2018 Midterm elections

Apparently there was some kind of national election. At least all the sites I visit suddenly became obsessed with it.

My local news sources are unreliable. All the news readers are smiling too much, and they're making predictions not supported with hard data. They're calling this an historic sweep for Colorado at least.

Jared Polis was elected Governor of Colorado reported as the America's first gay governor. Jewish besides. We were hoping for a black transexual but none were as qualified as Polis, and this serves nearly as well to prove to the world how wonderful and how progressive we are. Come along, we're all going over to the governor's office in the Capitol to celebrate and smoke pot.

Republicans winning in key Senate races in: Florida (Rick Scott), Missouri (Josh Hawley), Indiana (Mike Braun), North Dakota (Kevin Cramer), Tennessee (Marsha Blackburn), and Arizona (Martha McSally) looks good.   Disappointing loss for John James (Michigan).
Governor races also generally good for republicans in hot races: Florida (Ron DeSantis), Ohio (Mike Dewine).  Additionally, Georgia (Brian Kemp), South Dakota (Kristi Noem) looks good.  Disappointing results in Kansas (Kobach loss).
Comments to this post at Conservative Treehouse are very good.

In Virginia for a House seat Democrat Jennifer Wexton defeats Republican Barbara Comstock. Washington Times

Republican Mike Braun defeats Democrat JoeDonnelly in Indiana for Senate seat. National Review.

Democrat Joe Manchin defeated Republican Patrick Morrisey in West Virginia for Senate. Washington Times

Democrat Bob Menendez prevailed over Bob Hugin in New Jersey for Senate. New York Post.

Republican Greg Abbott defeated Lupe Valdez for Texas governor. AP, a convoluted article that weaves several unrelated races.

Republican Kevin Cramer defeated Heidi Heitkamp in North Dakota for Senate. Washington Times.

Ted Cruz defeats Beto O'Rourke in Texas for Senate. Daily Mail [UK] where our politics is none of their business but there they are anyway sniffing our underpants and talking about our politics in their stupid-ass accents.

I thought McGreevey (McSleazy) from New Jersey was the first openly gay governor. Of course he only came out when he had to resign.

Mixed bag.

I thought 4 or 5 seats in the Senate, so we can be happy it's a solid win. House majority looks to be razor-thin from what I can gather (Politico says 1 seat), so it will probably be a lot of sound and fury. Considering how old miost of the Demos are, the House could flip back

Not to mention comedy gold.

The Eminent Mr Surber has similar thoughts.

This guy is the biggest phony ever. He ran as a moderate but he is Bernie Sanders. A total socialist.

Every tax measure went down in flames. It will be interesting to see if Polis rapes us anyway, He's gonna try.

The openly gay part is not accurate either. He doens't advertise his homosexuality. Actually - that might be one of his better qualities. That might change, however.

Menendez is vile - and New Jersey went for him.

The cult of the left endures.
