They did it again. You don't have to read them to know they just hired an upfront straight up racist. And they did this to be provocative. And it works. Their present defense of her is standard nonsense. The sound we hear is the band playing as their Titanic sinks.
The deets are all over the place. Actually, everywhere. If you haven't seen them then you're simply not reading. And the bird says to that, "Good for you."

Pinch is doing a Springtime For Hitler on the paper.
PS It's not everyday people vs the President, It's everyday people and the President vs the Lefties.
On everyday people and extraordinary gifts:
The back road to our new home takes us through farms on the outskirts of town. Since May I've been driving past the home of a woman I've often seen outside setting up and tending to a large garden in the field next to her house. The garden extends back quite a ways with several rows of flowers now blooming in the front rows of it Yesterday morning as I was driving by I noticed in passing a large U-Pick Flowers sign on a table set up next to the front row. I turned the car around and parked to find several pairs of scissors on the table and two watering cans full of water underneath next to a box of assorted plastic containers to use for vases. Twenty-five cents a stem, with payment to go in the collection jar on the table. I had a wonderful time picking myself a bouquet for $4.00, wondering while I was putting it together who would do such a thing while feeling thankful and blessed that they did. It didn't look like a money maker so much as someone offering their gift of time and effort to others for the fun and goodness of doing so, with a little something on the side.

She'll fit right in.
Their not even trying to hide the fact anymore.
Change the word "white" to "black" or "gay" in her tweets and she would never work in that town again. Concerns about racism by the left are all projection and posing. They really don't know how to treat a person until they know the skin color. Then they can love or hate correctly.
If the NYT went away over night... might I notice? Probably not.
Great anecdote, MamaM. Nice to be reminded such folks do still exist.
Nice to be reminded...
Yes. Restorative is the word that came up as I read your comment, XRay
Restorative: having the ability to restore health, strength, or a feeling of well-being.
This is likely a good business decision for the NYT. It's all about clicks, eyeballs and buzz now, and she's likely to bring them more of that. And I doubt they'll lose any of their regular readership over this.
If, for some reason, they suddenly tried to turn themselves into an unbiased, factually accurate source of news, you'd hear the howls of betrayal out to Montauk. They'd probably lose half their remaining subscribers.
