Whose Those Girls?

Subscribers to Trooper York's blog will recognize many of these beauties from his "Whose That Girl" series.

I stumbled upon this video looking for Patsy Cline's 1957 debut on Arthur Godfrey's "Talent Scout" show.

Lessee, Lana Wood, a young Sophia Loren (both twice), Julie Newmar, Marilyn Monroe, Liz Mntgomery, Yvonne deCarlo, and (I think) Stephanie Powers.

PS It's Who's, not Whose.

I gotta get me one of those things....

Amazon! Yea, that's the ticket.

I really like those vintage units.

Didn't see, (but may have not looked closely enough) to see these hotties:

-Barbara Eden (one classy Dame)
-Pat Priest

Did you know KD Lang's band, the Reclines, was named after Patsy Cline.

KD Lang and I share some of the same interests.

I have seen her in concert a couple of times and she has one of the best voices I have ever heard and I have heard a lot of the greats back in the day.

Sinatra. Martin. Fitzgerald. Etta James. Anita O'Day. Lola Albright. Julie London. Nancy Wilson.

I would put KD right up there in their company.

I know people think she's "Square" and "mainstream" but Doris Day had a great voice. Peggy Lee too.

Haven't heard much of KD - I'll give her a try.

I thought THIS was pretty funny.

I think there was an Onion headline, "All Local Man's Cultural References End at 1993."

Tell me about it.

"Local Man's Cultural References All End at 1993" sounds better.

Let's look it up.

Turns out that's a semi-fail on my part.

I'm giving myself two marks out of four. One for the recollection and one for the proximity but I'm in a generous mood.

rcocean - watch KD convert her old C&W hit into R&B:

Pullin' back the reins.

And an early KD extended video:
My husband Boyd was killed at one of those Christian amusement parks. It was right after the Mary Magdalene beanbag toss; a stampede from the petting zoo.
