Ratings are down....it is obviously racism! Because Patriotism is obviously Racism.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick says he has received death threats amid his growing protest movement against racial injustices and police brutality.

Kaepernick has refused to stand for the national anthem at 49ers games. Since he started the demonstration last month, the protest became a national story, and other NFL players, along with U.S. women's soccer star Megan Rapinoe, have joined in.

“One of the things I’ve noticed throughout this is there’s a lot of racism in this country disguised as patriotism,” Kaepernick said Tuesday. “And people want to take everything back to the flag, but that’s not what we’re talking about. We’re talking racial discrimination, inequalities and injustices that are happening across the nation.”

The quarterback has slowly amassed support from colleaguesveterans and President Barack Obama, who said Kaepernick has a right to protest.

Kaepernick, who spoke to reporters Tuesday from the 49ers' locker room, referred to the shooting of Terence Crutcher, 40, an unarmed black man killed Friday by police in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The U.S. Department of Justice has opened an investigation into whether a civil rights violation occurred during the fatal shooting.

“You have a situation like Terence Crutcher, where his car was broken down and he was looking for help and got murdered,” Kaepernick said. “That’s a perfect example of what this is about. I think it’ll be very telling what happens with the officer that killed him."

Kaepernick on Tuesday also said he will donate $100,000 in each of the next 10 months to organizations that work toward goals consistent with his message of fighting racial inequaly. He said a website will also be set up to track where the money is donated, and how it is being spent.

Kaepernick has already promised to donate the first $1 million he earns this season to charity. Kaepernick is slated to make at least $12.3 million this season.

Why doesn't he just donate money he already has? It's what a person would do if he actually cared about the cause and wasn't just trolling for attention.

This seems kind of racist, holding back money to fight racial inequality so he can ensure that he keeps his job. Straight up greedy racism. "One of the things I’ve noticed throughout this is there’s a lot of greed in this country disguised as anti-racism,” AMartel said Tuesday.

That's Lefties for you.

They go from "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism" to "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel" in less than a second.

We’re talking racial discrimination, inequalities and injustices that are happening across the nation.”

There's 2 sentences that juxtapose neatly.

BTW He raises Tulsa. I don't recall anyone disagreeing with Troop that the shooting wasn't righteous.

I also note he doesn't want to talk about Charlotte.

4% of blacks shot to death are killed by police

93% of blacks shot to death are killed by other blacks.

Seems he doesn't want to talk about black-on-black crime, either.

PS Scan both those links. Eye opening.

Is there anybody famous who hasn't gotten death threats? I bet Mother Teresa got a few. Big deal. There are millions of stupid people now easy communication at their finger tips. What the stupidest of them threaten means nothing.

The issue is not the flag or patriotism. It's that the supposed reason is a flat out lie and libel of cops and the nation as a whole. I don't mind such a protest, if it was factual.

I'm really concerned about police tactics that result in so many unjustified killings of innocent citizens and their pets. I believe they simply shoot to kill too easily. There also are far too many real assaults on innocent families and children by use of SWAT teams and forced entry of homes based on insufficient evidence and circumvention of due process. Often terrible damage is done to innocent families simply due to laziness, lack of concern, or the trusting of criminals as informants without vetting the info. That's the real problem with police, not some racial lie. If was about the true problem, I'd support it, but it's about lies. The shootings being highlighted by protesters are mostly unavoidable and justified.
