I need your help (update 2)

Link to original post.

It occurs to me I've missed sharing with you how much exactly I need to raise, in order to (1) get my Drivers License back and (2) purchase a vehicle. (actually, it's the other way around, I have to have a vehicle with a tracking device installed in order to get the license back.)

I need approximately $5,000 in total. So far I've got $1,000 in savings and $716.50 in PayPal thru your generous donations. I texted my brother two days ago, but I haven't heard back. He's a good man. He gave me his old iPhone, I can't complain.

Did I mentioned I caught my employer shortchanging my pay, a few moths back? There is a good chance they were frequently doing this and I wasn't catching on because I was naively trusting that nobody would do something like that and... I'm lazy about keeping detailed track of my finances. I have to do better.

Below are phone screen captures of my PayPal account detailing the help I've received since I asked for your help my last update 1.

You know it's okay to blot out the initials, right?

It looks like you're a third of the way there, more than a quarter and less than halfway--definitely moving forward. And that's good! Also closing in on doubling what you'd saved when you asked for help, which from my point of view is what standing alongside another looks like. Still hoping a donor with deeper pockets shows up, while holding onto the vision and the reality of one step, one day at a time

I've a story to share about vision. When I was in high school, I used to set up a card table and chair outdoors in our front yard, under a large cherry tree and sit there with my typewriter, working on homework and writing letters. It was a beautiful tranquil spot to be as the front yard was surrounded by a wooded area on a bank overlooking a creek.

When the SonsM were adolescents we bought that house from my mom, and as a family put in a large above ground pool in the open area under the cherry tree. We'd bought the pool used off craigslist, and when it was finally in and finished, with a sunken walkway and garden surrounding it, it looked like it was situated in a grotto. MrM piped it for heat, and swimming in the warmed water on summer nights was close to heaven. I loved that pool and marveled over the years at the way it had come together. On one of my last swims right before our move into another home and life adventure, with the water as delightfully warm as the night, I heard the owl whoo whoooing and the awareness came to me then that I was in one reality that had been beyond my imagination when I sat in that very spot 45 years before and I was headed into another one that hadn't been in mind or on the horizon a year before, and I needed to honor my vision and trust the process.

In a pool of delight
Where I used to
Sit and type
Under the cherry tree
Wanting more than
could be provided
Imagined or seen
I hear the owl
calling me to wonder
Who? Who? Who?
Who could have imagined this?
Who knows what is yet to come?

Uber drivers are 1099 independent contractors, so you'll be responsible for all of your own expenses. Keeping detailed track of income and expenses will be essential to complying with federal, state and local taxes.

Have you considered driving for Walmart, Lem? I hear they're paying long haul drivers close to $90,000/yr.

Mommy's boys are lazy cocksuckers. But then again, when you have your mommy taking care of all of your finances it's easy to moralize. How much allowance does that jowly old cunt give you weekly, Needy?

If your DUI's are more recent than 7 years, Uber will not contract with you.

If you'll email me, I'll give you some private advise about the non wisdom of defaming MamaM. Wouldn't want you to feel hurt or offended by giving you public advice.

Go fuck yourself, do it today, asshole. Or, better yet, have your stepsons do it for you. You know you want it.

That's why I mentioned in my post I plan Uber after the interlock device is off.

If my math is correct, however, seven years is not a problem, my second and last DUI was in 2010. Thanks for the tip. Nonetheless.

I appreciate Lem's honesty and graciousness in responding as he did to comments made on this thread.

To my awareness, adults in substance abuse and alcohol recovery programs are usually in contact or fellowship with other adults who face similar challenges and issues, including those who've managed to consistently maintain sobriety long enough to serve as sponsors. As a group, they're intimately familiar with the consequences and requirements of DUI's as well as what types of jobs are open for those who've received them.

As friends go, I'd rather have one with first-hand knowledge of a job opportunity that might actually be open convey that information to me in a direct and private manner rather than use a public blog. I'd also want them to trust me to figure out what I need to know and do to move forward including where and when to ask for help when needed.

I haven't yet heard Lem asking the commenters on this blog for advice on how to be more manly, tips on job openings or information on Uber's policy with regard to DUI's.

Fuck off, Needy. You are blog herpes. Go shovel out your mommy's car so she can drive you to get some Depends.

Since it's starting to look to me as though the comments at 9:04 and 5:11 could be a cryptic response to a comment I previously made, a covert expression of contempt, a juvenile form of mockery, an invitation to more awareness or a deflection from the topic at hand; and I'm not clear as to what the motive or intent might me, I'll post my previous comment again, with a few more I's added, to stand as my personal expression of appreciation and awareness.

Lem,

Just dropped something in your jar. Keep working to get your thing together.
Two years ago I buried a brother who could not get past his substance issues.
Praying you'll be alright.
