The NBA is dead to me

I had New York Knicks tickets for about twenty one years. I went to on average three games a week. But never again. I won't even watch it anymore.

The NBA has become the politically correct haven of Anti-Americanism that is just not something that I can support ever again. The recent appearance of NBA Stars on ESPN to pimp Black Lives Matters after the deaths of the police officers in Dallas was the last straw for me.

I did not see the live broadcast as I boycott ESPN after what they did to Curt Schilling. Which is rich because I hate the mo who is endlessly praised because he had his menstrual blood on his sock when he pitched against the Yankees. But he still has the right to voice his personal opinions off the air without getting fired.

I saw the Youtube clip and read the transcripts along with a few blog posts. It was enough for me to realize I don't want anything to do with people who are in the tank for the criminals lobby.

When Harvey Gantt was running for Senator against Jesse Helms a bunch of these poverty pimp activists went to Michael Jordan to demand that he make commercials denounce Helms. He refused. He famously said "Republicans buy sneakers too."

The NBA does not want me as a fan. Fair enough bro. It worked. Good luck with that. I am sure you will not miss me. Youse guys got millions of dollars and lots of people who buy into your bullshit. The game is nowhere what it once was. I know that is old man talk. The old Jewish guys in the pick up game using the two handed set shot used to tell me that about the old days with CCNY and LIU. So it is no skin off their nose. But as far as I am concerned that is the end of it for me.

Never was a roundballer (as we say in Fluffia) and the NBA has been a Lefty province since the days of Larry O'Brien. And I've seen enough ESPN in doctors' offices to know I don't even want to have to watch horse racing on it.

As for the "players", remind me how many are high school dropouts who couldn't even spell Black Lives.

I stopped watching ESPN for anything but a specific game. I had gotten bored with their various news/talk shows. But one day, at a sports bar; they spent an entire segment explaining how important it was to allow transgenders into any locker room of their choice, and how colleges needed to adopt this philosophy now.

This is the correct reaction, and the one that will hurt them most and get results. None of their political opinions are important enough to sacrifice their contract money over.

Shit, ESPN and pro sports in general have been dead to me for years. I don't support them much anymore.
