"CNN Fires Kathy Griffin From New Year’s Show"

The termination comes one day after the comedienne posted a photo and video of her holding a fake severed head of President Donald Trump. She later apologized for the photo and video, saying it went too far, and removed it from her Twitter account. She had made it as part of a photo shoot with Tyler Shields, but they did not disclose what the project was.

Trump tweeted about the photo early on Wednesday, writing that Griffin “should be ashamed of herself.”

“My children, especially my 11-year-old son Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!”

she would have no comment beyond the apology video

Patent lie.

She'll be dining off this incident (she created to advance her career) for the next decade.

"Remember that time a movie prop caused the FBI, Secret Service and the entire Homeland Security to fly into action to rough up a simple comedian? Huh? Remember that?

"That's okay, Anderson Cooper, I'll still be with you on New Years. In my m-i-n-d. "

This will elevate her in the hateful entertainment industry. A superficial dog and pony outrage by the elites and then she's a princess by the end of the year.

I still remember when drawing a simple cartoon meant you had it coming for being so disrespectful.

Still think we're losing? This wouldn't have happened 10 years ago.

On a related note, Ken Jennings, the Jeopardy genius, proves himself the ass we knew by making light of Trump's son's reaction to the "joke".

Is CNN still playing all over US airports? If so how did they get that contract and maybe that had something to do with getting rid of her. I read where the Malaysia airplane that went missing played on CNN for weeks. Who wants to see that if you are ready to board?

As for Griffin (horrible disfigured mythological beast) I've no doubts plenty of TV offers will be rolling her way. Assholery didn't hurt Bill Maher or Rosie O'Donnell.

She'll definitely eat for free at Tiger Wood's restaurant. He's gotta be grateful.

Inexcusable, that picture. Who the hell thinks that's OK? Clearly she did then; the evidence speaks for itself. If I had my wannas, people would stop justifying vile shit in the name of humor. Vile is not funny. It's just not funny.

It isn't. Nothing like that is, no matter who does it and no matter against whom that they do it. Also, to bury the lede, it's flat-out wrong.

Kathy Griffin: Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.

This is CNN

I did not think this was a credible threat of violence, I think it looks bad to the rest of the world, and it is poor judgment, and it minimizes what ISIS does in real life. My fake news alarm goes off with the Baron story. CNN should fire her, but then CNN should fire a lot of their celebrity news readers. I’m not part of the pitchforks and torches crowd. I’ve never really thought she was all that funny, and I’m not a consumer of her services so my boycott would be ineffectual. But hey it is the leftist entertainment industry, she will be just fine.

I think the larger freakout is interesting. The BIG lesson of 2016 is who is manipulating whom and to what end? I try to understand that angle before putting my opinion out there.

There is nothing to see here folks. The intellectuals see this as nothing more than parody with a prop. They will laud her, take her under their wing and succor her. Sure, she's lost some immediate gigs, but this is a setup for a major rehabilitation come back in a year on Netflix. Where it will all be a giant joke, like she always intended it to be, minus the outrage of course. This is how leftists role. Throw a grenade into the crowd, wait for the pop, ask for humble forgiveness, wait, let simmer, serve hot and fresh in a while.

If you guys don't believe me, look at Casey Anthony, acquitted of the murder of her daughter, which everyone knows she did, including the judge, but is slowly returning to the public sphere, with a boyfriend (aka sugar daddy), and a new lease on life.

She should not lose her job. I don't believe in firing people for speech. Even disgusting vile speech like this.

She should be the spokes model for CNN. She it perfect embodiment of their sensibility. She is CNN.

She needs her own show.

Great comment rcommal.

ricpic,

Here's the truth of it: In fact, I do not know how to take your comment. It could be neutral; it could be praise; it could be sarcastic; it could be any number of things. You and I, so far as I know, don't have and never have had, a relationship within which I could know that. Fine. I say what I say and you say what you say; you say what you say and I say what I say.

There's at least one person here who, if willing, could attest to how absolutely disgusted I was, at the time, at the treatment of Sarah Palin a decade-ish ago. I found and thought it vile. At that time, in real time, I walked away from certain...writers...opinionators...faux reporters...& etc. .. and I said so publicly at the time.

Hell, I do have some principles, believe it or not.

And among those, a remarkable number of them enduring.
