Honey Boo Boo's parents are back on TV.....Spinelli hardest hit!

Honey Boo Boo’s parents, “Mama June” Shannon and Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, will attempt to salvage their relationship by airing all their personal problems on national television. The WE network show “Marriage Boot Camp” launches Dec. 4.
“My sex life is not satisfying,” Sugar Bear says. “On a scale of 1 to 10 right now, it’s probably about a 2.”
“We don’t have sex anymore,” Mama June says. (To recap: that’s a “2” on the Sugar Bear Scale from 1 to 10.)
About a year ago TLC canceled “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” amid allegations that Mama June was seeing a convicted child molester, which she denied. It’s unclear if that’ll come up during the new show but they do seem to be taking a very candid approach.
Mama June and Sugar Bear, who had parted ways, reconciled and teamed up for a charity event , perhaps setting the stage for their path toward a more permanent reunion.
The parents of Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson aren’t actually married, although they did stage a “ceremony” during their previous reality show. Will they tie the knot officially after going on “Marriage Boot Camp?” It appears there’s some work to be done.
“I believe ‘Honey Boo Boo’ really did change you and us,” Sugar Bear says of the show that launched the family to national notoriety. “Before the show you wasn’t doing all this bitching. When the show comes around and you get in bitch mode, I can’t get it to stop now.”
Sugar Bear does seem open to change, though: “I need to grow up, stop cheating, stop running around and stop being a baby. What keeps me fighting for our relationship is I love her to death, and our kids.”

Sugar Bear is a philosopher for our time.
"I need to grow up, stop cheating, stop running around and stop being a baby."
Thank you.
Words to live by.
Should be in a PSA.
THE MORE YOU KNOW.
Also, his observations about how women behave when they are the "star" of a show are apt.

Why are all the good ones taken?

Where's Sixty when we need him for translation?

"Bless her heart I love her to death," is the way a Southerner covers all bases.

Where is Sixty, indeed.

Same place I have always been.

Merry Christmas to you, Spinnerman, and Happy Chanukah to you, Mr. Pic. Hope you are doing well.

As for others, listen to Hank Jr. sing "If Heaven Ain't a Lot Like Dixie" and "A Country Boy Can Survive". Better summations of my life philosophy have not been immortalized in song.

Hey Sixty, How's Mama June?

She really does look like a human thumb.

Sixty.

I think the mom's chin is pregnant.

Sixty, I hope this means you are going to comment again. I understand if not, and wish you a Happy Festivus. I miss your intellect and sardonic wit.

Bagoh - I was JUST looking for that. Thank you!

I will probably continue as I have - it seems the internet does just fine absent my input. Maybe even a bit better.

Nick, I hope you are doing well - and I hope you and Leslyn are enjoying the holiday season. She is the best, and I suspect you know that.

Be sure to listen - this some serious stuff!

Deborah - this is for you - we all need roots in the dark Delta earth. I am more partial to the hardwood forest, but The Pines have their own magic.

I have it on good authority that there's a rightwing militia living in her chins.

Thank you, Sixty.

Delta Spirit. Four songs from this group were practiced but there is no new vocabulary, nothing at all to work out, no decisions, no compromises, no style choices, and they're all too slow to be much use.

Although they're all lovely, interesting, and intriguing to interpret and a pleasure to have on the i-pod.

So, there you have it, bad points and good.

California [A bit overproduced in the studio. A lot of noise going on there]

White Table

Bushwick Blues

Salt in the Wound

Did I say four? Well, that would be short one. I meant to say five.

People C'mon

If you give these an honest listening then you will like them.

But if you are similar to a musically inclined one-time friend and basically one of those creatures that begins with a "c" and rhymes with "punt, runt, stunt, funt, hunt, vunt (German for want) then you will say, "Doesn't do anything for me" like he did when introduced to Adele's top three songs.

So it's entirely up to you.

I'm listening to Salt in the Wound again and being reminded why I added it. It's unexpected.

None of these were attractive enough to the kids for them to bother interpreting any of them. Insufficiently maudlin, I suppose. Too bad, they're perfect for beginners.

Sixty, Leslyn says hello. She does not want to wear out her welcome but would like you to read her manuscript for book 3, if you have the time. She is doing some revisions and will be done early next year. She has been busy helping w/ our first grandkid. I read the manuscript and think it's her best. It's about Gypsies. Hank, Jr. has a great whiskey voice.

I like Salt in the wound.

Nick, you know there is nothing I would rather do - I really like her work and will gladly read it and provide feedback. That's just how I roll. Send me an email - we can tawk...

And congrats on your grandchild - well done. I hope everyone is doing well.

In honor of my father's upcoming centenary, one of his favorite singers. About three minutes in Mahalia really lights it up.

More in keeping with the season.

ndspinelli said...

Wow! Happy birthday to your old man, Sixty.

MamaM said...

Yes indeedy, Mahalia lets it roll. Reaching the place where the Spirit reveals itself to be larger than the body that contains it and the music and words that let it loose.

A Sixty sighting, regardless of where one sleeps at night, is a festive/festivus occasion.

Thanks for the music and Louis' "everybody sing". Good listening.

Oh, he's been gone for years - died at 72. I should live so long. Need to start guzzling whiskey and smoking unfiltered Camels to make it to that advanced age and consume massive amounts of lard and sugar, and let's face it, those things just aren't going to happen. I am now as old as any of his children ever lived, so who knows, I might set a generational record if I make it to another birthday.

He did manage to live through the big flood on the Mississippi back in '27. Many didn't. Then they had that depression goin' on, then WWII, then, by golly, good times!

"Apropos of nothing, I swear!"

The Dude said...

Thanks, MamaM - by golly I think you get it! I hope you are doing well and that you and your family had a marvelous Thanksgiving.

Oh, I know - this one is for you!

A longtime favorite of mine - who doesn't long to stand on the rock where Moses stood?

Mah sax laff is too.

Here, Honey, you must inhale this platter of smothered burritos for the whole town in order to compensate.

Apart from the woman's corpulent corpuscles, I keep learning things without trying. Important things. Good things.

Poor e-hem-plo: The Nikon does not have internal memory. Instead a card is used.

The card can stay in and behave as internal memory or it can be removed and read by computer or by any inexpensive card reader.

The photo files are copied to the computer and adjusted from there. The memory card formatted and the a new round begun.

I learned the photos, hundreds at a time needn't be transferred to the laptop. There needn't be space made for it and there needn't be another drive attached to handle them. No. It can all happen right there on the little card, not writing per se, but storing what's written, without bothering the laptop except to facilitate Photoshop, and not to actually contain multiple piles of files.

All right there on that little bitty card by way of that teeny tiny cheap-ass card reader made of plastic, every bit the little plastic toy and yet it does so much, takes the place of so much. And it's the fastest easiest way of all.
