The Ballard of John McCain
John McCain is nearing the end. To the bitter end he remains a selfish and arrogant entitled douche bag who puts his own wants and desires over that of his family, party and nation.
He can clearly no longer do the job he was elected to under false pretenses. He is holding onto power with a death grip. The people of Arizona are without representation by their duly elected Senator. Now he is promoting a book where he can settle scores. He states that he wishes that Sarah Palin was never the candidate for Vice President of the Republican party. Well millions of Republicans wish a Democrat was not the Republican candidate for President when he ran. He consistently abandons conservative principles to garner the praise of the media and the Beltway establishment. He was always the Democrats favorite "Republican."
I know, I know he was a war hero. He should never have been in the position of crashing his plane and being taken prisoner. He crashed so many planes that he should have been grounded and made the latrine officer like fuckin' Ensign Pulver for fucks sake. But his father was an Admiral so he got innumerable chances to fuck up and get himself captured and tortured.
Now he has made sure that everyone knows that he doesn't want President Donald Trump at his funeral. He is fine with Bush and Obama and I don't know maybe Lady Graham screaming and tearing at his dress like Filomena when the Godfather died. Fair enough. President Trump will issue a classy statement and stay away. You certainly should be able to say who you want at your funeral.
But lets get the show on the road.

Why the swipe at Palin? Silly question. He's just a piece of mean mad, the type that gets worse with age.

McCain is and has always been a grandstander, including in Viet Nam.

Trump called him on his grandstanding with the haven't been captured remark.
Nobody else understood that.
When you saw people cutting their McCain/Palin signs in half and making them Palin/McCain, you knew who was top dog.
Songbird couldn't forgive that. He also couldn't forgive the fact Miss Sarah touched a real chord among people. The same chord the God Emperor touched.
She was one of the first steps toward where we are now. Fight back Conservative Republicans.
Songbird always wen t along to get along. And, just as Grahamnesty's his bitch, he was Lurch's.
I'm guessing he's not resigning yet because he doesnt want the Ward/Arpio/McSally AZ senate race for Flake's seat to split up and try to occupy his vacancy too. Maybe he is grooming someone to run first, perhaps getting gov Ducey to get in line behind his choice. Maybe he thinks he will live longer than Trump's presidency. Maybe he is just holding court.
Sometimes right before death - the grumpies set in. It's all good.
McCain isn't the biggest shit stain to grace DC for most of his adult life, but he's getting close with his asshole comments about Palin. FU old man.

This McCain was not a hero in the same sense as say Audie Murphy was. I think Trump was painting that line. On the other hand, Trump should somehow recognize that McCain didn't crack under torture. That must be heroism.
OK, the guys in the Hanoi Hilton named him Songbird for a reason. Like in the Senate, he went along to get along.
Like the SwiftBoaters and Lurch, the guys who served with him probably know him better than we do.
