Sessions: Current plan gives Obama "blank check" on immigration, Syrian refugees

"As currently written, this year's appropriations bills – which will be combined into a catch-all 'omnibus' by December 11th – amount to a blank check for the president to carry out his refugee resettlement plans," he said in a statement.
"Not only will the president be allowed to bring in the 85,000 refugees he has announced on top of current record immigration levels, but this will include at least 10,000 refugees from Syria who will subsequently be able to bring in their foreign relatives. All refugees are eligible for lifetime government assistance and can draw funds from Social Security and Medicare at Americans' expense. More than 90 percent of recent Middle Eastern refugees are on welfare. And they are on a fast-track to becoming voting U.S. citizens," added the senator.
The immigration and Syrian refugee plan have faced criticism from lawmakers and GOP governors and could become a flashpoint during voting. As a result, it could result in a government shutdown if the funding isn't cut, according to congressional sources.

McCain wants to send 20000 us troops to Syria and resettle 100,000 Syrians in the USA.

Invade the world, invite the world - Maybe Bush or Rubio can run on that slogan.

These fuckers have no shame. They will ruin you for their gain.

You can use that as a slogan too.

Ugh.

That means "How do you do this fine morning brightly lit by the sun?" in the language of the Yahi, one of the many lost native American Indian tribes. Kidding. It means "That's disgusting" in present day English.

Wow, the person outside cannot parallel park and they have plenty of space to fit. One simple lesson will fix that forever. Just one simple trick. That's all.

The trick requires you get physical and throw your right arm over the back of the seat as if busting a move on a date at the drive in. This facilitates looking over your shoulder for you must physically turn your neck and point your eyeballs backwards and look through the back glass.

Nothing short of full commitment will do.

None of this lame-@ss "oh I can't do that, I have a bad back" bull doo hickey. If that is the case then quit driving!

The rest is all technical positioning. The person did not do any of this, they tried to dive right in and failed. Too bad for them. Now they don't get parking close to the museum.

You learn this in driving school.

Driving classes occur in High Schools across the land.

What went wrong?

Let's forget this person and I'll tell you something else better than all this. More charming.

Last night it was colder than a witch's ... um ... pointed nose whilst traveling across the North Pole without her balaclava.

I realized I must run an errand before the shop closes or all is lost for the night. I have 45 minutes to put on my shoes and a coat grab things and dash. I decide walking is better than driving even though it is colder than a witch's nose.

Immediately in front of the shop a large dark vee-hickle slams into parking, a woman leaps out and dashes directly in front of me into the shop. She too is in a hurry. Now she's ahead for service. I follow inside. We do our separate things. I leave first.

Before leaving a short exchange with the clerk I receive instructions to be careful. I agree it is dangerous especially for me. There is ice all over the place and I cannot see it. It's a challenge.

A quarter block behind me, the woman's voice, "Sir! May I offer you a drive to wherever you are going?"

!

I don't even know the woman. We never met. She has no idea I'm only walking a block and a half. It could be a mile or more for all she knows out of her way. I thought that was extraordinary.

You see, the world out there is looking after its little dummkopfs. People take it upon themselves to access situations and take responsibility for poor decisions of others. Like me and mine. Isn't that sweet? Oh, I told the guy inside the little hood thing on my jacket really works. He goes, "Wut?" I go, to keep the heat in, and showed like a candle with sound effects of roman candle heat going off the top of my head. So the woman saw me put the hood up and so not frightened of the man under it who acts silly imitating a roman candle. Maybe she noticed that. Maybe that was part of her decision. You must admit she made a dangerous decision for a woman in offering a ride to wherever to a strange man.

Well, since we can't do anything about the invasion of our country let's talk about parking. Actually I give people a lot of leeway when it comes to parallel parking because it is a fairly tricky maneuver. And since most aren't going to take the trouble to practice....The way drivers enter parking lots on the other hand I find maddening. The supermarket I frequent is huge and has a huge parking lot. Half the time it's half empty. But at other times it is full to the point where you have to circle round to find a spot. What's maddening is that even when it's full there are drivers, many drivers, who drive in at thirty miles an hour. Think of it: there are folks walking toward the store, there are those coming out of the store holding bags or pushing carts, there are excited children completely oblivious to danger who sometimes get away from Mommy and scoot everywhere. You'd think that would occur to the morons who barge into the lot at thirty miles an hour, when ten miles an hour is a little too fast considering not only the concentrated human activity but also the other cars entering, leaving, backing out of their own parking spaces. Oh well.

The bad me: F*ck the Syrians. Let Jordan, and the rest of the ME absorb them. I live among Arab Muslims and none of of my neighbors (Lebanese, Iraqi, & Yemeni) have said they like the idea of Syrians moving in to the hood. Why? Just because, that's why. This isn't immigration, it is invasion. Screw them all.

Let them move, if they must, to the neighborhood where Obama lives. I find him comical when he pontificates about the courage in Paris for the Climate Summit...no less than a Brigade of armed solders are protecting his butt and all the others in Paris. Ain't no Brigade where I live.

My cynicism is growing by the minute. I'm beginning to like it. Me bad...too bad.

Nobody actually likes Syrians.
I'm sure there's some anecdotal evidence that a Syrian was decent to someone once.
Photos or it didn't happen.

None of this surprises anyone.

Nor should it.

Methadras ... yes I live in east Dearborn (the heavily Arab part) and we still have Christian Arabs among us. I'm pretty sure they have a unique church among the 7 on "Church Row" along with the largest Mosque in the USA....and 5 other widely different Christian denominations. (I'd have to go check to see if that has changed...not likely, heck we even have a tiny "Primitive Baptist" church right here too. Really a far more mixed community than pundits like to say....don't believe everything that you read about Dearborn.

Our ratio of Christian Churches, of some denomination or another, to Mosques is still about 5:1. Just in my neighborhood, the most Muslim part, there are 4 Catholic Churches with 2.0 miles radius or less....two within easy walking distance. One of those others is more Mexican than anything else, and that is the one I attend (on the border of Detroit)....the children make it a great place to relax and worship (poorly as I do yet!) ....and the Priest, my best friend, always includes all of the kids in his services, all right up there on the altar....to the chagrin of some die hards, but to the joy of their Mexican parents. Heck, he even used my late dog "Ari" in his services with the kids...some die hards gasped when ole "Ari" would stroll out from the Sacristy, on command, to join the children, but I loved it...and so did the kids. Those Christians and Muslims who've moved out seem to go to Sterling Heights, rather than Southfield. The majority have remained right here....like me.

I deeply appreciate my entrepreneurial and hard working neighbors, of whatever faith...they saved us from becoming a ghetto extension of far west Detroit, only a couple hundred yards from my house. Even that part of Detroit is benefiting. Those who flee an area do no building or sustainment and leave rubble....better they be gone than remain. Soon enough they will again depart and leave rubble wherever they are now. I've lived in some of the worst parts of Detroit, especially during college (worked full time days and attended night school...money ran out for full time day school) and even then I found some really good people around me among the dolts. If you try, you can always find good, even great people, to associate with, almost anywhere.

To be clear, my cynicism regarding Syrians is more due to fatigue than prejudice...that, and I don't know any that I can think of off hand....while I know hundreds of Lebanese, Iraqis, and Yemenis. Fatigue with the Middle East's perpetual issues and tribal inclinations. My neighbors have some tribal instincts, too...but to date haven't decided to kill over them...most just argue loudly and then go back to getting along. My greatest fatigue is due to what appears to be the impossibility of people to see good in others where ever they are...and I've lived in Asia, some of it rather hostile, and here and found not a lot of difference if you just try. You have to try. I hold my highest esteem for those of us who really do make the effort. A few old South Vietnamese military who remain in touch with me remind me that we have a lot in common, if we try.

The governor of the state where I grew up was a Syrian Christian. Vic Atiyeh. Rug guy made good. Excellent governor though now, of course, he'd take advantage of his good fortune and become a Democrat and a Scoldilocks.

My Syrian aversion has to do with an incident on a plane where a bunch of them traveling as a group decided they wanted my seat and I had to move. They didn't even ask, much less ask politely. They ordered, and when I didn't comply they screamed, and when I still didn't comply they dumped/threw their carry on luggage at me. Fucking ogres. (I didn't move.)
Also I knew Syrian attorney who was particularly vile, even for an attorney. I guess Vic Atiyeh should balance all that out but it still leaves a bad taste.

Aridog said...

Amartel ... your experience with Syrians on that plane would leave me with the same feelings and impression. I respect the simple fact you refused to move...especially if not asked politely.

I guess I'm fortunate to not know any Syrians, that I know of, however are they all crazy? I'd guess not, but that'd be just a "guess." I'll stick to my aversion, simply because I can. I think I am all done learning about new people from places that are always in riot. I'm not comfortable with that attitude, but it is what it is...a cynical disposition. I like my neighbors and just don't want new additions that might fight with my neighbors.
