The Lefties went berserk on this one. How dast he joke about destroying a Communist country and our sworn enemy.

People say Trump has a thing about speaking first and thinking later. The chi chi crowd coined a special term for Reagan, "He shoots from the lip", and they thought it was terribly witty.

Reagan was classy, funny, eloquent, articulate and intelligent.

Trump is none of those things.

Thanks, Lem. Great clip.

Look at that face. That is honest to God, real, unreserved, uncalculated cheer and joy. We didn;t agree on everything but he was a good man as far as I can tell from a distance. The area out here where he lived is one of my favorite places. Also home to Michael Jackson, and the wonderful Cold Spring Tavern.

Tom Ball and Kenny Sultan play there all the time. A favorite of bikers and lovers and those who do both.

Wow April. I had you pegged as a Trumpkin.

You're full of it.

Reagan was criticized for the same things as Trump.

Lem - I don't do blind faith w/ candidates. I can applaud Trump for some of his Schick, some of his illusions and PC busting... but the rest of it stinks too much. I'm also pragmatic. He cannot beat Hillary with those negatives. Besides, I have a new rule: Anyone who gets the National Enquirer endorsement, loses my support.

They did say some of the same things about Reagan. The difference is they weren't true.

Dear corrupt left, go F yourselves said...

Reagan was authentic and studied. Also, he read books.

I've got Kenny & Tom on the speakers. I like. Who's the other guy?

bagoh20 said...

I never saw him with them before. They usually have a friend there who plays a cardboard box. Spare no expense.

bagoh20 said...

It's simply amazing how quick and accurate Kenny Ball switches from singing to playing the harmonica without losing a beat.

bagoh20 said...

Reagan actually outlawed the USSR, and they stayed outlawed.

You cannot beat good cardboard box thumpin'

Some were. Some weren't. Same with Trump.

At least he isn't the kind of sellout Cruz is.

So's Trump. Wharton degree. When it meant some thing.

Not to mention published author.

Cruz is leaps and bounds more like Reagan than that idiot Trump.

Saying "oh Trump's just like Reagan because they were both criticized" is lame, tired, and it makes poor Regan spin in his grave. Insulting.

Reagan wasn't an adulterer or a turncoat like Daddy Cruz.

Saying "oh Trump's just like Reagan because they were both criticized" is lame, tired, and it makes poor Regan spin in his grave. Insulting.

How would you know?

I lived through the Reagan Administration. I remember the insults thrown at him. A lot of them from people just like you and, yes, they're the same ones thrown at Trump, which you'd know if you ever pulled your head out of the sand to see what's going on.

You use him as a blow-up doll whenever you need him without any knowledge of what he was really like except for what some Cuckservative like Glenn Beck tells you. Reagan was no phony Conservative like Anointed.

What if Ed and April are AI programs?

I could easily be persuaded based on the repetitive nature of comments from both.

Obsessive at times, yet seemingly encouraged by their online friends.

Very dark sad thoughts after such a grandiose Easter I had, watching Lord of the Rings.

I respect you, but you can read this LINK and of course know you aren't being reasonable here.

///Oh yeah, well here is a great article giving truth in many varied ways including:

A) Stats verified over time, replicable, and true.

B) Great minds over super-eons of time creating words and phrases that form the basis for our entire conception of reality.

C) Horror documented for real by dispassionate men and women in war zones and sometimes indeed even casualties themselves in Egypt.

So duh admit how stupid your are.////

I will admit how stupid I am when you look at the vast majority of decency humanity has bequeathed Americans only such as those looking toward Truth and not lying liars profits as unevidence of envied experience or decency.

When you discount the former and only focus on the latter YOU LOSE EVERYONE.

Damnit why can't you undamn yourself by my words, my FUCKING amazing and beautiful and resonant and barely-fathomable to all-but-the-most-brilliant of minds when considering my overall A+++ decency and quickness-toward-the-assumption of dignity being contained within any definition of humanity-atom-form.

I am nothing but a sickly drunkard which is why I understand the allure of posting as maybe somehow Buckley might have posted, when I posted under the (then and still beta) notquiteunBuckley nomenclanture.

or the guild thing.

Sorry all.

Guildofcannonballs said...

But thing about this:

No Men Clan Sure.

nomenclature.

This could make some folks a bundle of cash, just not saying, but repeating because.

Guildofcannonballs said...

The money would be made by:

"No Men Cah uh AIN'T SURE!!!"

Dudes in Cali feel me here.

I ain't alone out here facing the great big unknown; not me. Having been blessed and prayed for since before birth as Catholic, my lack of exploration of Bad Things That Scare Me can, and has, been used against me.

Thank God I have had God fearing great people around me for so long.

My book will be my attempt to give back. I hate everything I write, that last phrase most, so I don't know how to do anything but blog comment "hit and run" as they say.

Thank God again for Easter. What an amazing neverending always-expanding indescribable inconceivable realty for all of us day to day.

I always wanted to be Emily Dickenson to Althouse's Colonial somebody, but Kathy Shaidle at Taki's called other people out and I took it to heart and now I have to reconsider the "knocked down so now you know what you stand for" type ethos yet,,,.

I'm sure Trump, the anti-Reagan, can win with his ever-shrinking male rage party.

Trump's favorable rating among women now at.... 23/70

ndspinelli said...

Chrissake, I never saw this as a white/male rager. That's EXACTLY what Trump is about. Then why not a Ray Odierno or some other male not a FUCKING EGOMANIAC?

ndspinelli said...

There are many w/m's that would not alienate women and still fulfill the w/m rage.

Steg said...

Are these polls worded just for who people like? Is it a definitive 'if you were voting RIGHT NOW, who would you be voting for?'?

My mother can not stand Trump, very much dislikes him, thinks him a misogynist, and whatnot.

That all out there, she feels like she is going to vote for him.

How many of these women who respond to these polls will still vote for Trump even if they don't like him? Won't that fit the profile of the 'irrational' Trump following?

I quote irrational, because it seems like suicide for the nation for a lot of people.

I have never been seriously depressed enough to contemplate suicide. I had the view for a long time that it was a cowards way out. One of my best friends disagreed, and tried to explain to me that the people who seriously consider this their best option are just completely at the end of their rope, and no matter which way they slice it death is the way to go.

So many normal people are at the T intersection, looking through the lens of R vs D. I believe like Nick noted over time that people are seeing past this duopoly now more than ever. PC has been killing normal people, even here in NJ there's some normal people who can't stand the way things are.

Voting R is worse than suicide for a certain demographic, same as D for the inverse. Then there is the mixed group of most people who are trying to make their decision, who see that no matter who we vote for, the suicide it is!

Enter Trump, who says, "Hey! IF we're gonna commit suicide, it's going to be the best, most rockin', YUUGEST, suicide party ever!"

Now most disaffected working people have got their suicide weapon, and the other demographics would rather their suicide weapon be the way of death instead.

Steg said...

Nick, I think it is because nobody else stepped up in a big time way. There was a void, Trump had all the right luck and bluster to fill it.

ndspinelli said...

Steg, If I have learned anything in my 63 years it is timing is critical to success. I'm on record saying for almost a decade that this country was ripe for a demagogue. If a dumb asshole like me could see it, an Ivy League, silver spoon, born on second thinks he hit a grand slam asshole like Trump could as well. It doesn't take "balls" for a guy like Trump to run. WTF does he have to lose, his dignity? LOL.

Steg said...

Nick - Heh. I know timing is critical, that's why I'm still single. Bad timing. Or maybe it's all the socialist women in these parts... Eh, it's probably still my fault.

I disagree though about the 'balls'. I think everyone in the political class has been effectively cowed by the PC police. That Milo clip where he reasons that Trump is the best bet we have to kill PC makes sense to me.

Nobody except a brave few spoke out. The media would lambast them, or, if they really wanted to be mean- not cover it at all.

Trump can not be ignored. He wasn't the first one to grow a pair, but he has the largest media personality ever in a Presidential race(?). He could not be buried. To take on the media complex as he has done- I don't think he could have done that without some testicular fortitude.

What has he to lose- peace of mind. The primary and general process are a shit fest, with the winner claiming a withering and harrowing four or eight years where they lose a decade due to stress and appear to put on twenty years quite fast.

Michelle Fields? Who needs that shit. He put himself there(running). That's only the small fry, too.

Steg said...

Fair enough, and thanks.

I was originally hoping for Walker... then Cruz... and then Walker dropped like a hot potato and Cruz just seems to needle people for reasons they can't put their finger on.

I still think a Trump/Cruz ticket would be awesome, though.
