Is the Pope Catholic?

As a conservative Catholic it seems that the only people who believe in the same thing as I do are in foreign countries. Especially the ones that are persecuted. Not the ones who are in comfortable places like the USA or Europe. Not the priests here in America. It seems the true faith resides in the ones who come from Africa or Asia or the Middle East. Especially the ones in China.

It seems that the Pope has asked two bishops who were serving the faith at great risk to their lives in China....well he is asking them to resign so he can consecrate the ones approved by the Communist Chinese government. The men who kept the flame of faith alive are thrown over for toadies of the government.

The Catholic Herald reports:

"The Holy See has reportedly asked two Chinese bishops to stand aside to make way for illicitly ordained, Chinese government-backed counterparts.
A Vatican delegation asked Bishop Peter Zhuang of Shantou and Bishop Jospeh Guo Xijin of Mindong to retire or accept demotion in order to smooth relations with the Chinese government.
Asia News, the outlet of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions, reports that 88-year-old Bishop Zhuang received a letter dated 26 October asking him to resign to make way for the government-backed Bishop Huang Bingzhang.
Bishop Huang was excommunicated in 2011 after being consecrated without Vatican approval. He is also a member of the National People’s Congress, the Chinese parliament."
So the Pope wants to depose priests who served the faith underground at the danger of becoming murdered for the the faith in favor of someone who was excommunicated.

Is this Pope Catholic?

Frank is a mistake. The Cardinals made a mistake. Why? Because they are mere mortal men prone to making mistakes. So they picked the wrong guy. Wait. I'm not trying to act wise. What counts is the Institution, The Church, which has built up over the millennia a huge body of doctrine that corrects the mistakes that are bound to be made. Not perfectly. Frank has done damage and will do more. But silently, or not so silently, the priests of The Church are weighing his errors AGAINST DOCTRINE and although he is infallible that does not mean that those priests cannot also teach the doctrinal truth which counters his errors even while maintaining obedience to his dictates. Catholic doctrine will prevail.

Frank's a Commie, so, what the Hell else did you expect?

Contrary to the opinion of some, you can't be a Catholic and a Commie. Neither system permits it. You either give your soul to God or sell it to the devil.

This is why cafeteria Catholics like the Kennedys aren't.
