BuzzFeed Editor: ‘All I Want For Christmas Is Full Communism Now’

Via The Wrap: A science editor at BuzzFeed UK raised a few eyebrows last week after some curious remarks about Communism.

“All I want for Christmas is full Communism now,” editor Kelly Oakes tweeted — before locking down her account after it was picked by right-wing media and the always ferocious James Woods.

What do you want for Christmas?

Full communism is readily available in various unfortunate locations throughout the world. Some of them are conveniently located right here in our very own hemisphere. So no need to wish - go out and seize the cray!

Also, technically, does "full communism" even exist? Isn't that the eschaton that these morons keep trying to immanetize?

Sad little white girl has no idea what a re-education camp feels like. She should investigate and check herself in.

Whirled peas with bacon.

I hope Santa brings you a brain, Kelly.

A mild winter. And a brain for Katy (I'm a copy cat).

Kelly.

Oh, it's a girl. This whole time I was imagining it was a dude who said that.

Shaggy Rogers talked about this yesterday. He was describing people younger than himself. I found his perceptions very interesting. I was interested in listening. I told him what I see everyday does not match what I read everyday. It's like war of the generations.

I just now recalled an old joke.

An old man is complaining to another.

"Sex, drugs, rock and roll.

Whatever happened to the old values?

Wine, women and song."

I feel a bit guilty because we left them with such a terrible mess.

We created an economic environment that demands higher education and then fucked up that education so badly it's nearly worthless and made the cost for it astronomical. And we did that in my lifetime. We literally turned young people into slaves. Its no wonder to me they think of different ways to be. Its no wonder they come out against capitalism when that's what they blame for their predicament instead of blaming us directly for abusing it. At this point, especially with internet and advanced communication, education should be virtually free. The adage goes, "information wants to be free" a rather dumb way of phrasing it but it's true. Experts in every field are eager to share what they learned, what they know. And yet colleges demand actual slavery in every meaningful sense of the word, while we mock and complain about them taking so long to grow up and them living in their parent's basement and our one-time president tells them give their birthday present money to his political party.

Shaggy said, millennials are very socially conscious. They really are socially responsible. And I see that street-level every single day. They're community-oriented. And it's a short stretch to communal type government. It's not them being weird. It's us collectively abusing our children through the government and the socioeconomic situation that we've imposed upon them.

The net-neutrality issue is telling. They want government regulation. They haven't a clue how that regulation buttresses the large capitalist corporations into monopolistic behavior. They cannot perceive opportunities lost. They don't know about investment forfeited and progress retarded. All they know is people should be treated equally and not be taken advantage of or divided out by things like access to internet speed. The idea of people paying more for higher speed is antithetic to their deeper community orientation such that they'll settle for monopolistic behavior that limits everyone's speed, but not know that.

Shaggy surprised me. He's gangly and ridiculous and fantastically entertaining but not stupid. He leaned in closely and said, "You know, the speed is already there. It's in a switch inside the boxes on poles outside. You just flick the switch, boom, higher speed. It's already available. Cable companies are managing it with governors to be slower for everyone, when all they have to do is flick the switch and its automatically faster for everyone."

I didn't argue. I just listened. There's more to it than that, but that is his perception. Even he understands why people younger than himself are socialistic and communistically-minded.

This girl does not surprise me. She does not alarm me. She does not anger me. I encounter her sense of social responsibility every single day.

Care to hear something a little bit funny?

Now that you've asked, I want one of these for Christmas, but grown men aren't supposed to play with model airplanes. Thing is, I have a perfect place to hang it and I'm in need of some hanging art. Plus I thing it celebrates American ingenuity.

This is not about millennials, this guy is my age or older.

He’s a bit messed up.

But first…

I went downstairs to CO-BREW to buy some wheat grain to mill myself for bread. They have some 50 types of grain in bins. I thought I could go in and say, “I’d like some red winter wheat berries. I’m looking for you highest protein wheat.” And they’d go, “Okay fine.”

But they have only a few types of wheat. And it’s white.

What a bummer!

So I bought five pounds.

Coming out of the door and onto the sidewalk that runs parallel with Broadway, a fairly, oh what’s the word for it … broad street. I encountered immediately an elderly man of negroid persuasion dressed in gray work clothes with orange tape stripes, as a road worker, and carrying a rake.

You want to go, “What’s with the rake?”

Because it’s strange.

Instead, I said, “Hello there.”

He stepped up to me abruptly with his hand extended.

I shifted one cane to the other to free my hand for shaking. He grabbed it and crushed my hand. His hand was larger than mine, thicker, and much rougher, and stronger. He clasped on solidly and drew closer into my ear, “Marines.”

“Marines forever.”

“Marines.”

“Marines forever.”

“Marines.”

“Marines.”

“Marines.”

I began to form the idea there might be something mental going on here.

I go, “Yea. Semper fi.”

He unclasped my hand.

And then I thought, you know, cutting my hair this short evokes the strangest reactions sometimes. He must have thought I am an ex-Marine due to my looks. I bet.

The whole thing was delightful.

I have another similar story too that happened yesterday but I won’t bother you with it now.

A scale model blimp would be cool too, in honor of the nearby blimp hangars. A large Hindenburg done up like a leaden Zeppelin would rock as well.

One good thing about Stalin and Mao, they killed more commies than everyone else.

I'd like to see a video of Kelly Oakes trying that commie line in the middle of a hand shake with Chip's Marine.

Can someone send this twat to the DPRK or Venezuela to give her the Christmas gift she's always wanted?
