Guess the Governor!

Who would do such a thing?

Update:

Saw this and thought of MamaM:

But wait, there's more!

What a freak!

Looks like she would!

She is a first class trip to wierd land. Mouthy, bizarre and driven by ambition, in her desire to position herself to appear large and in charge, she continually shoots herself in the foot. A slightly more centered (but still off center) version of Kamala, she still appeals to Dem voters in MI who like her assertiveness.

This week has left me cartoonless. Waiting. Similar to how I felt during Covid, listening to a variety of opinions being issued over tariffs and Trump, hearing all the concern vibrating over portfolios, stock market responses, and what the future might hold.. It's too much. No one knows what's coming, but if there's anyone I trust to work toward a solution of sorts its the guy the majority elected. Someone who truly loves the USA, and has already tasted enough of his own wealth and success to want something beyond that, including the opportunity to work out deals that will open the doors leading lead to more freedom, peace and prosperity.

Half a bubble off level is the phrase I read here.

I own no stock and care not a whit (ha!) about the market - in my life it has gone up, it has gone down and I got out.

Tariffs make the world go round despite the assertions made in various songs, and once again, not my circus not my monkeys.

Trump does well but once again he has made really terrible hiring decisions - that woman who runs the DOJ and that indian who runs the FBI - both horrible choices. Toothless and useless. He needs to break out his old catch phrase. I wonder if he even remembers what it was...

As I've said, she let her ambition get in the way of her reason (and whatever good sense she might have) and now she's floundering.

In 2 years, much like Nuisance in CA, she may be a "Whatever happened to...?".

'Gretchen, are you there?'
"We're honored to have Gretchen Whitmer from the great state of Michigan," Trump said, craning his neck, presumably to see an out-of-frame Whitmer, and — this is the first clue things were going south — addressing her by her first name. "She's really done an excellent job. She's a very good person. ... Gretchen, are you there?"

From a comment on X by Mary Margaret Olohan
"My sister did this as a flower girl in my uncle’s wedding. Only difference was that she was 5"

her face never looked better

OK, one thing I have to say is she, under any other lights, would be considered a looker, especially at 53. What throws it all off is, you get a close-up, and there's something odd about her eyes. Spooky almost. And that "plastic face lady" (as Diogenes Sarcastica puts it) makeup she uses does not help.

I believe she's still hauling around the residue of past trauma, covered over with tough girl attitude and can-do ambition. She doesn't appear to function from a place of overall balance, with little girl and adolecent behaviors repeatedly showing up at peculiar times to trip her up. She grew up as a daddy's girl who was deeply affected by her parents divorce and her father's leaving when she was ten. She drank to excess during high school (throwing up on the school principle), and was raped in college while working with the football team there. Dad's influence and connections within the Blue Cross/Health Insurance Industry (as President and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of MI from 1988 to 2006) and his political contacts in the Detroit area and MI government provided the network of support needed for her to win two elections for governor.

I don't see her having what it takes to make it in the national arena.

I hadn't really paid any attention to her appearance but I just looked at some pictures of her and her face has a very masculine bone structure. In fact, she reminds me of Bruce "Caitlyn" Jenner. That's a rough way to go through life.

Looks like she's throwing a Roman salute, eh?

Very pretty girl there.

Never saw it that way, but to each his own.

My standby cliche on this is "Show me a feminist and I'll show you Daddy's little girl".

As far as the nation, she could go to the Senate (which is off the table for now) or a Cabinet post. Given the fact the Demos aren't getting the Rainbow House back any time soon, she'll need one of those Amazing Grace conversions.
