My lady, who obviously has excellent taste in men, hates Sinatra - says he just talks, but I love him. Songs like this take me back to the 60's, which for me are not about the political and social upheaval that they are known for. I was just a kid, but I remember a time where our family was climbing out of absolute poverty after my mom secured a good job as a welder alongside my dad doubling our income. We moved into our own house, and remodeled it top to bottom by ourselves, we bought new cars, went on vacations, went fishing and camping, the adults had lots of parties with cigarettes, drinking, dirty jokes and a liberating lack of helicopter style "parenting".

My memory is of a nation that was proud and almost naturally successful, and the world leader in everything. The culture seemed joyful, innovative, and in love with humor, color and fun. We were smart, and respected, but almost childlike in our exploration of entertainment and science. We seemed to be riding a wave effortlessly. We were still romantic, but expressing it in new ways. Men were still men, and women were sexy and adorable, but we shared a more equal footing without animosity and competition. That's the way I saw it then, and the way I still do, and Sinatra brings it back every time.

One of his best live albums, if not the best. Awesome! Quincy, Count Basie and Sinatra at his late sixties peak.
