By going after the drug cartels, Trump IS putting America First. I'm not the Bush hater some are - they did some good things - but this is what the War on Drugs 41 started should have been.
Finally, Trump's going after the guys in charge.

Trump is failing by abandoning America First. No foreign entanglements means no foreign entanglements. Instead George W Trump is getting us involved in another blood for oil quagmire.

Its true that I also am no senator, military, or millionaire's son/daughter. That ain't me either.
At 72, I have some lived experience/awareness of how corrupt and compassonate, devious and creative, destructive and constructive, power hungry and humble humans are not only capable of being but are also driven by their needs and inner demons to be. And I am no longer looking for or expecting a leader to be anything more than human, or in any way capable of fulfilling happyland wishes/fantasies
I currently view Trump's leadership as falling toward the side of what is good. Good for our nation as a whole and good for the wellbeing of its citizens. If some of that goodness spills over into what is good for the world, so be it.
From your perspective it might appear Trump is failing by abandoning American First. From my perspective, I don't yet see that happenng. We'll have to see what more unfolds before I'm willing to move to an all or nothing stance on this.
Noticed something interesting after the riots in Caracas. Maduro's #2, who also has been indicted, told all the little Lefties to give it up and go home. Trump has gotten the world's attention much like Reagan after Grenada. I do believe it will pay dividends.
For one, Trump says Venezuela will give the US 30 to 50 million barrels of oil. That should do something for prices and inflation. America First?
