Gruber and friends in summary

This video is trending. It is disjointed. Meaningless without first having the full context that you all do have. So, good satire then for those with the details but meaningless to willfully blind partisan supporters.

Even so, disconnected drips and drabs as it is, lifted from surrounding context and placed for sharp contrast and with ridiculous unserious music it is in the style loyal Democrats so full of themselves and their own sense of meta-comprehension, their sense of being above it all to the point of looking down upon the sorry bathos presented, it does align with the style used by the writers of Jon Stewart, he being their foremost source of information. They are just this smart. And they hold you to be thick and slow. So here it is, in their own style.

Particularly delicious is Pelosi. Apart from her two tremendous skills -- serially duping self-righeous San Franciscan liberals and sniffing out money --  this really is how we see her in complete form, by her own halted babbling.

Gruber Uber Troo:

"Clever...you know... piece of exploitation of the lack of economic understanding of the American voter."

hmmm - what part of the electorate is he talking about?

Most excellent indeed. Firing up e-mail.

Last I heard only one network out of the big three has carried this story.

Maybe they are too embarrassed to having to admit complicity, gullibility or a lack of curiosity.

But to say the media wasn't curious about what the hell Obamacare really was is tantamount to a kind of Gruberim.

Gruberism: (groo-buhr-izm) Noun. An act of transparent arrogance or stupidity, often associated with accidentally exposing a political deception on videotape.

By reporting Gruber the press also exposes their own failure to do what they say they are supposed to do.

Dust Bunny Queen said...

We are also being Grubered on Global Warming or Climate Change or whatever the latest euphemism is for that con game.

The latest thing we are too stupid to see with our own eyes. We must be controlled for our own good.

Aridog said...

Wait! What? I just heard about this.

The new boilerplate for White House responses when caught with grubby hand in the cookie jar.

You see, all y'all must stay on the narrative du jour...and that is immigration reform by fiat! Pay attention peoples! No more talk of this recent mid-term elections, no more talk about Obamacare, Fast & Furious, IRS, et al ad nauseum.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

Check that... we are down to one network not covering the Gruber story.

"ABC World News Finally Covers Gruber as NBC Newscast Continues to Ignore"

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

I don't watch network news, like Obama I get my news from the newspapers ;)

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

DBQ is right.

I only imagine how many Grubers are there gorging on the Climate Change tit.

The pro-democrat alphabet channel stew may be forced to mention it, but the context/spin is still democrat protection mode. You know -those horrible politically motivated republicans are just so uppity - what's the big deal?

THE PALACE GUARD MEDIA ARE STILL AT WORK:

We all knew the government lied to us, but this was thought to be occasional, intermittent, and tied to necessity, such as during war.

But under Obama, the question becomes, Is the government ever telling us the truth?

XRay said...

"Is the government ever telling us the truth?"

I think we all know the answer to that question.

That video should be on the nightly news.

Michael Haz said...

Great video!

This administration lies as a routine policy. They lie about everything. It's difficult to find one policy or initiative that they have not lied about.

It would be interesting to see the reaction when Obama issues his executive decree to legalize millions upon millions of illegal aliens by presidential fiat.

I hope that this is added to the case that Congress is bringing to sue Obama and which is being handled by a law professor, blogger and patriot Jonathan Turley. A committed liberal, Professor Turley is also committed to the Constitution and the rule of law.
Let's hope that this lawsuit can gain some traction and the Congress can use it's spending power to delay implementation of this horrendous abrogation of the Constitution.

We should all offer them our support and best wishes.

Impeach.

Shutdown.

Whatever it takes, regardless of how the last shutdown "hurt" the Rs (they picked up how many seats 2 weeks ago?).

Trooper York said...

Lem if I might make a request.

Why not add Professor Turley's blog to your blog roll since many of your commenter's comment over there. It is sure to be very relevant over the next few months as the court case proceeds. You should also have a second decent legal blog to link to so you would have a quick reference point for important legal issues. Legal Insurrection is great but we might get some first hand insight with Turley's blog. He is in the arena protecting the Constitution.

Thanks.

Aridog said...

What Trooper just said...Turley's blog belongs in the blog roll.

Pssst: That may invite future musings by Annie/Inga, et al...but what the heck.

KCFleming said...

Trooper York said...

The link would be good because it would feature interesting blog threads about legal issues that we are all concerned about in the era of the lawlessness spread by Barack Hussein Obama.

Al Franken's book Lies: And the Lying Liars Who Tell Them is the User's Manual for the Obama administration.

XRay said...

Glad to see Insty pick up this video, along with others who have. In a sense it is preaching to the choir, the video, but it is still worthwhile in exposing in a concise fashion the lies being told and the further malfeasance of the press in not reporting on them.

KCFleming said...

Palladian let Evanizer.com lapse.

Trooper York said...

In fact I think someone hijacked the domain and a "risky site" took it over. Or at least that is what my security softwear picked up. It is now a bad link.

Although there are other links I would drop as well but of course that is solely up to Lem and his co-bloggers.

I think it might be cool to link to all of their blogs if they still have active sites. That is to say those who are still active participants here.

XRay said...

I take it no one has heard how Palladian is doing then?

KCFleming said...

I miss hearing from him here.
Nothing in ages.

I exchanged emails with Evan a couple of weeks ago. As we age, things happen and one needs to take time off to address them.

Last year, I commissioned him to do a painting of a picture that I took when I was a young paratrooper. The painting that he did was absolutely perfect.

I wish I had as much talent.

KCFleming said...

Thanks, AllenS.

XRay said...

Yes, thanks, AllenS. I too miss Palladian's observations on life.

I have neglected my blog, not out of blog fatigue, but for a reason. A neighbor a few blocks away routinely blogged his family's travels, much like I was blogging my motorcycle travels. Their home was ransacked while they were away, and the local PD observed that telling people via a blog when you are travelling is an invitation to theft, or worse. So I stopped.

I also stopped blogging about my travels here at Lem's, mostly, for the same reason.

KCFleming said...

Michael:

I quit posting on Facebook for the same reason.

And because Facebook has turned evil.

But I liked reading of your travels.
Consider an ex post facto review of where you have been, rather than where you are.

Michael Haz said...

I also wish Palladian was here again, and Pastafarian, and Paddy O and Darcy, and Blake, but they aren't.

And Ruth Anne, especially Ruth Anne.

Michael Haz said...

And if our neighborhizzle wasn't so creepy, Maybe Fr. Martin Fox would stop in more frequently.

Trooper York said...

I think they read but do not necessarily comment. Everybody has limited time these days and we have to pick and choose where we participate.

I know that I have very little time to blog and I just throw out comments because it is so easy to drop little nuggets here and there.

Trooper York said...

Father Fox seems to be very busy at his parish these days. I would imagine he would comment on a thread that interests him. But like the others mentioned I bet he is super busy since his busy season is coming up.

It seems every time we have a "religious" themed thread here it goes south in a hurry.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

Good Idea. I'm a little busy right now but I'll get to it. promise

Trooper York said...

Thanks Lem.

I think he will be a great addition to your blog roll.

I am very impressed with his move to represent the House in their suit against the King. He is something that is very rare these days. A principled liberal.

Aridog said...

My last message from Evan was 30 October...and when I tried to respond it did not go through. I got the usual mailer daemon/rejection notice.

I have just sent another response as a test to see if it makes it. No word back on the message status yet. I am puzzled because the listing says his domain expired 25 October but his last message to me was dated 30 October. I do not have a phone # to my knowledge, but I will check all the old traffic to see if I got it and didn't record it in my contacts.

"In summary"?

That's like a crack addict summarizing last night.

There will be more Gruber-fueled frenzies.

Unless Chip's twelve-step program for Gruberholics Anonymous is scheduled to start tomorrow.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Lol. I actually like this video! The guy's obviously a marketing genius, and none of what he's about causes so much as an eyelash to bat when it's done in the industries of our corporate country or by the lobbyists they hire to lie to Congress and the American people.

This country surely does reap what it sows, doesn't it?!!

XRay said...

Yes, miss all those folks too. And more that I can't remember.

At times, R&B, you debase your obvious intelligence. Meaning, your 8:31 sounds sane, though it completely obviates your entire philosophical existence.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

We are living in strange times. I don't think a philosophical rationale for one's existence is as important as it once was.

Gruber's obviously good at what he does. My only observation is that the misdirection he employs is so commonplace and valued in the private and lobbying sectors that it seems more foolish than not to believe that such superlative skills of deception wouldn't eventually become SOP among consultants to the government itself.

It just seems incorrect to conclude that in a country where basic consumer labeling is a lost cause, and a legislator can excuse the lies in his speech as "not intended to be a factual statement", political consultants shouldn't be at least as good at this skill, if not much better.

Some people think the most they can hope for is an honest government. But we've awarded so much dishonesty in this society, at so many levels, and so willingly, that to expect any less in a government of, by, and for the people, is the irony.

Every now and then I get an insight that convinces me of what zombies we've all (including myself) have been.

chickelit said...

I agree. And here is perhaps where I differ from fellow conservatives: The problem isn't the border. The border was more porous years ago. Hell, there wasn't really as big a need for it then. And why not? Because there were far fewer receptive employers here then. There weren't queues at Home Depots and willing employers rounding them up and incentivizing more.

People need to stop asking Government to solve the problem by erecting a higher wall and start asking Congress and local governments to enforce existing laws and repeal laws which enabled employers to bring this about. And you can start asking yourself how you've helped or hurt the problem.

XRay said...

"rationale"

I agree with that thought.

Though, your last sentence is golden.

I lay no claim to particular insight.

I'll just say that power corrupts, absolutely, every damn time, no matter from which gun it is aimed.

Bleach Drinkers Curing Coronavirus Together said...

Chickie's right.

If there were enough political incentive on the right to curtail "illegals", that would have at least forced Obama's hand in a different direction. But the CEOs who contribute disproportionately to the GOP want cheap hands, and downward pressure on wages.

Barring political pressure on it from the left and right, the only alternative is to see what the public at large or private sector would do. But that takes morals and the most powerful voices there are still and will always be primarily profit-motivated.

Sorry, right-wing. But border crackdown is just one of those things that your reps lie to you on to make you feel good. They have less interest in doing anything about it than the left does in losing "Hispanics/Latino" votes.
