KLEM TV

Steven Spielberg should consider doing a modern, updated version of "Duel" (1971)

Note that the menacing truck in the film was an oil tank truck

Doesn't seem like much of a fair fight.

With driverless semi-trucks already on the road, the movie is probably in the works. I haven't seen any of the new West World yet. Are there driverless cars hunting people down? Not that far fetched that a hacker could reprogram one to chase human figures.

There is a certain arrogance to those who are working on making driverless autos. But, having worked countless cases and seen the carnage caused by drinking, drugs, inattentive driving[particularly since cell phones]; these driverless cars have a low bar to hurdle regarding safety.

Spielberg shoulda stuck to this sort of thing. All his "statement" films are be-drecked with liberal pieties.

I have a bevy of computer controlled machines working for me 16 hours a day doing complicated work virtually unattended. I would never trust a human being to do that work accurately or reliably. The airplanes we fly in are mostly computer piloted, and most crashes are caused by human error.

A lot of driving is easy, boring, and monotonous - perfect for automation.

When I think about the people driving around me from teenagers to the infirm, I, for one, welcome our robot overlords, or "slaves" is more accurate.
