Why Ben Carson is worth a second look.

What were the reaction of the various presidential contenders to the ridiculous goings on at the University of Missouri:

Hillary Clinton:"“Racism has no place anywhere, let alone an institution of learning. Standing w/ the students at Mizzou in my home state calling for change.”

Bernie "Red Depends Baby" Sanders: “I’m listening to the #BlackOnCampus conversation. It’s time to address structural racism on college campuses."

Donald Trump: “I think it’s just disgusting. I think the two people who resigned are weak, ineffective people. When they resigned, they set something in motion that’s going to be a disaster for the next long period of time.”

Dr. Ben Carson: "The resignations are a sign of the ‘politically correct police’ going too far. It’s OK to disagree with people, but it’s not OK to destroy them. People are so frightened of the politically correct police that they are willing to do things that are irrational in order to appease them. I believe it’s going to be necessary for those people who truly believe in our system, who believe in our Constitution, who believe in our principles and values that made America great, to be willing to stand up.”

I think both Trump and Carson are obviously correct. The difference is the matter of tone. Trump is combative and takes it strong to the hole. Did you his speech where he talked about Carson's description of his pathological behavior as being the same thing as being a child molester? Carson shrugged it off and said he was disappointed at Trump and that he would "Pray for him." I think this illustrates the best part of  both candidates. Trump tells the truth that other people don't want to hear and is not afraid of being an asshole while doing it. Carson is a man of faith who is strong in his principals but not afraid to turn the other cheek when someone blusters at him. Carson will stand up strong when it is total bullshit which he did when the media had a feeding frenzy because of a manufactured lie by a blog. But he is a big enough man to give Trump enough rope to hang himself. It Trump is smart he would apologize. He won't which I kind of admire. But it would be the smart play.

Carson continues to impress me.

Trump is acting like a dick.

Well he is a dick.

A scorpion is a scorpion. What you see is what you get.

Sometimes you need a dick not a pussy to be President.

What Trump said was disgusting, dishonest, and stupid. He knows it's not true, he knows it's a low blow. He should apologize to Carson, but he won't, which I despise. It's Obamaesque. We don't need another President who's full of himself, and willing to say anything to win. Obama has done whatever he wants, illegal or not, because he doesn't have to worry about the press. Trump will do the same because he won't care about the press. Same result. This shit from Trump, plus all the other stuff like the attack on McCain's service, and others were weasily schoolyard assholishness. It was not impressive - it was embarrassing. It should cost him the election. I hope it does. We need an impressive person for the job, not a loud one. He's a boor, and I should know.

And for you single issue voters, even though I think it would be perfectly fair to kick out 11 million illegals, I don't want to be that country. In the end, we will not be that country, so if you are voting for him to have that happen, then your are wasting your vote just like those who voted for Obama to heal the racial divide. These are not simple problems that some guy is gonna fix for us like a superhero.

Clinton and Sanders are a disgrace, and they are liars. They don't like what's happening on campus at all, and they know it. They are just cowards pandering like a mosquito who anesthetizes your skin hoping not to get swatted until she's done sucking her fill. This chicken shit should cost them both the election too.

There is hope though. Some people raised their kids right.

American kids (look at the current crop of college students) don't want to work. They want a cup of cocoa, free healthcare, and a 1-800 number to the "I'm offended" police.

I doubt anyone, including Trump, can round up 11 million. It just won't happen.

What we need to do (imo) is stop inviting them in and make it hard for anyone to function if they are here illegally. Don't we have laws now to do that. Why don't we follow them.

There are a lot of ways to be a strong leader, being an asshole is a side quality that some alpha males have - some. You have to admit that he would be a far better candidate if he acted more like a serious person than a celebrity. Attacking an accomplished surgeon who is very popular among the people whose vote you will need is risky enough. Comparing him to a child molester is just an unforced error, and it makes me question if he can control himself against Hillary when that kind of thing could make even her seem sympathetic. You can't win without lots of female votes - binders full.

He wouldn't be a better candidate if he acted like a serious person. Then he would be like everybody else. He would be Scott Walker.

Sometimes you just gotta be a dick. Sad but true.

If Taft was a dick,
he kept it out of sight.
He claimed it was modesty,
but Mrs. Taft asked "even at night?"

Exactly. His self control is lacking. He shoots off his mouth and most people cringe. yeah sure his fans love it - but why hit Carson so hard? What is that for?

If it's Trump against Hillary (and Hillary could/should be easy to defeat) Trump could blow it. I can see him turning everyone against him except the small percentage of Perot-blind-faithers.

I don't mean "serious" like Rand Paul. Just don't beclown himself. There are a lot of people who will not vote for him, but would if he didn't go off the deep end every once in awhile. Scary people don't win popularity contests. I still expect him to do something really dumb and blow the whole thing.

The way it shakes out it that it will most likely be between Carson, Rubio and Cruz. I think Trump will lose to Carson in Iowa and win in New Hampshire. Then Carson takes South Carolina and Cruz racks up wins in the SEC primaries. Ricky Ricardo takes Florida and it is war to the knife. Trump will drop out unless he wins both Iowa and New Hampshire.

And Trump is scary? If anything he comes off as a clown sometimes. But not scary.

You know who is scary? Kasich. That dude has anger issues. Big time.

Kaisch is the guy everyone touts who wants more of the same old same old. How is he doing?
Talk about being a dick.

People know Trump from TV. They will not be scared of him. The people who say that are the same ones who find the KKK under the bed and make up rapes. They will never vote for Trump. He is not going after them. He is a salesman. He knows his target audience.

Trooper York said...

Also the only person with less self control and a worse temper then Trump is Hillary. If Trump gets a couple of good shots in she will be a shrill shrieking harridan who will call for some "muscle" to get Trump off the debate stage. I am totally confident that Trump would clean her clock by simply being willing to call her a liar and a criminal to her face. The press and all the "best people" would plotz but that is what you gotta do.

Trooper York said...

That is not to say that I think Trump will be the nominee. But I would not be afraid of him if he were to win the nomination.

Remember you don't have to be faster than the bear. Just faster than the old woman with cankles and the baggage standing next to you.

If he wins, I think Trump will be impeached. Which will give us President Rosie, or as she will be known The Daft Taft.

Trooper York said...

Trump would never be impeached. He would resign. That would be the same as declaring bankruptcy. So it is very important who would be his VP. But what makes you think he will be impeached.

They don't have the balls to impeach Obama. They couldn't get Clinton when they had him dead to rights. What is going to make them impeach Trump?

Trooper York said...

Trump is going to apoligize to Rosie O'Donnell and make it right.

He is going to appoint her ambassador the Libya.

Trooper York said...

That is ambassador to Libya. Yeah. That's the ticket.

Good post. I think your view on this is pretty clear-headed and matches what I've been thinking about those two.

I mean, I might not be as enthusiastic a voter for them. But otherwise, yes. ;-)

That would actually be pretty entertaining to watch. He seems to be the only one who can detour around stupid gender warz issues. Other than a temporary bump in the "sympathy vote" for Fiorina, (ironically similar to Hillary's "sympathy vote" for BillJob's peccadildoes), he seems to have shut her down pretty well.

Trump is the candidate to take on Hildreary. I'll say it loud and proud. Even Ann Coulter admits that Bernie Sanders is the better working person's candidate to Hildreary - who is in the Chamber of Commerce's pocket. And the same goes for Trump versus all his Republican contenders. It's exactly right.

There is a lot of convergence between the right and left this year. You've got the same forces who gave you an established elite of corporatists and one candidate on each side who's balls-to-the-walls outspoken about any real meat-and-potatoes issue that's had enough of that. I am happy to call out a Democrat party that actually, finally can clearly highlight that split within its own ranks - and it comes down to Hildreary being the same old Boss Hogg Democrat party corrupt power establishment that Republicans have always complained about and that we've seen historically all the way through Tammany Hall - and a guy who's too deferential to beat her - despite being the closest thing to the only REALLY successful president the Democrats ever had: FDR. For so long I assumed that that was the wing that defined the Democrats. Now I know better. And this is why they lose.

A Democratic Senatorial Election Committee operative called me up three weeks ago for donations. She couldn't even identify who was challenging Hillary within her own party. I hung up. Click. Done with those airheads. Democrats populated by the likes of her - who know only how to go negative against Republicans and have nothing positive of their own to sell - totally deserve to lose. I have no remorse about that and no sympathy.

I think chickie sometimes inspires me to get creative with the language in a certain way. For instance, "peccadilloes" could easily be spelled "peckerdildoes", and everyone would still probably know what you're trying to say.
