"Trump basically blamed his brother for ..."

*boink* That's where they're shut off. This is the dark haired woman on Fox's Outnumbered, and Trump did no such thing. We all heard the same thing, the made-for-t.v. interpretation unnecessary. "Blame him, or don't blame him, he was still president when it happened" is a common and logical point made regularly from day one and objections about internal obstacles preventing cross Department communication are already long challenged and all that is wrapped up anyway in the Conservative-embraced adage 'the buck stops here.' You've lived too long among liberal progressives when the buck of responsibility never does stop, and never at the top but diffuses to fog throughout. It is a simple statement, Fox, and you've mangled it.

He said no such thing, but he implied it. And really hard.

And that implication is what is meant by "he basically said..." interpretation.

When in fact Trump basically avoided saying that specifically. The interpretation nails the specific avoidance. He worded it just so, just so that you cannot have that interpretation, so do, do jump at that specific interpretation. Blame him or don't, you decided to blame him, he WAS president on the day of attack so the phrase "he kept us safe throughout" is patently false. So knock it off already.

There's that.

Here's another opposite.

"Whenever the subject of guns comes up, you and your loyal followers respond as Pavlovian dogs..."

I am a follower. Loyal, eh, I know little of that. This writer just called me a dog. A loyal stupid dog acting as Pavlov described his dogs. That is rude and I take umbrage. Notice, he didn't say, "Chip, you are a dog" just as Trump didn't blame Bush. Still, illogically, my umbrage allows me to attack. That's my new thing, you're an asshole, I am too. This asshole called me a dog. I dislike guns, but I dislike academic cream puff aggressive assholes worse. So I attack. And I don't care what the guy says in return to me. It means nothing. I know he didn't mean me specifically, that he knows nothing about me, and the argument is not mine, and I don't really care, but I did notice that, so I attacked. He attacked so I attacked back. That's all. All responses go straight to the trash. I just flat don't care what the guy says, my blood pressure spiked when I read his poo, I felt that, so I blood-pressure spiked him back, I hope so, I have no interest in argument, just biting. Like a dog. Like Pavlov's dog, come to think of it, he' a bit right there, I guess. Maybe I'll outgrow this phase. And maybe it'll get worse.

The point is he meant to blame W. as a way of poking at Jeb. That's why he said it. It was an unfair, dishonest and immature thing to say. You don't get to do that and then pretend you didn't mean it. What is this, junior high school? He keeps doing this shit too. It was cute the first few times. Now, it's just dumb.

If Trump gets the job, he's gonna piss us off and embarrass us big time. At least we can say Obama isn't our fault. We will own Trump, and I'll vote for him over Hillary or Bernie, who are too stupid and incompetent to even imagine after 8 years of Obama. Trump will disappoint us in major league fashion. I wouldn't be surprised if he resigned before his term ended, because he was failing. There is no bankruptcy court for failures in leadership. How long before people realize that bragging and bravado is just a different style of lying, and obfuscating.

The truth is I have no idea what Trump will do in office. I know what the Dems will do, and I definitely don't want that. Trump is promising things he can't deliver, and he isn't even trying to explain how he would do them, because nobody is demanding it. He's an unopened box in the world of politics, maybe a Pandora's box. I don't like what I'm seeing anymore. I would not be surprised if he chose Jack Webb as his running mate which is the best you can do in a Dem. - a good man, but far from conservative.

Lets say everything you say is true Bags. How can he embarrass us more than Obama? We can own it no problem. If he just works to fix immigration that it is a win/win.

You put your finger on something. Trumps VP pick will be vitally important. Imagine Scott Walker. Marco Rubio. Or my choice. Senator Tom Cotton.

If he chooses Jack Webb I will be really impressed since Jack Webb has been dead for twenty years.

He can't pick Martin Milner either. Just sayn'

What Trump is doing is exposing FOX for the establishment RHINO fortress that it really is and opening Conservatives eyes to the fact that they are really just part of the duopoly.

I'm wondering why Trump chose to take a shot at Bush just days before Hillary's testimony on Benghazi. It's as if he's saying Hillary is no more responsible for Benghazi than Bush was for 9/11. I'd like to think it was said to gain some more ground over Jeb but, as an "unopened box" as Bagoh said, who the hell knows?

Interesting times, eh?

The yelling over what he said about Dubya is dependent on people not reading what he actually said. If you do, you know he took no shot.

As I've said here and elsewhere, this is Jeb's last stand, trying to breathe some life into his run and the Demos acknowledging they're scared of him.

I love that.

Any politician is a surprise package - witness what McConnell and Boehner have wrought.

As for The Donald, I think what you see is what you get - a dealmaker and a fighter. After Little Lord Fauntleroy (or is that Faunt LeRoy?), I want a fighter, especially in a Republican; I do not want a nice guy or a gentleman. The dealmaking is what Presidents do - with Congress and with other countries.

As Troop and a few others have noted, Trump's ability to get the media to jump to his tune is an example of how The Art of the Deal is not just bluster, but what he does and what he does quite well.

Am I 100% comfortable with the idea of him in the White (not Rainbow) House?

No, but I have the similar concerns about Carson, Mrs Fiorina, Rand Paul, and Cruz. Jindal, I would trust and probably Walker and Perry, had they stayed in.

And picking Jack, or even Jim, Webb would be one of the those moves that would coalesce the right on his side and set the rest of the political world on its ear. Same with Sarah Palin.

Right now, I can't see any Demos I trust, and certainly no Whigs.

OK Jim Web, but Jack Web would be awesome. He could say to Hillary: "Just the facts, ma'am."

Trump is not going to "fix" immigration. That's just the sales pitch. Kinda like "It was owned by a little ol' lady who never drove over 30 mph on her way to the weed collective on Sundays."

Just how is he gonna fix immigration? He doesn't say, won't say, because he has no idea, and doesn't care if he can. He just needs to get you to sign the contract (vote for him), then tough if you don't like what you get.

His plan is: "It will be great." Imagine buying anything on that.

The embarrassment will be from falling for that.

If you just want someone to push things harder, then yea, he may be that guy, but look at his record on political positions. You may not want that stuff pushed harder.

If he had a history of conservative positions, then I would be in his corner even with the vague talk, but he is more likely to be a social democrat, spending other people's money with your blessing once he's in there. That's the embarrassment.

Admit it. You guys are just as concerned that you don't know what you'll get with Trump as I am.

If he gets frustrated and quits because he can't get his program through Congress and Tom Cotton gets in then it would be fine with me.

The Vice President will be a big thing.

But you know what? NO MATTER HOW BAD TRUMP FUCKS IT UP IT WILL STILL BE BETTER THAN HILLARY!!

Trump needs to pump up the demagoguery up to maximum warp!

There's always Operation Wetback*, followed with a fence like Hungary, Jordan, Israel, and Saudi Arabia have.

* Hoover and Truman had similar programs.

Maybe Senator Blutarsky could help.

They're just the ones to do it.

Trump needs to sit down with some smart advisors, do his homework, and start getting specific. I expect him as a CEO to not know everything and to hire good people to figure out the details. I thought he was gonna start doing that by now. I hope he really doesn't expect to win by just insulting and making fun of the opposition. I don't think that's a winning strategy, but what do I know. I never thought the stupid shit about hope and change and binders of women could win either. Maybe if we put Trump in blackface, a sombrero, or a dress... Oh hell, do all three.

edutcher said...

Well, if you want to just give up, why comment at all, but here's an answer.

You want to just go hide in your room and bitch to the walls, go ahead, but don't say there isn't a way.

Besides, it's past time to tell the Demos to screw themselves and hit the lawyers with a little Andrew Jackson.

Dubya was able to win in Iraq because he had the will to do so. What we need is a guy with the same will.

And I'll bet more than half the country would stand behind it.

bagoh20 said...

Let's just say that I need more than hope and change - no matter who's selling it. I need a plan before I'm gonna say yea, that's a good idea. What's Trump's plan? Sounds like the same old shit of saying nothing specific so the public can imagine you have ideas when you don't.

Is it too much for us to demand that a person who wants the job at least tell us what he would do if he got it. Trump isn't alone on this, so why don't people ask for specifics from all of them? Can you imagine hiring, for example, a sales manager for your company who just said: "I'll triple sales, and your other candidates suck ass. It'll be great. I'm really good at it." But they won't give you any specifics?

If we want better than just closing our eyes and hoping for the best, then it's up to us to demand more, and reserve our enthusiasm until we get it.
