Las Vegas

Something happened in Las Vegas and did not stay there very well.

They're always butting into our business. Have you noticed that?

There is a subtle humiliation here of a Brit being frog marched.

SCOTT ADAMS: The Media Are Trying To Get Donald Trump Killed:

Back in 1997 I made a prediction in my book The Dilbert Future that seems to be coming true. It stated:

In the future, the media will kill famous people to generate news that people will care about. – The Dilbert Future (May 1997)

Three months later, the media chased Princess Di into a tunnel and created a dangerous situation that killed her but was terrific for television news ratings. The media didn’t plot to kill anyone, but they created a situation that made it likely someone important would die because of the way their business model works. That was the basis for my prediction.

Fast-forward to today and we see the media priming the public to try to kill Trump, or at least create some photogenic mayhem at a public event. Again, no one is sitting in a room plotting Trump’s death, but – let’s be honest – at least half of the media believes Trump is the next Hitler, and a Hitler assassination would be morally justified. Also great for ratings. The media would not be charged with any crime for triggering some nut to act. There would be no smoking gun. No guilt. No repercussions. Just better ratings and bonuses all around. . . .

I could go on, but you see how easy this is. The mainstream media can either portray Trump as Hitler or non-Hitler. So far, they have chosen (subconsciously I assume) the Hitler analogy all the way.

Got this back....

It's not a nefarious "media" plot. The media is simply reacting and reporting on what Donald Trump objectively is and recording the dangerous inflammatory shit he has been saying. If this leads to people wanting to kill him that's bad but what is the other option? Censorship? Press lying to us? What you call "the mainstream media" is merely a collection of independant people, some journalists, some political commentators, some celebrities...It's not a cohesive network. It's just a bunch of people who think Trump is a scary nutjob and talk about it.

Oh, por contrario, Mario. The press is not reporting on what Donald Trump objectively is. Not when they're continuously tossing out terms such as "casual racism" and then cite an examples where Trump dared to say the word "race." Not when their own racism shines through their projection. Saying the word race does not make one a racist. However that fairly well describes every single Democrat who's weighed in on the subject.

A lot of people want Trump dead.

He is Wat Tyler, he is Spartacus, he is Thomas Paine, maybe even a little Maximilien Robespierre.

He is dangerous to the NWO, to the Uni-Party, you name it.

April will show up with her usual blatting, but name someone who has shaken up things as much as he.

I don't doubt he realizes this and yet keeps on. nd and Allen and a few may disagree, but I think that's pretty gutsy of him.

And, to elaborate on Troop's theory, if he does end up dead, it won't be the end.

As Louis L'Amour once sagely observed, to kill a man is not necessarily to make an end of him.

A good example of media bias over at the once respectable PJ Media today.

Headline:

"Nearly HALF the GOP Wants the Convention to Ditch The Donald."

The article draws on a recent CNN poll. The poll asks "239 REGISTERED VOTERS WHO DESCRIBE THEMSELVES AS REPUBLICANS AND 170 WHO DESCRIBE THEMSELVES AS INDEPENDENTS WHO LEAN REPUBLICAN, FOR A TOTAL OF 409 REGISTERED REPUBLICANS" the question "If it were up to you, who would you rather see the Republican Party choose as its nominee for president - Donald Trump or someone else?"

The results show 51% Trump and 48% other and 1% no opinion. There's no reference to the convention itself in the question so the result is essentially a rerun of the primary vote. Yet PJ Media disingenuously uses the result to push it's support for a coup at the convention. The headline is a lie. The writer is a liar. And I'll add that CNN's intro somehow adds "Independents who lean Republican" to the Republican registration rolls making the lie even greater.

For Hillary the results are only slightly better with Hillary at 55% and Sanders or Other at 45%. Yet PJ Media does not claim that nearly half of the Democrat Party wants to ditch the Hillary at the convention. CNN also adds Independents to the Democrat Party in the set up for this question as they did for the Republicans.

That's just one example. You won't have to look far on "conservative" media sites to find dishonesty and propaganda and hysteria aimed directly at Trump. It's no wonder that he is having trouble gaining support when he's facing this type of othering and demonization from media people who claim to be on the right on a daily basis. Propaganda works. It works on some of us better than it does on others.

And yet I'm being told that I'm the one being conned.

Nicely put.

I guess Driscoll still runs the show at PJ Media.

Well, have fun, inaccurate polls make her happy.

Isn't the problem with the assumption that people simply have to agree with each other?

I don't find it surprising if 50% of Republicans would like to dump Trump. I wouldn't find it surprising if 50% of Democrats (every single one that voted for Bernie) would like Hillary to get dowsed with water and melt. There's probably even a bunch who would say so... say that they hope something happens so that the Democrats have to go back to Bernie.

We would never ever know because there is NO WAY that the Press would give more than a passing "oh, isn't it cute how dedicated Sander's supporters are" mention.

So yeah, there is certainly a problem with the Press.

And yeah, it's probably 90% the Press who are responsible for some dumb Brit kid to be angry and stupid and unhinged enough to grab a cop's gun.

Just one that's as hysterically biased as yours.

You did read Rabel's analysis, didn't you?

PS He's so inarticulate even the Demos are calling her Crooked Hillary.

I know a substantial subset of the Democrat Party doesn't like and doesn't want Hillary. Not just the Bernies, but all the Demos that switched to Trump.

Then you have the fact that the campaign managers for Cruz, Marco, and Jeb! all knew they were toast Labor Day last year. April just wants to hear anything that vindicates her hatred of Trump, but tell her there's a growing subset of NeverTrumpers who get the notion that, now that he's the nominee, we must all hang with Trump or be hanged with Hillary and it's all science fiction for her. And that doesn't count the many pieces I've read from guys who supported somebody else (Hell, I started out with Jindal and Walker with Rand as a maybe) who say Trump is gonna take it.

Are there people who'd like somebody else? Sure, one of them is Don Surber, one of Trump's staunchest supporters. He'd love another Thomas Paine, rather than Davy Crockett, but he sees the message as the important thing. Most people who vote Republican, I'm guessing, are willing to go with the majority. what we're seeing in that piece Rabel noted, is the party hacks who figure they lose if a guy who wants to do what's best for the people gets in.

As I say, this one's going to be event-driven. The revelation of the voterless elections in CO, the Orlando attack, Guccifer 2.0 hacking the DNC, and the ongoing soap opera of the emails are just a few. Toss in the all-seeing eye of interviews (what did in Cruz and always does in Hillary) and you have a year that defines the word volatile.

The Demos going for their knee-jerk option to Orlando is going to have more to do with what the landscape looks like than why Corey Lewandowski is going to work with Roger Stone (can't wait to see what that produces); in fact, that one's already fading.

YMMV, but the idea we're hearing all of this "dissension" is probably more due to the donors are willing to pay for it than any substantive grass roots push.

I don't know how much she likes Trump, but her analysis is hardly from the "shallow end".

You should be that good.

Hell, so should I.

Often as I read these posts between Ed and April, I just say, "Get a room already and just bone it out for fucks sake!!!" then I realize the imagery of it all and if they did get a room, then Troop would be there in the corner watching them with his hands down his pants and then I punch myself in the face to make it all go away.

No that's not quite right Meth. I don't like to watch other people doing things. I like to do my own thing.

Of course he won't be able to restrain himself and he will bang on the window to tell them they are doing it wrong. That they can't keep using the same phrases because it is boring. You know. Because he knows everything about everything.
