Or perhaps, "Speedbumps" for 1,000, Alex.
I cannot find the Jeopardy category, but the actual $1,000 Jeopardy! answer was:
"The city in which Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed."
And the question, of course, was "What is Benghazi?"
In which we see how quickly on ABC controversy damaging to Party goes from National scandal to $1,000 trivia question. Credit to them for mentioning it at all, a first for some of their viewers.
Twitchy here and here.

Does Trebek control the questions?
I doubt it.

I take it that the degree of difficulty is suppose to increase the higher the wager. The $1,000 answers, being the highest wagers could only mean the show gurus believe the trivia to be more obscure than the previous answers in that category.
I would like to know what was considered less difficult than "Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed in an attack on the US Consulate in this Libyan City" for the category in which that answer appeared.
Btw... Its not the first time the game show pulls facts and figures from current events, or near current events for the game show.
I used to ride to work with a fan of the show. I recall him mentioning that to me in more than one occasion.
It's ALL a game-show to 50% of the population. Why is anyone surprised, shocked or outraged in the land of American Idol and Keeping Up with the Kardashians?
Mea culpa--that 50% figure is obviously WAAAY low..
Jeopardy is written by leftist a-holes.
Trebek just reads what his leftwing betters give him. These are the same leftwing tyrants who control all of these major corporate ABC-CBS-NBC pro-democrat networks-- the propaganda trickles down from on high. I read somewhere that Trebek is conservative. He's lucky to have a job.
Screw you Trebek!!!
Maybe there is a closet conservative who put the question in there, as in "You ought to know this, but it's been covered up so much it's not an easy question."
That was a question on the show back in November, the 8th I think. Too bad it was two days after the election.
