Fair and Balance. Bush has been getting a lot of good coverage lately.

Incandescents haven't been cheap for a couple of years already.

They bottomed out maybe 3 years ago.

The manipulation of incandescents is the rule of law in action. Those who hold regulatory power determine winners and losers. And here, the winners are the fluorescent manufacturers. The rules were followed. Next, round two.

Another one of Dr Evil's little games, along with the Secretaries of State project and, IIRC, GLAAD.

Yes, but within the rule of law.

I thought we had more incandescence fans...

What happened.

I think I know what happened.

But, what happened is not going to leave my thoughts.

I like incandescence a lot. What I still have not figured out is how real the mercury danger is from fluorescence.

Banning light bulbs has got to be one of the dumbest things ever.

Light bulbs.

Since our political class are nothing but nanny-state dim bulbs, it adds up. Sadly.

Speaking of dimming - Incandescent light is not only flattering and easy on the eyes, and on human skin, incandescent light can be set on a dimmer, easily, which saves energy.

Fluorescents are horribly unflattering to human skin and the bulbs themselves are hazardous and must be recycled.
Dimming is avail, but not as easy to do.

What's next? Are the nannies coming after the halogen?

No one but maybe a small tiny fraction actually recycle CFLs. They go right to the trash. I'm sure the down stream mercury from millions of fluorescent bulbs over time is no big deal. (!) The scientists are still working on it.
Congress is basically saying an incandescent light bulb, which is harmless when tossed in the trash, is no good, but the bulb with mercury in it, is cool.
Thanks big nanny mandate government. we heart government mandates. and mercury. and big isotopes.
