What am I bid for a 6.5 millimeter caliber Mannlicher-Carcano Italian military rifle and a .38 special caliber Colt Cobra revolver? Asking for a friend.

Poor Zimmerman. If only his parents had named him Jorge.

Very macabre. I don't recall seeing many murder weapons (firearms) on display. Booth's derringer is an exception.

Others?

Kind of tacky, but I'm mostly sympathetic to his plight. He has to worry about the odd lunatic taking a potshot at him, and it's probably not that easy to find a job. Trayvon Martin's parents made off with a few million for their troubles, but God forbid he try to make a few bucks off the tragedy. His domestic problems have received wide publicity, and so will any misdeed he does in the future. Trayvon's father has neck tattoos and two or three marriages. I'm betting that there might be some domestic disturbances in his background, but that's a story that will never be covered.

CL - try to keep up - bidding for the .38 caliber Colt Cobra revolver, with the police evidence tag still attached, started at $100,000 and quickly escalated. AP reported the gun Jack Ruby used to kill Lee Harvey Oswald was auctioned off in 1991 for a mere $220,000.

Later, Capitol police seized the pistol Jack Ruby used to kill Lee Harvey Oswald after a man carried the $220,000 weapon to Capitol Hill and on a whim offered to show it to House Speaker Thomas Foley, police said Sunday.

"Show". Yeah, right.
