"Democrats say they have deal with Trump on young immigrants"

Via Drudge:  The top House and Senate Democrats said Wednesday they had reached agreement with President Donald Trump to protect thousands of younger immigrants from deportation and fund some border security enhancements — not including Trump’s long-sought border wall.

The agreement, the latest instance of Trump ditching his own party to make common cause with the opposition, was announced by Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi following a White House dinner that Republican lawmakers weren’t invited to attend. It would enshrine protections for the nearly 800,000 immigrants brought illegally to this country as kids who had benefited from former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program, which provided temporary work permits and shielded recipients from deportation.

Trump ended the program earlier this month and gave Congress six months to come up with a legislative fix before the statuses of the so-called “Dreamers” begin to expire.

“We agreed to enshrine the protections of DACA into law quickly, and to work out a package of border security, excluding the wall, that’s acceptable to both sides,” Pelosi and Schumer said in a joint statement.

How is it the art of the deal to fold on DACA without at least getting wall funding?

He's playing Chuck and Nancy this week the way he played McConnell and Ryan last week.

Wall funding is separate.

Consider the counsel of Mr Surber. The reason tip-off were the words, "excluding the wall."

Of course the wall was excluded.

It's off the table.

President Trump has authorization for it. A 2006 law made it so. He is not going to relinquish that authority.

But there is no Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals law. It does not exist. DACA is an executive order, at best a blanket use of prosecutorial discretion.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions called it as unconstitutional.

Trump let the Pelosi-Schumer lie slide until this morning. He literally lost no sleep over it because their lie helps him in negotiations, and that is what they are doing: negotiating.

The only agreement they came to was what to talk about.

He made it plain to them that the wall is not negotiable.

The fact Chuckie jumped on it like that is the way they intimidate the Whigs. Commit them to something and they're afraid to demur.

Trump just says, "No".

You want to talk with the Bolsheviks about "dreamers?" You do it AFTER The Wall is up.

His tweets say otherwise.

His tweets repeat the language and stylings and emotion-based rhetoric of Democrat propaganda. He's using and insisting upon their legally distorted language of dreamers. His Tweets exclude all the subjects born here by illegal aliens that are not getting educations, and do not have jobs, and are not all that intelligent, nor all the families associated with them once they are legal, including the parents here squatting illegally that created this illegal mess. And bragging on them about having the jobs that American citizens don't have because the children of illegal squatters have them instead.

He cites repair to existing wall as indicating his greater wall is on track while the entire congress is still against funding it. Repeating the lullaby "the wall will be built" does not make a wall. (Since this wall is so g.d. important to his support)

He says in his tweets the matter must be voted on as if that's an insurmountable barrier, when the loyalty of our Congress is to Commerce Dept and not to American citizen voters who put those representatives in Washington. The votes already exist.

When blowing smoke up your ass was much more than just a saying.

If Trump waffles on this, and Tweets say that he is, then his support evaporates like ))) poof ((( ,

His supporters must see a very sharp reversal to what he has just now transmitted through tweets, and "no" will do just fine.

"You're fired!" Will be even better.

Deal maker indeed. We'll see who's the most happy with this deal.

But all that is artificially negative and it does no good to inhabit that space. For the sake of your soul you must refocus.

I just now made cheesy chicken enchiladas and gave away four to two ladies. I cannot even carry two small plates. Can you believe that? How pathetic. I have to use a little cart. Just for two small plates. Sometimes I disgust myself. They were delighted that someone dropped in and paid them attention. Instead of presenting them with another problem to solve. Even if they don't care for the chicken enchiladas. Maybe after one bite they w'll throw them away.. Maybe they won't like the chile. Maybe the cheese is too strong to suit them. Who knows? Still, they like the attention. They appreciate the gift.

And the smell is glorious.

Another food offering. More bribery by food. This actually works. Women like to taste things even if they don't like the whole thing. Maybe they're on a diet. If nothing else It gives them ideas for improvement, or confirms their version is better. Either way, good or bad, it still works.

It should does not sound strong. It sounds weak. Sad.

I guess we will see but if Trump does not make progress on a wall he is not getting reelected. And that is not from me, but James Woods.

Well, Ryan says no deal while Chuckie says Trump likes him (and remember, Chuckie is his Senator, so it's an odd time for Trump to warm up to him).

As I say, he's playing all of them.

dude, this is how you beat them. You turn their own Newspeak against them.

PS The big sellout to the Demos came a long time ago. The Whigs sing soprano at the Demo Christmas (sorry, Solstice) parties every year.

Repealing Obamacare, Tax Reform, Immigration Reform, Building a wall, Drain the Swamp, and Stop the Wars for others. Right now, I'll take 2 of the 6, but if Trump remains 0 for 6; I'm going to stay home next election. I got a more balanced Supreme Court, so the vote in 2016 has been worth it, but I need a bit more for 2020. Especially since my taxes are going to pay for Lois Lerner's, Koskinen's, Mueller's, Comey's, Hillary's, and Susan Rice's pensions, because of some unwritten rule they we don't punish the other Administration, even if they come up with new rules to prosecute the incoming Administration.

Amartel said...

The rule is that we don't punish the other Administration? I don't think so.
The RULE is that WE don't punish a prior or any Democrat administration. Ever. For anything.
The RULE is that WE do punish Republican administrations throughout their tenure, preferably by installing a prosecutor at the outset of the administration with an unlimited scope who is actively trolling for badness at all times throughout the Republican administration and thereafter. We lock up members of Republican administrations for slightly contradicting confusing timeline testimony and then we all celebrate and congratulate ourselves for being swell fellows, delivering justice and accountability and transparency.

Sorry, Leland. Wasn't meant to be personal but I will slow my roll.
Also, just saw on Instapundit where the name "DickinBimbos" comes from. I'd forgotten that! The Clintons are the Pandora's box of politics. The evil just keeps flying out.
