"They are waiting for the perfect father"

Researcher Kylie Baldwin, who asked a group of women why they froze their eggs, said: 'I think they were looking for a hands-on father.

'And it was the absence of this particular type of potential father, not just the absence of any partner, that led them to freeze the eggs.

'It's not just about not having the right partner, it's about having the right dad for their child.'

Interestingly, some of the women were in a relationships – but froze their eggs because they didn't believe their partner was father material and were hoping someone better would come along.

They may be waiting a long time.

Women would have done this in the past if they could, because women love shopping, especially when their man doesn't know they're doing it.

I suspect most of the women that would freeze their eggs wouldn't know a perfect father if he came up and taught her how to be confident without the need of external support.

Isn't that the punch line to Terry Southern's "Candy"?

They want to be bedded by a bad boy Alpha (or at least fake Alpha) and have a reliable drudge horse Beta pay for and raise the bad boy's kids.

My advice to women looking for the perfect man; do not take advice from Huma or anyone that would take Huma's advice.

It makes complete sense to do this. Biologically speaking.

Of course, it's to be expected that none of them would dare question whether or not they could actually be the perfect mother - let alone the possibility that it's just as big a part of their predicament.

Those frozen eggs will never be fertilized.

It's natural selection at its finest: Self-selection. These perfectionists are essentially selecting themselves for an exit out of the gene pool.

I, for one, applaud it.

Ms. Perfect (panting): Fertilize my egg you hunk of perfection!

Mr. Perfect: Where do I put it, inside this tube?

Fresh eggs for me, with two live chicks, and a father who was hands-on in the process of making that happen.

Here's where that art/science thing blends again, as fathers are like artists who create and paint something wondrous one stroke at a time.
