"State Dept. whistleblower has email hacked, deleted"

The personal e-mail account of a State Department whistleblower was hacked, and four years worth of messages — some detailing alleged wrongdoing at the agency — were deleted, The Post has learned.
The computer attack targeted the Gmail account of Diplomatic Security Service criminal investigator Richard Higbie, his lawyer, Cary Schulman, confirmed.

Higbie has asked the FBI in Dallas, where he lives, to investigate the hacking, which occurred this month.

Higbie played a key role in helping fellow whistleblower Aurelia Fedenisn, a former investigator for the department’s inspector general, reveal in June a pattern of alleged coverups by top department officials.

The alleged coverups included keeping quiet separate IG investigations that found that members of then-Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton’s security detail had engaged hookers and that the Belgian ambassador had solicited underage prostitutes.

These were among a string of investigations by the service, responsible for protecting dignitaries and investigating crimes within the department, that were allegedly derailed by senior officials, including one instance of interference by Clinton Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills.
Astute observers connect the timing of the NYT Benghazi article to the possibility that something else, more sinister, is being kept under wraps. In other words, it's a "wag the dog" maneuver, made notorious by Hillary's husband Bill Clinton, back when he was president. "It's like deja vu all over again." Back to Higbie...

Higbie, a senior criminal investigator and the second-highest-ranking agent with the service’s Dallas office, also has an employment lawsuit against the department, alleging it retaliated against him.

The hacking of Higbie’s e-mail follows a mysterious break-in at Schulman’s Dallas law firm in July, shortly after the whistleblower allegations came to light.

The burglar sawed a hole through the wall from an adjoining office and stole three computers, but left behind other valuables.

Although cops arrested a petty thief for the crime, Schulman said, “We feel like we’re in a movie. It’s nuts. It makes us wonder . . . . maybe we’ve got something we don’t even realize or maybe they’re worried about something.”
Now, where have I heard a story about a break-in, involving political figures in high office. I think it was a psychiatrist office that was broken into that time. It was watershed, a big deal.
I seem to remember a Rose Law firm break-in in too, where Hillary Clinton worked, before arriving at the White House. Long time ago. My memory is not what it used to be.

This guy used a "gmail" personal email account? Not very cautious...that from someone who has been there done that.

I would have printed out some of the most important emails. I've done that with people that I didn't trust.

How much does it take to get the title of worst administration (President) ever?

Do you have to be twice as bad as Nixon plus one Carter and a half dozen Buchanan's? Does anyone think a Putin administration would be worse? How? Sure, maybe some people would end up dead instead of just silenced, but death by willful incompetence is just as dead as by assassination. And frankly, I think an evil bus driver is less scary than a blind one who can't drive.

I mixed up breaking and btreak-in.

Yea, no way I wouldn't make copies, and they would be electronic and spread over online and off-line locations. It takes almost no time or effort to do that. I bet there are copies, which makes the hacking very foolish.

I'll fix it when i get home.

WTF does this have to do with the president? If the NSA had been involved they would have never noticed that they had been hacked.

Hillary probably approved the hacking. She cannot be reached for comment. She fell and bumped her head.

Plus, unless I read it through too quickly, the only evidence of this is that Higbie and his lawyers say so.

But yeah, worst President ever! All the Valley Girls will tell you so.

I agree with Aridog and AllenS.

I've known secretaries and admin assistants who print out all their emails as a matter of CYA. I'm pretty sure a State Dept whistleblower would have copied everything he needed to disc or paper.

And whoever hacked him wouldn't have considered that? That's a little weird. More info is needed.

She fell and bumped her head.

I forgot about that one.

You know, it occurs to me that maybe, just maybe, Hillary is going to pay for not only her bungles and missteps, but, for Obama's too.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

I should say "be made" to pay...

Her history is to fight and not give an inch.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

There were chances to pay off Paula Jones and make the suit that ultimately resulted in impeachment, go away. But Hillary would not listen to reason... or so the story goes.

Hillary made a bad mistake in joining Obama's administration.

Whoever runs has to run against Obama. As a Democrat they have to run against all the stuff that Obama said he would do but didn't.
Like ending the endless wars and closing Gitmo and stuff like that.

Hillary can't claim to be against that if she was part of the administration.

People always want a change after a two term President. If the Democrats want to win they need a fresher face. Just sayn'

Obama was not vetted...

Hillary?

There just isn't enough time, ink not patience to cover all the material.

Move straight to coronation.

Who is going to make her answer any questions?

Anybody comes close she is going to pull that Lazio move.

The latest Gallup poll shows Hillary tops it again (for the 18th time!) as the most admired woman with 15%. Michelle Obama came in with only 6%.

This is scary: "She has dominated the Most Admired Woman list since becoming first lady in 1993, failing to finish first only in 1995 and 1996 to Mother Teresa, and in 2001 to Laura Bush."

We are doomed.

eh. Hillary is 100% manufactured hype. She has electrolytes!

She has the personality of a booger.

Absolutely. Thumb drives to archive copies. Hard copy and put into a safe deposit box or other off site location.

No brainer.

"Hillary made a bad mistake in joining Obama's administration."

As a path to the presidency it was her only option. She stayed relevant as SecState. It will be easy to run against his mistakes, as long as she's polite about it.

Trooper York said...

I disagree deb. When was the last SecState that became President?

John Quincy Adams?

Trooper York said...

No wait.

James Buchanan.

Perfect fit for this administration.

Trooper York said...

If she were smart she would have run for Governor in New York instead of Spitzer. She would have been finishing her second term and perfectly aligned to run for President.

Secretary of State is not a pathway to the Presidency in this day and age.

Trooper York said...

She got played.

Trooper York said...

Which doesn't surprise me because I never thought she was all that bright in the first place.

Witness her performance as SecState.

Trooper York said...

When you want a good SecState you get a fat German guy with an accent who you have incriminating files on so you can control him.
At least if you want an effective Secretary.

Never get a Lurch impersonator or a midget broad who didn't realize she was a Hebrew. Just sayn'

Trooper York said...

I would say a hot black chick in catch me fuck me boots would be good but Moosechelle would never go for that.

Don't you think Beyoncé would be a much better SecState than Hillary or Lurch?

Sure, the way the TSA has caught all those saboteurs in dry runs over the years.

Doesn't Troll know this abuse was approved by Pajama Boy?

To ask the question is to answer it.

You're right, Troop, but I can't recall the timeline. Even I know governor is a pass to the presidency. But would she have won?
