Because it's all they know. Politics=power=life=meaning=politics=etc. Sad! Now that the fascinating Trump show is being canceled after it's first season they don't have anything else to do but photoshop fucking Zombernie, First of His Irrelevance, and pretend that's entertaining, whimsical, meaningful fun though it's clearly not.
1. There's a group of otherwise useless people who managed to worm their way into important positions in our government under false pretenses and cheating. 2. There's a much larger group of people who make their livings currying favor with these dolts, whether for jobs, favors, breaks, money, or fantasy or by commentating on their stupid antics. This group of people has grown enormously in the past two decades and now includes all government employees as well as favor bankers like the entertainment and tech industries, big corporations, enemies, and "journalists." 3. The rest of us fall into three categories: (1) the gullible; (2) the fearful; and (3) the deplorable. Fortunately, there are a lot of "the rest of us" and from the perspective of the the first two groups, we're all deplorable and that's starting to sink in. We trusted our public servants to behave honorably so this is our fault as that was clearly never the plan. They've been blatantly stealing the silver and reverse mortgaging the house for decades.
Activism is a way for useless people to feel important, even if the consequences of their activism are counterproductive for those they claim to be helping and damaging to the fabric of society as a whole.

I was going to put something up, but I think I'll wait a day or two.

Notice how all the Demos who couldn't draw flies during primary season are now running the country. I guess this was how Clymer got them all to drop out.

I think a lot of that was always there, at least since the New Deal.

1 and 2 are Democrats. 20%, maybe 25. 30% I don't buy.
3 has them outnumbered and a good many of 1 and some of 2 will be drifting over to our side in the next couple of months.
The Bernie with Mittens memes have taken off to the next level. The first ones were focused on placing the picture of him in the chair elsewhere, as this one does. With the second batch, they've taken to separating the elements or adding embellishments.
Powerline shows both, in their weekly edition and in the extra edition. The last one in the second edition with the snake and the empty chair made me burst out laughing.

It's fun to see creativity take off in the midst of oppression, dread and despair. It give me hope.
As for our governor's commitment to "Following the Science"-- it's turned out to have been Political Science she was devoted to following all along! Who knew?!?!!
Four days after the inauguration, Michigan's Gov G. Whiz announced it was finally safe enough to open the restaurants in MI again on Feb 1, to a permitted 25% capacity with a 10 pm curfew this time around. What's the point of the curfew? I don't know. Is there more virus spreading raucous laughter, heavy breathing and slobbering after 10pm?
The journey from a very blue state, through red states, to a VERY blue state was edifying. Few people wear masks in Nebraska and Utah. It was so refreshing. Stayed in an old motel in Vernal,Utah. The birthplace of James Woods. It's on Route 6, which was the original coast to coast highway. My old man and his best friend made the drive from CT to SoCal after the war to go to school. His bud went to UCLA. My old man was an airplane mechanic and went to Bakersfield to get his AP license to work on jet engines. He always talked about Route 6. Route 6 was the main street in my hometown. I lived 4 blocks from it. It was serendipity and melancholy spending a night on the route my old man and who would be his best man, travelled in 1947.
Half were slated to go home. More are being recalled by state governors.
They tried to turn some minor vandalism into the Reichstag fire (the murders are another issue). Now they want Hindenburg to OK an emergency decree, but the panic just isn't there.

DeWidiot's done the same thing here. All the old people except The Blonde and me are scared, but everybody else knows it's a crock.
Suicides are up. ODs have tripled. Domestic violence is through the roof. People are cracking up.
Even Himmler tried to find a better solution for his people (not those people, the ones doing the soluting).

Bernie on a gurney - good one. "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" wasn't bad, either.
I'm still ruminating on the "25,000 armed troops in DC? Why didn't they send in social workers?" question snuck in between the Bernie mittens.
