pop quiz: spot the clue the guy is hipster bell end

huffingtonpost photo It's the guy holding the red "thanks tea-tards" sign. It is unclear what he is thanking them for, government shutdown, I suppose.

Fashion has the serious purpose of advertising self saying, "Hey, this is how I handle this climate situation with a plum." A plum scarf. Here's the thing: t-shirts worn as single outer shirt announce the weather is too hot for a collared shirt. Other cultures have taken other approaches to warm weather light cotton shirts, but in the US, due to the convergence of jeans and t-shirts, and tie-dye hippies and cowboys, and bikers without causes, and so many quintessentially American types, the t-shirt prevailed, now printed graphically as daringly large tattoos. Contrasting sharply in purpose to that, long wrapping scarfs that wrap the neck multiple times are warm weather accessories. It is not a summer thing. Perhaps sandstorm-related, or camel-related.

It is wearing a Michelin tire puffy parka and short pants with slippers.

It says, "I'm hipster. And my neck is hot."

I could strike up a pleasant conversation with this guy in an instant. I do every day.

That's a scarf? Dang. Was hoping it was a boa constrictor.

Guess the Grimace Quiz

I got 8 out 11.

Obama was the easiest.

His sign should read:

"I hate tax payers and ordinary US citizens who dare question the wisdom of Queen Nancy and King Obama. I hate you I hate you I hate you. Tea-Tards."

or

"Haul all tea-tards to the ovens!"

It's in his heart.

You meant to type "camera-related."

Just remember to remind everyone in the coming times of anguished surprise at what has happened to their health care.

Just ask them "Where were you when the Tea Party tried to save your sorry ass from this?" They warned you every step of the way, but you got exactly what you insisted on, so shut up asshole, and pay those premiums and those annual deductibles that could buy you decent used car, and wait, wait, wait for your appointment. And oh yea, shut up about your kid waiting for their treatment, they have an idiot for a parent, that's just the way it goes. We call it "fairness".
