Jennifer Lawrence tells Vogue magazine that Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis, who was jailed in September for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, makes her feel “embarrassed to be from Kentucky.”
The Oscar-winning actress didn’t shy away from political topics during an interview for the fashion publication’s December issue. She went off when Davis’ name was brought up.
“Don’t even say her name in this house,” said Lawrence. “All those people holding their crucifixes, which may as well be pitchforks, thinking they’re fighting the good fight. I grew up in Kentucky. I know how they are.”
The Hunger Games star confessed she was raised a Republican, but refuses to support a political party “that doesn’t support women’s basic rights.”
“It’s 2015 and gay people can get married and we think that we’ve come so far, so, yay!” said Lawrence. “But have we? I don’t want to stay quiet about that stuff.”
The 25-year-old also expressed her views on the upcoming presidential election and doubled down on her contempt for Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.
“My view on the election is pretty cut and dried: If Donald Trump is president of the United States, it will be the end of the world. And he’s also the best thing to happen to the Democrats ever,” she said.
(Rant: Now this nasty twat is complaining that she can't get any dates. Look sweetie if you have these attitudes you will be living at home with your cat. Or at best hooking up with an effete pajama boy who is on the down low at the rest stop bathroom. Look at that crazed ginger professor in Missouri. She is your future. Christians go to movies too. There aren't enough ironic hipster chicks with hair under the arms living in Williamsburg to give you the multi-million dollar paydays that your style of movie demands to pay your over inflated salary. You ain't all that sweetie. Take a reality check. You time in the sun is very brief. Cash out and keep your yap shut. Otherwise it will be Gloria Swanson time by the time you are thirty.)

Stop breathing my air, Kim Davis. cooties coooties!
Do these hollywood know-it-alls listen to themselves?
I'd still bang her though.
Methadras knows what's in charge: the little head.
Obviously, Ms Lawrence grew up in the dumb part of Kentucky.

No, little girls aren't worth it.
Especially dumb little girls.
She is this years Julia Roberts. It ends quickly because another new gash comes around. Best not to burn bridges. She might want to be doing Hallmark movies someday.
"The 25-year-old also expressed her views..."
Oh, wait, let me write this down!
The fact that we make people like this incredibly rich for the silly work they do is depressing. I value the work of my gardener more, and especially my doctor, who won't earn in a lifetime of saving lives what she makes in year. I wish she would consider entertaining the troops...........
of ISIS.

At this moment in time, that is an affirmative.

As long as she hasn't assumed room temperature, I'm okay with dumb. :D

LOL!
Why people even ask actors about politics is ridiculous. They know nothing. Conversely, I don't want to know what Marco Rubio thinks about Cohen brothers movies.
I saw her interviewed early in her career. She was a level headed, funny, young woman. This is what the Hollywood culture creates.
Can't disagree with that suggestion on how she can be more entertaining to the people who seem to have a great demand for it.
Too funny.
I think a lot of her fan base were people who confused her with the character she played in Winter's Bone and Hunger Games. That character was grounded and respectful of the simple pieties. I saw a few of her interviews earlier. She was funny and down to earth like the character she played. But it was all a cruel lie. She's a creature of Hollywood........Jennifer has had a Dixie Chicks moment. Her parents were Republicans and, I presume, Christians. Those were the values she projected in the roles that made her a star and the values she now rejects. Maybe it's just a phase, or maybe not. It does seem that her values were not bred in the bone like the characters she plays. She has subverted her own best role.
This is what you do to get bonus points and attention in the entertainment industry. You play a progressive talking point. Then you get media attention. Win win.
Kim Davis is an uppity peasant who enforced her civil rights. Jennifer Lawrence is a privileged aristocrat who is signaling that Kim Davis's rights are unimportant and that it's okay to disregard those civil rights. Civil rights only apply selectively, to people who are Cool (hold the right opinions).
I saw Silver Linings Playbook, which I hardly remember. She made no impression on me except as a generic female romcom lead.
She was terrific in Winter's Bone and the first Hunger Games movie. Of all the teenage girls who have taken to fighting evil and saving the world, she's the best--much better than those girls in Divergent and Tomorowland......She really can project the values her parents taught and which she now rejects. She can pretend to be brave and independent and capable of seeing through the fog of bullshit. Rock Hudson was very good as Doris Day's love interest.
