Promulgate new executive orders in defiance of Congress to implement gun control and possible confiscation if the New York Times has anything to say about it. Demand that criminals be released and the police back off and let them find the space to riot.

Oh and to continue to import terrorists and murderers from Muslim countries. Not just regular terrorist but female terrorists who can come in with a visa without being questioned if they are coming to marry some jihadist who has already got here and just needed a partner to start shooting.

All you Hillary voters should be coming in your pants.

Let me know what you think.

I hope Barry doesn't show his pique at us for disappointing him again.

Thirteen more months. There will be many more horrific attacks. There will be rivers of blood. There will be the hurried importation of more Muslims.

Survival. Survival is a higher value than the peaceful transfer of power. That's why I hope there's a General out there planning a coup. Because that's what we need now -- a coup.

I never listen to him. Cannot tolerate the smug condescension. I don't expect anything new from him. He won't call it for what it is: Islamic terrorism. Look for two phrases "wrong side of history" and "that's not who we are," both of which will be directed at Americans, not the evil monsters behind this and planning the next attack.

We will likely all be Muslim or martyred within the next generation.

I am more concerned with what the Republican candidates have to say about the bullshit that this idiot is trying to sell.

Are they going to play nice or are they going to go for the jugular?

I am looking at you Rubio and Cruz?

I already know what the Donald thinks.

...but that's beside the point. Obama only cares about defeating his enemies. People who didn't vote for him.

Obama hates us.

Making a speech is pretty much the only thing he does so this is a big night for him. Someone should calculate how much he gets paid per word.

Amartel said...

How many stock phrases will be deployed?
"That's not the United States of America I know" (let in everybody)
"If we save just one life" (gun banning)
How many fake stats will be cited?
How many straw men sacrificed for the greater good?

If he says anything new, let me know.

They had the pilot for "SWAT" on one of the cable channels this afternoon. Hadn't seen it in 40 years, but it probably had more to say about what's happening than Pissy will.

Are you serious? He'll issue his Nero Decree tonight.

He says he'll be live-tweeting through it.

The Donald is going to troll Obama so hard that George Will is going to have a stroke.

Good times.

His last speech he said global warming so bad fish were swimming in the streets of Miami. Back on his meds or still swimming in the streets? Tune in and find out.

At least if he finds Nemo he can get into the country without a visa or what not.

I predict he won't make a 180 from declaring the greatest threat is Climate Change. He won't acknowledge that the "no-fly-list" didn't prevent Malik, or her husband, from flying, nor would it have prevented them from purchasing arms. It wouldn't have stopped Holmes either, but Holmes will get the President's attention. And despite his AG's concern about anti-Muslim backlash, it simply is not a major problem in the US. Oh, we will still get refugees without a vetting process.

He might ask Congress for a formal declaration of war with ISIS, but likely in an backhanded way of saying that we can't stop ISIS because Congress hasn't declared war.

And the "left". I can't say that term enough.

I've never listened to a whole Obama speech. He's even duller than Clinton or Bush I or II.

Why listen when you can speed read through the transcript in 5 minutes - tops?

rcocean said...

If Trump in nominated, he will destroy Hillary with non-stop attacks. It would reduce George Will to tears.

Won't be hard.

PS Kudos on the tags, they get ever more imaginative.

I know you know everything about everything but people in New York can not talk about their fondness for the second amendment. Especially someone in NYC.

You see Cuomo wants a list of every gun and every gun owner so they know where to go to confiscate them. Some Law enforcement people in rural counties refused to comply but Kings county is not one of them. So it is best to fly under the radar on that one.

Just so you know cupcake.

Insty nails it in USA Today, stray voltage. We must speak of gun control for we cannot speak of Obama's serial failures that lead to require busting a move on 2nd amendment Constitutional rights.

Allowing only a few seconds one's ears are aggressively assaulted before ever reaching the brain for processing, I'm blaming the bastards at FOX for having clips of him so often and for turning up the treble to maximum when they do so that Obama's congenital undiagnosed speech impediment is maximized, his hissing sibilants are exaggerated so much it sounds like Harry Potter speaking Slitherine to the snake. Okay, graying philosophic president person, break it on down for us, you got 10 good solid seconds.

"You ssssssssssee we abssssssssssssolutely musssssssssst passsssssssssss sssssssssssssssensssssssssssssssible gun control meassssssssssssssssssssuressssssssssssssssssssss" *click* I lied. Given ten seconds, completely blew it in four.

And Ace, "We know what he'll say because he always says the same things; his mind is a cramped prison of ideological zeal, and he's a dull-minded, lazy man besides."

Ha ha.

Buster, move!

I want to observe from a safe distance the face of his Party end up looking like Syed Farook in the street.

Selling more NRA memberships, selling more guns than any other American president in history and those are numerical facts. Thanks, O.

But I cannot allow this pixie-prick to dominate my thoughts. I resent it because I know that's what the man wants, a national discussion. I want to deny it, but if it must be had then I want him to loose it for being antagonistic and and always antagonistic not being uniting and never being uniting. So, thoughts I can control. I can control that flow and deny the life-giving energy to that channel demanding constant refreshing.

Think of it as a Jedi trick.

There are actually multiple competing thoughts and endeavors with varying degrees of urgency. Here's one that is random.

The Kate Bush interview had me thinking about the women's appreciation for things I don't think about. How one woman described her love for Bush's creativity and its expression. Bush's son, Bernie, turned thirteen and Kate being a sound-oriented and singing musical experimental type woman understood her son's voice will change and the thought of her son's voice being temporary reminded her somehow of a snowflake and there went Kate Bush off the deep end.

The woman describing Bernie singing the high notes with drama, "I AM SKYYYYYYYYYYYYY!" with the power of a man's voice but higher than soprano, honest to God it truly is a powerful sound. Suddenly I understood.

The woman made me understand. I could never think this up myself. I could never appreciate this on my own. I need this explained.

I played that understanding the whole thing, that voice will be gone, and it is so powerful it sent chills up my body and suddenly I understood the entire thing about castrati and I suddenly understood why all those people in all those schools were so strongly interested in having us sing. Every school I went to had us in choir, and it wasn't until our voices broke that nonsense stopped.

The had us sing the stupidest fucking songs.

The whole way through. If we had a mum like Kate Bush we'd have understood what the big dealio is.

Snowflake. That's Bernie singing, not Kate Bush. A fan made a video for it, much appreciated on YouTube. The commenters there freak me out by being so completely in love with every little bit of it and so completely devoted.

How's that for mind control, eh?

Well that was a pitiful effort. For a guy who's celebrated for being the full on red hot orator. No oceans receded this night.

Most of my extended family lives on the east coast or in Chicago.
Other than the ones with military background guns are icky and/or foreign objects to them.
Why would anyone need a gun in their house? They just don't understand.
Blue State USA.
Somewhat the same goes for urban California where I now live. It's not quite the same since these are still islands in a sea of gun toters. Every now and then I drop in a gun reference in conversation to shake things up. It's fun to freak out the squares.
