Lyrics after the jump. Pretty edgy for Van Morrison
No more lockdown
No more government overreach
No more fascist police
Disturbing our peace
No more taking of our freedom
And our God-given rights
Pretending it's for our safety
When it's really to enslave
Who's running our country?
Who's running our world?
Examine it closely
And watch it unfurl
No more lockdown
No more threats
No more Imperial College
Scientists making up crooked facts
No more lockdown
No more pulling the wool over our eyes
No more celebrities telling us
Telling us what we're supposed to feel
No more status quo
Put your shoulder to the wheel
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more government overreach
No more fascist police
Disturbing our peace
No more taking of our freedom
And our God-given rights
Pretending it's for our safety
When it's really to enslave
Who's running our country?
Who's running our world?
Examine it closely
And watch it unfurl
No more lockdown
No more threats
No more Imperial College scientists
Making up crooked facts
No more lockdown
No more pulling the wool over our eyes
No more celebrities telling us
How we're supposed to feel
No more status quo
Gotta put your shoulder to the wheel
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown
No more lockdown

My favorite Van Morrison is still a Dylan cover from 1966: link. Beck completely stole that sound for "Jack-Ass."
Van wants back out on the road.
Just played it for my bride, we like it. Trump should play this @ his final rallies.
Very cool link, CL. I had that album back in the day. Probably heard that version before I ever heard Bobby D's original.
As for the new tune, Van should realize that as a subject he has no rights.
I assume he recorded that at home or something - he should have hired a producer, someone to introduce another key or chord or riff or hook or anything. He used to rock, and I say that as someone who has been a fan of Van the man for over 50 years now, since the days of Them. He sounds old. But that makes sense, as he is old.
Good stuff!
The Wretched Gretchen continues to "crack down" (her words) with a new ruling from the Health and Human Services Dept requiring all MI resterants and bars to start taking names and numbers
The new order reads: "All dine-in food service establishments must maintain accurate records of the names and phone numbers of patrons who purchase food for consumption on the premises, and the date and time of entry."
Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Director Robert Gordon said the new restrictions are requirements and fines and enforcement are in place.
It falls of course, on the servers, to obtain this data from their customers. Just how accurate this information will be or how accuracy is determined is anyone's guess.
oh yeah. After wondering from whence the phrase "crack down" originated, I found this:
Synonyms for crackdown
Synonyms: Verb
clamp down, crush, put down, quash, quell, repress, silence, slap down, snuff (out), squash, squelch, subdue, suppress
