The Useless Generation
In this superb book, Tom
Brokaw goes out into America, to tell through the stories of individual men and
women the story of a generation, America's citizen heroes and heroines who came
of age during the Trump Administration
and went on to be-clown America. This generation was united not only by
a common purpose, but also by common values—greed, sloth, liberal piety, thin
skins, hatred of non-conformity, rabid social liberalism and, above all, lack
of responsibility for oneself. In this
book, you will meet people whose everyday lives reveal how a generation
persevered through living in their parents basement, and were trained by it,
and then went on to create vapid and useless lives and the America we have
today.
In this book you'll meet people like Michele Goldberg, who once accused a man of rape because he rode in an elevator with her. You'll hear Jackie Coakley talk about how, as a feminist student she set up a fraud that destroyed Rolling Stone Magazine and the whole idea of campus rape. And so, Coakley says, "I learned about how you can lie and get away with it scot free." You'll meet nerdy pajama boy Josh Weinstein who became famous by squealing like a woman when he met Hillary at a diner and peed himself in his jeggings. You will meet the cream of the crop of the Useless Generation and learn why there will be no one around to pay the bills when you are drooling on yourself at the nursing home.

Making Adult Footie Pajamas Great Again!
Trump has his deplorables, Hillary has her dependables, adult diaper wearers.
Why wallow in such ugliness?
Life is short.
It's nice to know that while some people are out beating these folks up and making death threats, you're ok with just generic ridicule. I thought it was contempt for the rubes that was the bigger problem. No, it's not enough contempt for leftists. Obviously.
Very good.
And, dare we add, Brokaw is one of the most useless.
"hatred of non-conformity"
And their parents and grandparent, who taught them all this, prided themselves on their own non-conformity back in their hippie dippy days when they refused to conform by all looking alike.
Well clearly no newsman is good enough for the alt-right. Goebbels will do instead. But he's dead. Let's go with Bannon. A pied piper who doesn't have to say the words, just call the tune. And his minions will lead the way!
" thin skins, hatred of non-conformity,"
You left out my myopia, and hypocrisy.
So bags... are you to become neo-alt right, too? The shops not closed to industrialists, you know!
Here's Fred Koch's take in 1938 on hard work and its connection to good politics:
"Although nobody agrees with me, I am of the opinion that the only sound countries in the world are Germany, Italy, and Japan, simply because they are all working and working hard."
Industrialists and alt-right of the world, unite!

That photo of that poor boy is eternally hilarious. Skinny tender boy cupping his hot cocoa. What should he do tomorrow? Shop at the GAP or get a latte?
Actually- Germans these day kick our sad lazy US asses in most things. Does that make me a Nazi for saying so?
Also forgot the $100,000 plus college debt combined with no entry level work experience until age 25, while seeking managerial positions. They want to lead people because it pays better, not because they know what the people are doing. To them the people are just uneducated hicks despite most of their heroes in art and literature lacking formal higher education.
But maybe that's a bit much, so I'll take what you got Troop.
Actually- Germans these day kick our sad lazy US asses in most things. Does that make me a Nazi for saying so?
How thoughtful. (For a right-winger). Are Germans led by Nazis nowadays? No. So I guess there's your answer.
Did you desire even more enlightenment today? How about this: Germany, like the rest of Europe, figured out that they could be as productive as they wanted to be with a social democracy - and also found that it staved off the Nazis and fascists. Perhaps lopsided immigration policies fucked that up now, but it seems to have been a very stable experiment in preventing the rise of another Schickelgruber.
So apparently America's finally coming to terms with the same realizations. Either it goes social-welfare democracy, or the working poor keep getting fucked over so bad that they vote fascist. It's a pretty predictable conundrum.
You can thank me for this minor history lesson any time.
Or just keep sounding ridiculous on what it takes to keep America from replacing the stars and stripes with red, black and white crooked crosses.
But maybe that sort of thing doesn't matter to you. Wasn't Colorado part of The Man in the High Castle's neutral zone?
Sorry R&B - certain ideological perversions keep people poor.
The old R&B is back. Don't ever go full old R&B.
Hillary!
Browkaw is a tool.
I miss Paul Harvey. Browkaw attempts to be Paul Harvey, but instead comes off as a preening lecturing proggy douchebag.
Browkaw was better when he praised the greatest generation. Yes - PJ cuppy boy ain't it.
Thank you for the offer, but, no thank you.
You see, *sticks hand inside shirt like Napoleon* the examples cited have all made the news because they are so ridiculous, so outrageous, so high-profile, so well discussed. They do not represent a generation. Not by a long shot. Those are the goofballs of their generation.
Matt Maloney of present GrubHub fame does not represent the thousands of millennials employed by GrubHub that do the everyday organizing and running around and delivering that breathes life into GrubHub. I've met at least of dozen of them and to a person they're all outstanding. Hard working, ambitious, energetic, strong, focused, sensible, well-meaning, and filled to their ears with genuine grace.
And handsome besides, well dressed, well groomed, well spoken, and exceedingly respectful and gracious.
I just now interacted with a score of Best Buy employees, twice, for long periods, once for the Samsung phone and another for the flat screen, all millennials, and to a person they are all of the same description. Gracious, smart, generous, kind, well trained, well educated, friendly, engaging.
And most of all fun.
So I am not having it. This Brokaw person of whom you speak, an old fart innit. This tired worn out generation is jealous of the energy and the positive drive and the overarching grace of real working, down to earth, rubber meets the road millennials that apparently Brokaw never encounters in his Sky Land isolation. He's sought out entirely the wrong representatives for his book. They are not the faces for their generation. He sought out the jokes of their generation and puts them up as examples.
Bad show.
I'll take the average un-college educated millennial over the educated one anytime. Nothing robs a young person today of ambition, common sense, and drive more completely than the modern American university, and the culture that convinces people it is the only way to success.
Ritmo, I'm hardly an "industrialist". I'm a hard-working, dirty, sweating factory worker who is very well paid. My CEO desk is a folding table, I put on work clothes everyday that are full of holes, because they would be anyway by the end of the day. My hands are never completely healed, despite the fact that I wear gloves 10 hours a day. I struggle with honest hard-working young men and women to solve hands-on problems on the day shift, and then I get another crew started at night, and it's pure bliss. I wouldn't do anything else, even if I won the lottery, which I did very very slowly. I loved it just as much when I made $50 for 12 hours of it.
Sorry R&B - certain ideological perversions keep people poor.
Yes! There is only ONE reason for poverty! ONLY ONE! It's ideology that kept our hunter-gatherer ancestors poor, too.
The old R&B is back. Don't ever go full old R&B.
Hillary!
The new April has sworn allegiance to her leader. And she's not sure if she's a Nazi or not.
The right-wing apparently has no mind. So it substitutes with conformity.
The woman who can't think for herself has returned. Sad. No wonder Hillary threatened you. Those of us with a voice and a brain aren't afraid of any of these assholes. But our friends in the other party obviously can't be counted on to hold their own accountable, that's for sure.
So are you more the cowardly lion, April? Or the scarecrow? Maybe a bit of both?
Yes, I know you want recognition for your labors, bags - if not for your rewards. But this election wasn't about you. Or your likes. (Finally). It WAS about that uneducated kid, but obviously you alone couldn't provide for all his ilk. (Imagine that. Something you alone and all your other business owners couldn't solve. Astounding).
Trump OTOH is pretty well educated. Doesn't appear he learned anything, but I guess that's your guys' problem now.
The rest of your mini rant memo is convoluted. The problem with universities is they became gluts because we choked off other labor. There wasn't anything you and the other owner class could do anything about it. It was a political failure. Trump addressed that. Now he gets the chance to either deliver - or fail it the same way he did four or five or so of his businesses.
But don't kid yourself. The election wasn't about you. Or your source of labor. It was about something else. And that's the hinge on which he will succeed or fail, and with him, America.
But I realize you can't stop making it about you. When you figure out how to do that, we can discuss what happened to your country. Because I'm still not sure you get it.

PS In what do the Krauts kick us? These are the people who can't get rid of Angie Merkel.
A spectre is haunting America, the spectre of too much toilet paper. All the powers of old
democrats have entered into a holey alliance to exorcise this spectre: Pope and
Soros, Millenials and Gluten frees, Vermont Radicals and NSA police-spies.

April asked me if she was a Nazi. Why do I have to be drunk to give her an answer?
Why do you hate reading the threads you critique?
PS In what do the Krauts kick us? These are the people who can't get rid of Angie Merkel.
Are you responding to me as if I were April? Do I look like April? (I hope not. April's the one with the Uma Thurman avatar - in case visuals help you).
So she can answer you. She seemed to be talking about labor productivity.
Which has nothing to do with voting for Merkel or the issues surrounding that vote.
I'd add that they also kick our asses in clean energy. But Americans want simple, dirty oil.
Laziness starts in the mind. Americans hate thinking.
Show a better example, ed.
De-evolution
I guess I take it back. We could never be like Nazi Germany.
Nazi Germans had ambition. And a desire to think through where they wanted to go. (Except for that detour in Russia).
April and ed convince me that American alt-right neo-fascists simply aren't ambitious or thoughtful or vocal enough to be effective Nazi collaborators.
They are too useless even for that.
I guess Trump didn't have a mandate for the worst parts of his platform after all.
April and ed's mental laziness give me faith that America's too sluggish to go full Nazi.

Neither are Americans, but you wouldn't know that from the nightly news showing the emotionally unhinged and mentally deranged entitled adult diaper safety pinners throwing their collective temper tantrum, now would you. That's on you, you are their kin, but I'm not seeing you go our of your way to tell them to stop. Why? Maybe because they will turn you into a pinata perhaps?
Willie returns to form. Just as he thinks he should have been the font of all political wisdom in '00, now he says the Beast should have listened to him.

Rit can't comprehend a logical break, either.
Nazi Germans had ambition. And a desire to think through where they wanted to go.
Another Marge Schott. The idea of taking on the US and the British and French Empires was well thought out?
A lot of German generals thought otherwise.
April and ed's mental laziness give me faith that America's too sluggish to go full Nazi.
She may be misinformed and delusional, but the only mental laziness, as always, is Rit's.

Listen to them. What are they saying to you?
We know Paul Ryan is listening. When will the purges begin?
The guy who claims I think it's all about me just posted most of the drivel in this entire thread. The thing is, Ritmo, it actually is mostly about me, or at least people like me. Most of the jobs, the innovation, the growth, and the wealth of this nation and the taxes that it gorges itself are created by small business people, and the people who work with them - not politics, politicians, government or billionaires. The nightly news isn't about what's actually happening in our world, because the real world is dirty, unintelligible to the intelligencia, a crude but friendly insult, a hand up, an inside joke, and you wouldn't get any of it. You are ancillary to running of the machine: just the packaging, a blinking light nobody pays attention to, an OSHA manual in bad English in the bottom of a box under some dirty rags.
Something might be about you too, but you'll never find out until you figure out who you really are. You seem very confused about that.
ed, I realize you hate education. But that was incoherent even for an alt-right doublespeak expert.
I realize that you're still not sure whether being a Nazi is fashionable. But you're toothless, right? You'd fit right in at some of those Klan rallies.
You don't have to couch your ideas in doublespeak, ed. Come right out and tell everyone what you're thinking about your friends on the alt-right.
Your champion is now in the house, and he commands ALL of the government! Absolute power! Just what your party has pined for all these decades. One-party rule for America.
Why would you let your white nationalists down, now? How are you going to make your absolute power work for them?
And don't be a pussy and shove this all back on me. You endlessly weasel and worm your way out of answering a direct question. Answer all of these, and stop being a spineless toad.
Can someone translate what Bags just vomited out there into ordinary American speak? All I read in that mess was, "I'm awesome, the government should suck my dick. Even though I can't outvote the working poor."
Let me know what you care to add to that, Mr High and Mighty non-billionaire.

The nightly news isn't about what's actually happening in our world, because the real world is dirty, unintelligible to the intelligencia...
So the Nazi economy must have been just to your liking, then. RIght? Plenty of jobs, innovation, growth... etc. Not much use for intellectuals, either. Oh no! They purged the universities! And they were definitely people that thought it was all about them, also.
Bags is the engine upon which fascism toots along. He's quite proud of it, I can tell.
I said you wouldn't get it, and I can't help you find the real Ritmo. I think that you believing it depends on who is President, busily golfing the finest links, is probably not the right formula, but good luck in your quest.
You should give up trying to understand by applying the limited metaphors and comparisons at your disposal. This is beyond you, outside your rudimentary iconography, it's a world of experience and skill, practice and passion. It's a foreign language in a different universe that controls the one you think controls things. Your kind is just seeing the faint light in the distance, the dim glow of the SMOD.
That was about as interesting as a fortune cookie ribbon.
To re-cap:
Bags believes we don't do enough with our military.
So did the Nazis.
Bags believes religion is important for society.
Gott mit uns!
Bags believes he's special. He qualifies that by saying we're all special. Or we could be. If only each and every one of us were a small business owner.
Well, that would be great if we lived in a society with no plumbers, no doctors, no electricians. Basically no skilled trades or professions.
Well I'll be! I guess he is different from the Nazis in that way. But they still loved business! And business loved them!
He believes universities are bringing society down.
So did the Nazis.
(The universities have problems. But that's because we're not doing enough for labor and manufacturing. Not the other way around).
Bags doesn't seem to be very racist. Or even sexist. Or really anything-ist. Other than, me big awesome CEO-ist.
But there's an alt-right to fill in that gap for him. So he's good.
Let's proceed to do for America what Fred Koch did for his Axis clients. The realm must crank on! This engine won't start itself! And these fascists can't keep the bread of the economy baking without the bakery owners!
Actually the Republican party isn't all powerful. Donald Trump was elected President. He is only nominally a Republican. He is going to govern more from a pragmatic nationalist point of view.
For instance he is going to keep us out of wars. He is not going to buy into the neocon bullshit. If he picks Bolton he will keep him on a short leash. Or if it is Rudy he will use him as his Luca Brasi. The hit man he sends out or threatens people with to soften them up.
He is going to set up an infrastructure bill with targeted jobs going to the inner city. So that he can improve the lives of people as he has pledged to do. Americans. Not illegal Mexicans. He is a builder. That is what he knows how to do.
He is also going to change a bunch of trade deals so they are to our advantage. He is a cheap fuck and he will make the rest of the world pay up.
I actually think Ritmo is going to support his stuff more than he thinks.
Remember this is a class election not an ideology election. The ideologues have lost. That was why Ted Cruz sneaked into the Trump tower today.
I hope he brought his shine box.
You should give up trying to understand by applying the limited metaphors and comparisons at your disposal. This is beyond you, outside your rudimentary iconography, it's a world of experience and skill, practice and passion.
Whatever you say, Ted Cruz voter.
What's President Trump going to do for your globalism, Herr Bags?
I actually think Ritmo is going to support his stuff more than he thinks.
I think you're right, and that's fine with me. (And I think it will be fine w/Bags, too).
I just wish he'd do it without the baggage of the Bannons of the world. Not because Bannon's the worst guy in the world. But because of the baggage of what he brings with him.
Ritmo's in the bottle again. Y'all take easy on him. He'll be dried out tomorrow.
Ritmo you have to understand Bannon and Breitbart.
I have been talking about identity politics this whole election. Yes there are extremists in the alt right movement. Anti Semites. Bannon is not one of them. Nor is Trump. Although they enjoy and use their support.
The Democrats have their own extremist. Also a much greater number of Anti-Semites. A follower of the Nation of Islam Keith Ellison is up for Chairman of the Democratic National Committee. The Black Lives Matters crew have killed seven police officers so far this year and are an honored part of the Democratic Party.
When you play racial identity politics as the left has done and as Obama has specialized in the past eight years you can't complain when the whites decide to play racial identity politics too. It's too late to put the genie back in the bottle.

You are back to your old spaghetti on the wall routine. Throw it, see what sticks. You think the white power/Aryan nation/KKK bullshit is what drove this just because they may have endorsed Trump even though he repeatedly rejected their endorsements and ended up looking tailcoating stalkers? Please, white boy. You and the rest of the left's tone deafness on this subject is more of the fecal fixation your side loves to use against those who's views they cannot tolerate.
Please, continue to insult hardworking people for even more decades by calling them every name in the sun, while you think this is the nefarious underhanded sorcerous workings of guys in white sheets and see what continues to happen. The nation had enough of it and they pretty much gave the left a giant collective FUCK YOU. Then the great Soros astroturf movement kicks into high gear and you want to promote the LA times and Vox as bastions of legit reporting of how this is the Alt-Rights doing?
I'd laugh in your fucking face and then sic Harry Reids brother on your ribs and eye socket using gym bands to seal the deal. Get the fuck out of here with your nonsense. It's never ending with you always thinking that you are one step ahead when you're consistently regressive.
Bannon is just the latest attempt by the media and the Democrats to demonize Trump. But there is one crucial difference with Trump and the JebbieMcRubio types.
He doesn't give a shit what the media says. Today he left them behind and went out to eat at the 21 club. All of their bullshit don't mean beans. Bannon will produce what Trump wants or he will get fired. As will Prebius. That's the way Trump rolls.

Sure, he's basically saying you are a third rate, unproductive douche, who's contribution to anything is nothing more than an afterthought. Basically, you're a man-hole cover. Just there, doing nothing other making sure the plebes don't fall through a hole. Bravo.
Saying that the KKK endorses Trump doesn't bother him. It doesn't bother his supporters. That bullshit shame game doesn't fly anymore.
Trump will be judged on his actions. Not on the opinions of the elitists of either the New York Times or the National Review.
That is why Trump got a significant increase in the black and Latino vote over Romney. And why his support in their community will increase. Because they know all this hype is just bullshit.
That's the thing, man. I pretty much agree with you. Bannon's not all that bad and certainly neither is Trump. It's just their comfort with using that support to work for them that gets under my skin. And at least you see it. I don't see why the others are so offended by admitting it. You want me to admit that the left turns a blind eye to disreputable deplorables like LA RAZA and some odd black panther group or such? Ok, they do. But the same's happening here.
And their stunning loss this great was their own repudiation of obsessive identity politics. You think you're the only one who's sick of it? The contempt I feel for a party so dumb as to think it could use racial politics to outweigh basic economics... Let me just tell you: I seethe. I seethe. And I'm glad these idiotic blind race warriors got trounced. I yell at their tears. These people are selfish assholes of the worst sort.
So don't you worry about me not calling these people out. I'm fine with backlashing against PC. And identity politics.
But it happened to the left the right way - with a massive electoral loss. Hopefully now they'll learn.
I just want to know what's going to keep it in check in the new party that has every branch of government and massive state control.
Sure, he's basically saying you are a third rate, unproductive douche, who's contribution to anything is nothing more than an afterthought. Basically, you're a man-hole cover. Just there, doing nothing other making sure the plebes don't fall through a hole. Bravo.
And this is why you will lose the midterms, and every election after that. Because you feel the same way about the working class poor who voted Trump in. I know it's not just me against whom you direct this sort of classist assholery. You feel it about anyone who makes less than you. Or him, really. Which includes you.
"What's President Trump going to do for your globalism..."
It's right there in the name: global-ism is bigger than him, bigger than any of us. I judge people by their actions, and I expect them mostly to do what they always have in the past, so he will use it to his advantage, that's what we all do. That's what you do every single day when you buy something. Do you ever choose without looking at the price? Like most vices of self-interest, we use our words to bitch about others doing it, while we support it with our actions.
I know Trump understands the mechanism - better than most. The question is how much does Trump love this country? I think he loves it a great deal, but so does a poor mother who spoils her child. Discipline and wisdom is what you owe to what you love. We shall see, but I'm quite optimistic, especially with your Democrats chewing on dust. They kill their children.

No, he's just trying to soothe the wounds of failure and bandwagonning the latest leftist screed of seeing a guy like Bannon who's now been characterized as a jew-killing nazi going to hold a position of power. I mean, it's all he's ever done is swing in the political wind to see how he's going to stage his next target of hate. So this time it's calling the right fascists and nazi's. I mean what is this like the thousandths time that this old saw has been used? His ideologogy limits his intellectual scope to seeing boogeymen everywhere, but waiting for his marching orders to see focus his manufactured outrage like a lightbulb instead.
Looks like Methadras got back on the HATE train, again.
Prayer might help.
Oh Jesus. Bannon doesn't have to be a boy scout to see that he's the worst possible appointment for that job. It's just a blatantly provocative move. You don't like race wars and identity politics? Show some good faith and demand the axing of that guy. It's about merit. He's wrong for the job. I'm sure there's some job in the cabinet who says he wants to "make America great again" where a dude with baggage that heavy would work. Symbolism matters. This is not the country he thinks it is.
What is going to keep Trump in check is that he is not really a hard line Republican conservative. I know because I am a hardline social conservative. He does not share my views. But he is going to use common sense. He is not going make a big deal about gay marriage. But he is also not going to force churches to have them if they don't want to. He doesn't care about contraception. Hell he probably paid for a bunch of abortions. But he will not stand for partial birth abortion or force nuns to pay for them for their employees.
He will get more opposition from the Republicans than he will from the Democrats. If he puts up a tough trade bill with tariffs to protect American jobs he will get Sanders and Pochontas to rally behind it. The corporate Republicans will listen to their masters unless he can throw enough of a scare into them to get them to back down. He will make deals to build coalitions. But he will not be able to steamroll anything. He is going to have to fight for everything.
Remember who is against him. The media first and foremost. The Democrats. Both the establishment and the conservative Republicans. He only has the people and his supporters. And of course the dogs he will break to heel. You know. Like Ted Cruz.
You are going to be surprised.
...Democrats chewing on dust. They kill their children.
I know. With education.
And nepotistic jobs at foundations. Like Trump's!
What is it with you and your hatred for anyone who wanted the best for their kids? I think you just hate the idea of family.

No, actually it is you that I direct my assholery towards and people like you. Thinking they are the paragons of virtue taking up the banner to fight for the little guy who neither wants or cares for their help, but you force it upon them anyway. Using the working class poor as your latest status victim is just another worn out ploy playing to no one but your ilk. It's always victim-hood for your kind otherwise what will you have to screech about then. It's like being part of a gang that seeks revenge against a rival gang only to be the only guy standing against them because your fellow gang members were too chickenshit to have your back.
Pretending you are the champion of the working poor is about as laughable an internet meme. It's cute, it has some funny bits in it, but ultimately no one gives a fuck. I have nothing against the working poor, much less the working poor voting in their own interests for a guy like Trump, but you seem to be the only one that thinks he and his administration are Nazi's. The working poor don't seem to think so and they've pretty much told you to fuck off, but all you've done is insist they need your help. The lulz of it all.
Listen dude. I realize you are a man on a mission, but the problem is, is that no one gives a shit about your objective. Have fun pissing in the wind because no one cares about your boogeymen.
As far as losing the midterms you have something there. The fact is that the Republicans who don't sign on to a populist agenda will lose. Or be primaried out of office. Just don't think that the lefties are going to win.
This is a class election not an ideology election. The metric has changed. The Republicans have to recognize it just as much as the Democrats.

Hey, congratulations! Now you're getting it.
In leftie school you learn that hard work is for stupid people, capitalism is evil, disagreement is dangerous, and responsibility is a weapon you only expect of your enemies.
Suicidal after a period of demoralizing and emasculating selfishness. Yea, team!
Talk about paragons of virtue. This reads like a non-interventionist virtue manifesto. He loves the poor by not caring about them. Man, you're not coming across any more virtuous than me or anyone else with this.
It's self-interest that should be no less an incentive for the working poor. They do vote, you know. Bags doesn't get this, but people who studied enough history to know which of it is not worth a repeat - we get it.
I don't care if the solution comes from government, or trade, or whatever. I don't care if the solution is conservative, or progressive, or libertarian. And I'll give you a hint: Neither do they. But they're not so stupid to pretend that COC and Wall Street favors weren't just Republican wet dreams that the Clintons and their DNC totally glommed onto. Trust me, if Trump's cabinet - whatever it does - doesn't fix this, they'll vote them right out all over again.
But I get it. You have an ideology. And an election result that you'd like to hijack with that ideology.
Well then, by all means proceed - I guess. Don't let me stand in your way of copy and pasting some Milton Friedman and Hayek and whoever else onto this not-very-Republican-presidency-winning-candidate you just got.
That will just weigh him down more. And I suspect he likes a light load, ideologically. But feel free to burden him up with all sorts of ideological expectations that had nothing to do with the election returns. You've got free rein to do it, after all.
In leftie school you learn that hard work is for stupid people, capitalism is evil, disagreement is dangerous, and responsibility is a weapon you only expect of your enemies.
Quite an imagination there. Keep enjoying your windsurfing and other upper class affectations. After all, you earned it. Only you should be able to enjoy life. Only you. And the rest of your class. The heroes. Let's purge society of everyone else. Or at least push them aside. Pretend they don't exist, anyway.

The bottom line with Trump is that he is going to be a performance based president, not a graft based, go-along to get along president. If you don't perform, you're gone. The days of insulated bureaucratic laziness are going to be over from the house, to the senate, to the government as a whole. He's going to hold all of those swamp swimmers accountable and they are shaking in their boots over it because they know that at least for the next four years they will actually have to do some fucking work.
I think that we actually agree more than we disagree. We all want what is best for the country.
So the best thing to do is put your faith in the God-Emperor of the Cherry Blossom Throne and watch as he sets things right.
Amen.
What part of FUCK YOU LEFTISTS don't you understand?
You really are an angry ideological opportunist.
Read Trooper York. He gets it.
The reason I get it too is because I'm not a hard-core reactionary living in and rebelling against my idyllic SoCal surroundings. Have you ever been out of that state? When's the last time you've been to OH, northeast PA, or any of the other states upon which this election hinged? I'd say... never. I'm not far off on that guess, right? You don't know these people. You're living in a bubble of a state with a totally different economy. These people are Democrats. They don't care the tiniest shit pebble for your ridiculous culture war obsessions. Come on up here and let's visit them together. Deal? After all, you seem to think you speak for them so well.
So the best thing to do is put your faith in the God-Emperor of the Cherry Blossom Throne and watch as he sets things right.
I'll give him a chance and judge his performance on actions and results.
Which is probably exactly what the new apprentice wants.
I realize Methadras has totally other expectations for him. But the guy actually has a job to do.
There's a reason Milo Yannapoulos is speaking on college campuses and not abandoned rust belt factory floors.
Not worth getting angry about. Just reality.
Youse guys are both in the same ballpark. But because we enjoy the cut and slash of fighting we are cutting each other up.
I think you both be pleased at much of what Trump does. Not all of it. Not by a long shot. But a lot of it will be common sense reactions to situations that we can all get behind.
As you have both said....lets give him a chance and see what he does.
Meth is exactly right. Trump is results oriented. Not ideology oriented. So the bottom line will out. That is why he can work with Bannon to savage the press. That is why he can take on a bitter antagonist like Cruz and bend him to his will and use him like the tool that he is.
Results. Not rigid ideology.
To bring this thread back to it's roots: There is no rust belt any more. It rusted away over a decade ago. What we have now in these places are poorly educated, unskilled young people, with no respect for or understanding of the power of the things that can even dig you out of that crappy start. You just have to do something real. Start it, work it, get good, feel good, make your way, pass it on. But first of all, drop the coco, put on some clothes, find your balls, and get out the damned door! Nothing good is gonna happen on that couch.
Ok, I agree....
And not to quibble, but I'm not getting why savaging the press or putting Bannon in there to do it is necessary. Isn't the egg on their faces from massively boosting a loser and massively lambasting a winner embarrassment and disrepute enough?
I guess I saw how humbled they should have already been already by this. All those stupid predictions. All those polls.
I'm not getting what it is that Trump needs to rub their faces in. The shit's already all over it. (Not to be crude). Their credibility is gone, baby, gone. Permanently and massively damaged.
Do I misjudge?

Thank you Kevin Williamson.
The sunny version of Kevin Williamson. Your community isn't dying! It's just starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!
The era of vote-getting by telling people they're not trying hard enough is over.
"Their credibility is gone, baby, gone. Permanently and massively damaged."
What are they gonna do? It's their career, their religion, their raison d'etre.
They'll change their underwear and get right back to it. I bet full recovery with no signs of trauma in about 3 weeks.
I don't want their votes - I want their success, because it IS all about us - not politics, and expecting help from the strangers you vote for in some far away city is how they got in this hole. Obama didn't even make his coco.
I see that Methadras isn't the only one living in a California bubble.
...and expecting help from the strangers you vote for in some far away city is how they got in this hole...
Ah. So voting for the next D.C. White House occupant is a good enough luxury for you. Just not for them. I see.
You are the most bizarre person I've ever conversed with. You really think that pretending away the existence and/or interests of other people is a worthwhile and realistic cnversation to have.
I think your purpose here is done. DItto w/the election.
Nice to see Ritmo can come here since no one at the gated community wants anything to do with him, but he's charted new boundaries in the perspicacity of Godwin's Law.
And this is the guy who said he wanted the Beast to lose.
So he'd have a monopoly on calling everybody a racist?
That's so Choom Gang.
Actually R&B - never go full ed.
R&B wants an all intrusive punitive administrative state - run by his team's (read - Bernie and Warren - both frauds) bureaucracy.
Sweet! You guys are jerks for not wanting that.
Fill out your paper work and feel the progressive goodness.
Meth @ 11:59 - that was beautiful.
@ Meth The bottom line with Trump is that he is going to be a performance based president, not a graft based, go-along to get along president.
The entire democrat party machine a one giant sludge-pit of graft. Even holy king Bernie and fake Indian Warren are part of it.
The democrat unions destroyed and sold out American steel manufacturing a long time ago.
It's very telling how completely and permanently pissed-off Ritmo is over the fact that Bagoh provides jobs.
*fixed*
OT: F U Elizabeth Warren - JUST F U!
Maybe someday Baggy will provide jobs for US citizens - it could happen.

Outside of calling you wrong because that would be redundant. I'm fairly well traveled domestically and internationally and I've been through nearly all of Ohio and Pennsylvania. I'm not particularly worried about my perceptions of what I'm rebelling against in my idyllic SoCal surroundings. I've lived in San Diego my entire life. I come from a legal immigrant family who have all naturalized, except for my sister who was born here. I've seen the changes in this state as it tipped from red to now hardcore blue. I come from a blue collar family which was dirt poor when we got here. I know what it was like to be working poor not only from my family, but also from myself on my own. I'm not anymore and there was a reason for that. I didn't want to be poor, so I made sure I wasn't.
Pretending to get an abject lesson from you, regardless of where you are about the working poor is an irrelevant stunt on your part. You don't think there are working poor in SoCal? However, I've never claimed to speak for them and you know that. All I've ever done is advocate for them to get themselves out of being poor. Being poor is an individual construct, not a societal one. The working poor here are wealthy by 3rd world standards, so the perspective isn't really lost on me. However, I'm still not sure why you seem to think that the culture war matters or that the poor don't. Do you honestly believe that ignoring politics somehow makes politics ignores you?
The left have been masters of identity and racial politics and have been swimming on that side of the pool for decades and here you are trying to disuade people from thinking that due to socio-economic strata somehow the poor don't care about it like people like me do. In effect, what you've done is further demonstrate your further descent into cognitive dissonance. Literally missing what is before you and assuring yourself that you are it's hero. A solution looking for a problem and no one cares for your servility.
Someday Sixty will provide a single job for a U.S. Citizen. It could happen.
Till then, just talk about your values. I'm sure someone benefits from that courageous effort. How's the side business? I hope it's doing well, so our nation can get some taxes from that income which I'm sure you claim. Paying taxes is what real Americans like you and I do. Maybe you could jump off that lazy leftist clown wagon that attacks American business owners while they pay your share of the nation's bills. That's kinda lame, and the tribe isn't helped by that kind of backstabbing.
You are too stupid to argue with, baggy. But keep hiring illegals, that's what you are good at. That and destroying what was once a perfectly good borrowed liver.
There are few things I regret more than coming to April's defense on this blog a while back. One thing's for certain, she's a hypocritical moral coward of the highest order. Now that Trump's won, she's totally in love. Ga-ga. She reminds me of female cats who are provoked to go into heat once a new male invades the pride and kills her cubs. Being happy that Hillary didn't win is one thing; Applecart takes it much further and takes back every complaint she had about Trump - now seeing him as the second coming. Deplorable. She has the integrity of a cockroach. Completely incapable of dealing direct, and changing her tune to fit the political winds. At least ed believes what he says. April's about as much about expediency as Hillary. She saw herself in her. Praising me one moment and then throwing me under the bus the next.
Go squat in your own wretched Hillary-ness, you stupid boulder brain. You've got all the stability of Inga.
Being poor is an individual construct, not a societal one. The working poor here are wealthy by 3rd world standards, so the perspective isn't really lost on me.
Talk about cognitive dissonance! You're saying poverty only has meaning insofar as a comparison to some 3rd world standard, which America's poor don't have much opportunity to go visit anyway. That's the most societal construct I've ever heard. An individual construct says "a rich person is one who is happy with his lot/means."
However, I'm still not sure why you seem to think that the culture war matters or that the poor don't.
What? How is this not more dissonance? You're the one saying "culture war matters." I'm telling you that all those votes in the states he needed to win will happy go back blue if they feel he doesn't deliver economically. That's what they've said.
Do you honestly believe that ignoring politics somehow makes politics ignores you?
See above.
The left have been masters of identity and racial politics and have been swimming on that side of the pool for decades and here you are trying to disuade people from thinking that due to socio-economic strata somehow the poor don't care about it like people like me do.
It's awesome how you think individuality is so great --- right up until the second you put me into another one of your own "constructs." I have no identity, no thoughts - according to you. Just an affiliation.
It's very telling how completely and permanently pissed-off Ritmo is over the fact that Bagoh provides jobs.
Bags is a drunk and incoherent liar who jerks off to his own image in the mirror.
But some people will sell out at the drop of the hat. Like you, for instance, Inga-Apple.
Pathetic. Prostitutional. Bags has the excuse of promoting his lack of integrity as an economic crutch for himself and the little company he parades around like a proud peacock. You OTOH have no such excuse.
