Tales of New York
So today is a beautiful spring like day. I was walking to the store and I saw a beautiful New York Scene. A little bit of a cliché but still a Tale of New York.
You see there were four motorcycle cops lazing around and joking and laughing. In front of a Donut Shop. I had to immortalize it without getting arrested. Of course they were so lazy they didn't even notice.
Listen there is nobody more Law and Order than me. No not the commie TV series but the fact that we need to keep the knuckleheads under control. But that doesn't blind me to the faults of the police. The biggest of which is that they are just lazy bastards.
The motorcycle cops are supposed to be the elite. Better trained. Used for special details. I bet they were protecting someone who was eating in the Marco Polo restaurant. Or it could be that they are just lazy bastards.
Still it isn't that often that you get to see a living breathing walking talking farting belching cliché in action. I had to immortalize it for posterity.

Who's that skinny guy?
"Still it isn't that often that you get to see a living breathing walking talking farting belching cliché in action."
Yeah, and there were policemen there, too.
But seriously, you look better. It's almost as if all that stuff you have been writing about your dietary changes isn't bullshit.
Good job.
Sexy beast.
I'm just finishing up "Rogue Lawyer" by John Grisham. Total guy book - drips with testosterone.
I recommend. Related.
Thank youse guys.
Look for more pool pictures here at Lem's Levity.
That will be sure to get us banned from Blogger.
It was the first day you got to wear a light jacket since October. It is sure to still have some cold days. Traditionally it is freezing on Paddy's Day so we still can't put away the winter coat but it is a beautiful day.
I need to be where it is warm. Enough with this snow and cold shit.
One does what one must.
David Ben-Gurion said that.
Svelte and dangerous!
Grr, I can't stand Grisham.
Turow is a much better writer.
I wouldn't want those cops as my first line of defense. Are they gonna fart the threat into submission? Not one of them looks like he'd stick the landing getting off the motorcycle. Apparently, they're there to signal that Someone Important is in the area, which is counterproductive to safety to the extent that there's actually a threat to that Someone.
I am currently reading a book about how a World War One German Cruiser goes back in time to the time of the Roman Empire that is being attacked by the Vandals. It is a E Book and was obviously self published. In fact I am on the second book in the series.
It seems to be a trend in time travel books. A ship goes into another world. The Destroyerman series leaps to mind along with the 1632 empire. There was another one where a Army combat team goes back to Dinosaur times.
What would you think about a time traveler who went back in time to the 1930's to become a Mafia kingpin? That might be pretty interesting.
My first Grisham read. Thought I'd give it a whirl.
Grisham is very overrated. But he does tell a story and it is a page turner. It is just too full of liberal piety for me.
Someone was talking about Allen Drury and "Advise and Consent." A very good book that talks about the Senate in the 1960's. He wrote a whole series of political thrillers back in the day that I enjoyed. They would be a little dated but they are certainly fun. Trying to pick out who are the real life counterparts to the Senators is very interest. For instance Seab Cooley is Sam Ervin. A good read.
At least the cops are out there every day not like the fireman who only have to go to fires. I guess cops aren't allowed meal breaks. Or are u so smart that u know thier schedule. Maybe they were coming back from a funeral escort. Why dont u stop by the firehouse n see how many firemen were sleeping while they get paid. Or were the fireman working (sleeping) thru one of there shifts were they get paid for working 48 hours straight shifts
then off for a week. Maybe u should write a chapter about that in ur book
Or write a chapter about all the firemen that were caught on camera stealing people's belongs going thru thier desks when the first world trade center bombing took place.
Hey I know there are lazy people in every profession. I guess if I passed by some store owner in an empty store not doing anything I should say what a lazy bastard this guy is . There r no customers why isn't he sweeping the sidewalk or handing out flyers, no wonder his business is failing.
As far as elite goes that would b ESU. BUT Of course u knew that being that u know everything. And know everyone.
Amartel, My bride dealt w/ Turow when she worked in Chicago and he was an AUSA. "Very sharp and pompous" was how she described him. I doubt that is shocking to you.
Titus you are just not believable when you try to post as someone else.
Be true to yourself buddy. Don't try to be a trans-conservative. We won't let you in the bathroom.
