"
The percentage of females with infants is now the lowest in recorded U.S. history."
According to a CDC report today, the number of babies born per female in the U.S. is the lowest ever.
That rate is known as the national fertility rate (even though it measures reproduction, not the capacity for reproduction—fertility as it’s used colloquially). It has been tracked since 1909, and it has dropped more than 10 percent since 2007.
Beyond the social implications of this relative decline in baby production, it may be the best recent news for human health at a population level, as Earth is unsustainably full of humans. That’s tough to say without sounding “evil,” I’m told, but it’s a question of math. There is not enough space to house and feed everyone. Population growth has us on course for catastrophic famine and war that result from overpopulating a planet that is growing ever less habitable. (read more)

More Old Than Young: A Population Plague Spreads Around the Globe"
By 2030, 56 countries will have more people aged 65 and over than children under 15
It’s known as the historic reversal, and it appears irreversible: Places where the old outnumber kids.
What began in 1995 in a single country, Italy, will spread to 56 nations, economies as diverse as New Zealand and Georgia, by 2030. These are the findings of Joseph Chamie, who spent a quarter of a century studying population patterns at the United Nations in New York and now is an independent researcher.

Albert Brooks wrote a funny and interesting novel on this subject titled, 2030. It involves The Big One earthquake in Cali, the first Jew prez w/ mother issues, and the conflict between "the young", resentful for having to work harder to support, "the olds." This problem is a ticking time bomb for our children and grandchildren. No one has the balls to address it.
And yet the fruitful multiply like never before -- ask Titus. It's crazy.

Hate to break it to you, but our children aren't working harder to take care of us. Our children have the highest rate of unemployment of any age demographic. They ain't working.
Is this one reason the pols are filling our communities with immigrants at a record pace? (we know it's mostly to establish new democrat voting blocks)
Leland- agree. Young people are not working. Some are, but many have serious work-ethic deficiencies.
It is a NOVEL!
Been driving through Comancheria -- all I can think about is Cynthia Anne Parker and population changes.
Part of this is the economy.
Saw a piece a few months ago saying fertility hasn't been this bad since the 30s. when you don't know where your next meal is coming from, kids can be a luxury.
The other problem is the Church of abortion. Blacks make up 1/9 of the population, but have 1/3 of the abortions. Hispanics are 1/6 of the population, but have 1/4 of the abortions. When you're eliminating more than you're producing, you're losing.

Supposedly, that's Angie's excuse, but they've had over a century of socialism and the losing side of 2 world wars.

Partly true. Real unemployment is ~40% (several figures around that mark by several methods). Among blacks, it's double for every demographic you can name.
When all the jobs are going to the cheap labor imported by the Whigs (the real reason Ryan was so well funded), it's tough for the native borns to get a job.

Cool. Where, dare I ask?
The Sioux and Apache Wars only lasted about 20 years each. The Comanche Wars lasted over 50. What broke them, in part, was a global cholera pandemic in the 1850s that seriously cut their numbers. The other was the average white family had anywhere between 5 and 16 kids. A Comanche woman who had 3 kids (such as Cynthia Ann Parker) was considered incredibly prolific (most Plains Indian mothers wetnursed a baby until it was about 5 and abstained from sex throughout; hence polygamy)
That fact impeded the settlement of West Texas and Eastern New Mexico to the turn of the century.
PS Due to the importation, of American into TX (because Mexico couldn't pay people to live there), there only about 3500 Spanish-speakers in TX and the time of the Alamo and better than 30,000 Americans.

Ed- do not do that.
I've asked you NOT to respond to me or re-post anything I say.
You cannot go a single moment without obsessing over me.
Ed -
Do Not re-post ANY of my posts. I've asked you repeatedly, and you will not abide.
Christ Almighty, I just added a little background information.
I did not address you. I did not criticize you. I did not "stalk" you - I have never "stalked" you. I didn't even disagree with you.
If you have something to say about another comment and I address that comment also, am I also forbidden from answering that comment also?
Ed- I have NO interest in engaging with you.
Why can't you respect that?
Why not make it about the subject and not each other please.
OK, fuck it (to use someone's favorite word). If snowflakes rule, let's try it this way -

Supposedly, Angie Merkel's excuse for importing crazies is the dip in fertility, but they've had over a century of socialism and the losing side of 2 world wars.

Are we all happy now?
I don't think any sane person could think that a declining birth rate in America is good when the birth rate is probably stable or increasing in the crazy 3rd World nations. But that is what affluence and a bad economy will do to a birth rate in most 1st World nations.
I think we should offer a $5,000 per kid tax credit to all American citizens. Tax credit is per year from age 1-18. And get rid of the EITC.
Is it declining?
I've seen pieces that say Mexico's has been dropping and, even in the Islamic world, it's been going down.
If you have better info than I, feel free to share with the class.
Is that question for me Ed?
Yes, it's more rhetorical than anything.
As I say, I've seen some articles, but, if you have better info, I'm willing to listen.
Googled and found this: "Developing countries accounted for 97 percent of this growth because of the dual effects of high birth rates and young populations.."

OK, I know there are all kinds of stats out there.
Interesting it's Africa they pick as the leader. The have so many problems with disease.
Saw this and it caught my eye:
Asia. With a current population of 4.3 billion, Asia will likely experience a much smaller proportional increase than Africa but will still add about 1 billion people by 2050.
The one child policy is going to hit Red China hard.
Latin America. Latin America and the Caribbean is the developing region with the smallest proportional growth expected by 2050
This is why the Lefties want Moslems. they've pretty much gotten what they can out of Latin America.
YMMV
Well Mexico is keeping up their end. They've added 20 million to the population in 16 years.
It's their biggest export.
How will humanity survive without 7 billion more mouths to feed! Quick! The humans are in danger of going extinct!
