She was far ahead of her time. In fact if she were around today she would be social justice warrior's wet dream.
In the 1920's she was caught monkeying around with a big black guy who was killed by the police. Black Lives did not matter back then. She later took up with a Mexican and changed her look to fit in down in Taco Town. Famous as a blond she went into a Latin Look that she sports in this old timey photo.
So whose that girl?

I wouldn't know on a good day, say what you may, yea or nay, on the quay by the bay but she does look a bit gay as a jay.
Two days after her death at 96, the lights of the Empire State Building were extinguished for 15 minutes in her memory
Add way to go to the list, if not way to be remembered.
Her most famous role was in 1933. There was also a famous scene of several men shaken from a log into a pit of despair. Like the "flower girl scene in "Frankenstein." it was deleted.
Getting back to the exorbitant interest rates we discussed the other day, when I was in Japan once I saw a guy wearing a t-shirt that read "Viva Vira". I am not making that up.
She has beautiful eyes.
