NYT: Days Before He Was Fired, Comey Asked for Money for Russia Investigation

Via MSN News: Days before he was fired, James B. Comey, the former F.B.I. director, asked the Justice Department for a significant increase in resources for the bureau’s investigation into Russia’s interference in the presidential election, according to three congressional officials who were briefed on his request.
Mr. Comey asked for the resources last week from Rod J. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, who also wrote the Justice Department’s memo that was used to justify the firing of Mr. Comey this week, the officials said.
There is only one little problem...

Trump doesn't care what the failing NY Times has to say.

The Democrats and traitors like McCain, Graham, Sasse and Collins would be butt hurt no matter when he did it. The sooner the better. The new assistant AG had time to review his work and sent out a powerful indictment of Comey's failures.

Trump has nothing to fear. That's what they don't get. He fired Comey on the eve of his testimony. Don't you think if he was afraid of Comey he would have kept him on.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is endemic.

Ugh. Why are all these government positions handed to lawyers? All they know is billing cycles and squeezing the client dry.

That McCrazy and Sasse are upset just shows Trump was right to fire him.

The Trump honeymoon is over. By that, I mean that this BS from liberals about Trump stealing the election by colluding with Russians is over. I'm sure that many in the Acela Corridor and the West Coast will continue to mention it; but the people who ran from Hillary just prior to the election and to Trump to make sure she would never be President, those people are done with this nonsense. The only people buying this shit are the people who as so set in their ways, they can't bring themselves to cut the cable cord. I have it on excellent authority that CBS News and CBS Primetime are winning the broadcast ratings because of the "Wheel of Fortune" time slot and the key demographic of 60 to Death bed ridden.

Leland is right.

Imagine all this, Comey's firing, [don't say defenestration, that's just showing off. There is no window involved and wrong to conjure one], The Russian connection, the timing, the timing, the timing, the shock of it, the rareness of it, the similarity of it to Nixon (although the last president to fire an FBI chief was Clinton) then details of Nixon similarities, all that detailed information delivered in a British accent for BBC. Right there enough to make you puke. And interviewing only Democrat principles so corrupted they reek, seeking only one side of things and getting only one side of things, only the opinions from the likes of Podesta, and Blumenthal and the rest down the line of Hillary advisers. The people they know. So now all British viewers are universally uniformly properly smugly informed. Just ask them.

I watched BBC struggle in explaining their woefully flawed perceptions of Comey firing in macabre fascination momentarily and silently thought to myself how much the television fiction writers are qualitatively better at this. I've seen a lot lately. Their stories are interwoven so intricately and they allow for the actors to fully inhabit characters that the whole thing becomes momentarily real. Were it a crossword, the scenes would be filler and I've seen some really beautiful writing in Star Trek Enterprise with the guy from Quantum Leap as captain, and Lie To Me, and NCIS, and Bones, and in Person of Interest.

I'm also seeing the same actors and actresses all over the place. One woman in particular does voices. She's a bit annoying actually because whatever character voice she's doing you know throughout she's put on the voice. It doesn't matter that she's good. I saw her again last night on Sense8. Great premise, incidentally and in places beautifully shot. In other places, hmmm, I don't know about the whole trans, gay, naked butts, full Monties, alternate self orgies.

That's how the last episode ended.

The characters are realizing that they have personal psychic connections with seven other individuals. They invade each other's dreams at first, they show up to comfort and when called by emotional duress. Each character is really 8 characters. One of the group is a bit twisted apparently.

Skip skip skippity skip

That's a thing done on all of them. I see the editors going,
--->"character development here" <---
Then the writers insert something wholly unrelated to moving the story forward, the Denobulian doctor Phlox cutting his insanely gross toenails that grow a gnarly two green curved inches every night. The whole point is to gross out their generally youthful viewers, And I'm all f'k'n skipitty doo dah dkipitty day, may oh my what a wonderful time to slide right on by.

On Bones they'll have the guy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the genius forensic scientist having a conversation in the car as they drive to murder scene. And they always have the best murder scenes and the best victims splayed open on the pathologist's table. Very imaginative and wild. And the discussion is about the genius being unable to avoid talking about him while on a date with his boss.

He said earlier that he dislikes the idea of them dating, not out of jealousy, but because he is what they have in common so he is what they will talk about. She assured him that he won't be. Then on the date she did accidentally relate an amusing story about meatloaf and eggs and the guy who doesn't want to be spoken about. Even though she's a genius, she's still a dope.

Upon realizing she goes, "Oh."

And all that in one of these things:

--->"character development here" <---

Something that doesn't advance the immediate plot but does allow writers to exercise their imaginations and their interweaving ability. This is the character's relationship across the series.

Thanks, Chick. I'm saddling up May 20th for a month-long ride, returning home for a few days in late June, then heading out for another month-long ride in the opposite direction. The time for being creative is going to be limited this summer.

I'll give this credit to Comey; his farewell letter was decent. Much better than the former US Attorney for NY.

Lost in the noise of Comey firing is the latest stupid judicial ruling that firing a CS for cause (cause being conviction of taking bribes) is unconstitutional unless done by a federal officer like the President; while Dems run around claiming the President should be impeached for firing no a CS. All this is the deep state trying to protect themselves and their jobs. We know they didn't get a the message last November, so let's not be too surprised then are behaving like the message wasn't sent. They'll get more Trump with this behavior, because the message senders haven't gone away or forgotten the message.
