In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead: Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields
(John McCrae May 3. 1915)

You would not have wanted a world where Kaiser Bill had won.
I don't get that sense at all. Not from this poem.

The dead are saying pick up our dispute we died for and continue because even though flowers grow here, if you don't, we won't rest and that means we'll haunt you.
It's a very good poem. Gave me the shivers.
I wouldn't have a problem if Kaiser Bill had won. We went to war to support the British Empire. Which managed to hold on until World War 2 came along.
World War 1 had just as much relevance to the United States as the Franco Prussian War. As the War of Jenkins Ear. It was the beginnings of the Deep State and Duopoly trying to use our blood and treasure for their ends.
George Washington would not have gone to war in Europe to protect England and France. Andy Jackson wouldn't either. Or old Abe Lincoln.
Only progressive globalists like Teddy Roosevelt and Wilson and FDR and all the rest who wanted us to stick our noses where they don't belong.
We are in a very precarious state right now. Just as we were in the beginning of World War l. There are a bunch of entangling alliances. NATO for one. They want to increase it. Bringing in every pissant country to make us go to war with Russia. Montenegro please!
If the Archduke gets assassinated.......if the Russians move in the Ukraine....if the NORKS bomb Seoul......it will go off. Then Flanders Field will be a bed of Roses in comparison.
We need to think of America First. Concentrate on American jobs. Protect the border. End Visa abuse. Fix the tax structure so American corporations will bring the jobs back.
We need to make America Great Again. Not Syria. Not North Korea. America.
That is why he won. Nothing more. Nothing less.

What are you warmongers going to say if a stray nuke hits Seoul or Tokyo?
What did Lord Halifax say to Neville when Winnie would get up and demand something be done about Hitler?
This started because Kim rattled his saber testing rockets in the Sea of Japan. If somebody dies, it's on him.
And it's a rough world. The day we could turn away ended 3/4 of a century ago. Kim talks about hitting Hawaii because that's how you scare a Democrat into giving him what he wants.
Problem is, he never stops wanting. And he'll make sure he has a missile that can hit LA or San Fiasco, so Pelosi will wet her drawers.
History is repetitive.
I know.
Let me introduce to the Arch Duke Ferdinand.
This is the prelude to WW1 not WW2.

The liberal response for decades has been to turn the other butt cheek. Guys like Jim Webb were shown the door when they gave the "wrong" answer to the debate question: "Black Lives Matter or All Lives Matter?"
This is not 1941 and the entangling alliances of those days, predicated on one's word and a sense of honor, no longer exist.
If the Norks fire off a hot one, the real nucular powers will be standing in line to remove the Kims en masse.
Nobody's going to defend Serbia any more than they did 25 years ago.
You think?
McCain and Graham and Bill Kristol are all lined up to Archduke Ferdinand the Ukraine and Montenegro.
Take you head out of the sand ed.
Trump is dead wrong to go along with the globalist war machine.

Well, it's a pure what if question. But the great likelihood is that Germany would have imposed a treaty as punitive as Versailles, except in the opposite direction. Which means that France and England would have been shackled to a huge and debilitating debt, not Germany. The conditions in a victorious Germany would likely have been much less conducive to the rise of Hitler. And the Austro-Hungarian Empire would have remained tenuously intact. The effect on America would have been even more interesting. Perhaps if America had entered WW I and NOT been the force that tipped the scales the appetite for American Empire would have been lessened, considerably. All in all, not so terrible. Unless you were French.
Unless you were French.
Or Russian. The big "what if" doesn't deal with the German Russian question. Lenin would have still come to power after murdering the Romanovs. The Germans and Russians would still have clashed on ideological grounds.
The basic fundamental clash was between the West with its Judeo-Christian heritage and the new religion of Marx and Lenin. We are still fighting this but it's now triangulated with the oil-fueled mania of Islam.
That's why we were able to ally with the Russians right up until the end of WWII but then turn on a dime and defend the same physical turf that Hitler had.
