On One of These Things is Not Like the Other, Open Eyes & Tune Calling

One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?

On Platforms & Megaphones

Glenn Reynold's column at the New York Post yesterday, entitled "Team Biden’s refusal to admit we’re in a recession is just another reason Americans don’t trust our institution" concluded with the quote below containing an essential truth in regard to trust and a question in need of an answer.

"The way you earn trust is to tell people the truth, do the things you promise to do and admit when you’re wrong and do better next time. Lying to people, breaking promises and redefining terms to escape accountability may seem slick to political operatives, but this behavior gets noticed.

Can our nation flourish when most people think it’s basically a big organized-crime operation? I doubt it very much. But who will make our leaders do better?"

Someone willing to address our current situation, involving a hullaballoo, a mashed potato, two shimmy shakers, the MSM twist and the ongoing locomotion of the runaway train, is sorely needed.  With a second question to follow the first:  How and where do we start?

On Family Sagas & Bowls of Protection

Two articles caught my attention today, via a comment link elsewhere to The Tablet, where two different family sagas are presented and portrayed.  According to the stories told about them, both families appear to have been responsible for marking the tablet of history through the employment and deployment of two different bowls of protection.

The first piece, entitled, The Mystery of Noah’s Ark Solved, involves a long account of the speculations, theories and math calculations based on the description and numbers provided in the Hebrew account of the ark supposedly built by Noah to preserve his family and earth's animal pairs from a catastrophic flood.  And the author, who offers evidence to support his belief the ark was most likely a bowl shaped affair, concludes with this takeaway:

"Noah and his family may stroll on the deck of a ship in Hollywood movies and modern fiction, but Genesis makes it clear that they were shut inside the ark before the flood and emerged only afterward. Noah is not a heroic sailor, like Odysseus or Sinbad or Horatio Hornblower. He is an elderly man of great piety, locked behind a door that was closed from the outside by the Lord himself, huddling with his terrified family and frantic animals in a giant container that bobs up and down on the waves like a buoy.

That is why it matters that the ark is not a boat that can be steered, but a passively drifting basket. Among other things, the story of Noah in Genesis is about being faithful during terrible events, in spite of being powerless to help yourself and those whom you love."

The other, entitled, The National Tragedy of Hunter Biden’s Laptop, goes on to describe “ How a country’s political corruption, institutional decay, and moral decline can be summed up in one sad family saga.”  A sad and damaging family saga that continues to unfold, with huge implications for those living through current reality and enduring the aftereffects of that bowl full of dysfunction, denial and duplicity.  The author outlines the timetable, describes the contents and the involvements and distancing that make up the other bowl, the bowl of protection that to this day surrounds Hunter and the family at large, with this conclusion:  "But none of these powerful and experienced men, presumably dedicated to defending the national interest, lifted a finger to stop Hunter Biden—and really, how could they? He was Joe Biden’s son, after all. And by doing nothing about him, the pillars of America’s intelligence community became the curators of the Biden family’s scandal..."

"It hardly needs to be said at this point that, contrary to media reporting on the left and right, there is no actual investigation of Hunter Biden’s laptop. In August 2020, an FBI agent who played a role in framing Trump as a Russian agent dismissed the laptop as Russian disinformation. This assessment, according to a recent letter from Sen. Grassley, caused the FBI’s investigative activity to cease. It doesn’t matter how damning the laptop’s contents might be, or whether they include child pornography or photographs of Joe Biden cashing checks from China. Whatever investigation might exist is performative, meant to show that the agencies are treating the president’s son like any other U.S. citizen. It’s a Potemkin investigation, obscuring the wasteland that was once the constitutional order before 9/11 legitimized the intelligence agencies’ ruinous attacks on it.

Still, even without a trial, it’s clear that Hunter Biden has enjoyed one of the most maniacally reckless careers in American history. What distinguishes him from real daredevils, like rock stars, test pilots, and terrorists, is that he always worked with a safety net—one billed to the American public, which will continue to pay dearly for the excess his father afforded him..."

The Case of the Deleterious Dick Toc

My dear Holmes,

It is your most humble petitioner, Inspector Lestrade. As you well know it has been several months since I have last requested your assistance in the troubling matter of the obscene affairs of the odious Lady Chatterley and her grass-stained lover. Today I must once again humbly beseech your assistance with respect to these horrible people.

As you know we have been long keeping a jaundiced eye on the affairs of this nefarious couple. Ever since the disappearance of Lord Douchebag the Yard has maintained a check on the activities of this group of malcontents and subversives. We occasionally insert an operative into their circle to monitor their unseemly ways. Insertion is a poor choice of words and calls to mind an unfortunate vision as illegal insertions seem to be one of the goals of the group that surrounds Lady Chatterley and her shabby vegetable loving lover. The problem with attempting this mode of surveillance is that no operative can stand to associate with these two for more than a month or two as she uniformly expels them from her presence as she is mentally unstable and brooks no contradiction or even mild questioning. An acolyte lasts about as long as a mayfly in her unstable circle.

However, a situation has arisen which requires your assistance. It appears that Lady Chatterley and one of her foppish spawn have instigated an correspondence with the notorious sybarite Oscar Wilde and his circle of rich and idle degenerates. They have been forward obscene renderings of male genitalia through her Majesty's post on numerous occasions. These drawings consist of artistic renderings of various penile perturbances which are drawn in slightly different poses. They are gathered together in a pile and then turned quickly to give the illusion of motion. They call this technique Dick Toc and it has become quite the rage in the social scene of catamites and degenerates.

You might ask why I am writing to you about these beastly practices, but I do indeed have an important reason. It appears that for some reason your brother Mycroft has received some of these obscene missives. I write to you to impart a warning to him and have him destroy any of these items he might maintain in his files before the Yard moves forward with the prosecution of these obscene practices. I feel I owe it to your family because of your invaluable help and our enduring friendship.

Please give my best to your brother Mycroft and inform him that the case of the Gibbon with the distended rectum in the Yorkshire Zoo has been dropped. Please note that the occurrence of what various physicians have termed monkey pox have been reported in those environs and he should be circumspect in his intercourse with his current circle of friends and acquaintances

I remain as always,
Your obedient servant,
Inspector G. Lestrade

On Outgassing, Spouting Nozzles & Gas Cans

One Saturday challenge I look forward to involves rolling through Powerline's Week in Pictures and deciding which of the ones that invite a smile contain the spark of creativity that surprises or intrigues me the most.  Today it was this one:

There he stands, an arrogant beggar, out gassing and spouting nonsense, an empty red can himself with his sniffer and symbolic male part (and public proclivities) prominently on display.

Taking me to this in regard to nozzles of one kind or another:

douche nozzle:  an obnoxious or contemptible person (typically used of a man).

"he's a total douchenozzle and the whole premise of the show is absurd"

Kudos as well to the person who thought up the wind turbine paint job and the tiny freezer pops!

On Cuffs & Jabs; Power Plays, Absurdities & Play Acting

Four jabs for Joe, masking up the waz, mad mandates resulting in the loss of thousands of skilled workers who weren't willing to experiment with The Experimental Vaccine That's Not a Vaccine, and he still comes down with Covid.   Another version of What's in the Room? and How Do We Go About Fooling and Controlling Others with Our Power Plays, Absurdities and Play Acting?

Driving past the marina today, currently filled for the summer with the boats of those wealthy enough to afford and maintain them, I saw what looked to be a pair of  "boat people" all decked out in their summer boating duds, sunglasses and white masks, walking their tiny dog on the strip of grass that runs alongside the docks.  I wondered if they wore those masks on their boat, or if they'd put them on special to walk the dog on shore in case the soft breeze coming off the Lake was stirring up the city cooties waiting in the grass.   Meanwhile the four POC laborers repairing the sidewalk further down the way were diligently going about their work wearing reflective vests with no masks.  Two different worlds, two different playing fields, two different priorities and safety concerns as summer rolls on.

On another note, the Patient Intake Information form I filled out today for an upcoming appointment asked if I identified as male, or identified as a female.  Among the other possibilities listed (without the word "identifies" in front) were 4 other choices: "Female-to-Male (FTM/Transgender Male/Trans Man); Male-to-Female (MTF/Transgender Female/Trans Woman); Genderqueer, neither exclusively male or female; and Choose not to disclose".

It seems the more helpful information to have on record with regard to health considerations and potential cancer concerns would be whether I have a uterus or prostate onboard, or was born with a penis or vagina.  But no, it's more important to know what I think I am, than gather info pertaining to body parts and hormones that might require attention or testing.  I decided to check "Identifies as Female" and wrote "I am a biological female" alongside in the belief that too might be good for the doctor to know.

On Pete & a Pelosi House Sitter; AC's, EV's & Blue Smoke

Legal Insurrection has a post up today on Rep Thomas Massie posing questions and providing answers to Pete Buttigieg on electricity usage.  Reading it brought to mind the old adage about all electronics running on blue smoke, with the proof being when you let the blue smoke out they no longer work.

Who knew there was someone with mad skills like these sitting in the Pelosi-run House and serving the the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee?  I didn't, and was surprised to read the following on Massie's website:

"U.S. Representative Massie attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. During school, he invented a technology that enabled people to interact with computers using their sense of touch and leveraged that technology to found SensAble Technologies, Inc., which raised over $32 million of venture capital, created 70 jobs, and obtained 29 patents. The hardware and software he developed is now used to design automobiles, jewelry, shoes, dental prosthetics, and even reconstructive implants for wounded soldiers.

In Congress, Thomas serves on two committees: the House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure and the House Judiciary Committee."
