There's still the stain of Chuckie Schumer on his blue dress.

I like Rubio.

All of the candidates are flawed and have made some mistakes... I sure hope the right doesn't eat itself in the pursuit of perfection.

I think Rubio can beat Hillary.

I'm not so sure about Cruz. I prefer Cruz, but I'm not sure there is cross-over appeal needed to win a major election.

I like Rand too. He's feisty and a little crazy - I like that. Rand takes it to the hack press and he understands that you fight the Clinton machine each and every day. All of the other candidates should learn that.

The tired candidates who should go away:
Jeb
Kasich
Cristie (the fat McCain)
Huckabee

What would make Rubio a lock on the nomination would be if Jeb Bush ceased his campaign and backed Rubio instead.

Just a guess, but I'll take credit for the idea if it happens. :-)

I can't entertain Kasich because he advocates regularly for a flat consumption tax (national sales tax) to replace other taxes...because 1.) consumption taxes, especially VAT's, are highly regressive. and 2.) Because he cannot guarantee the other taxes would go away. and 3.) The idea is along the lines of "you like your doctor, you can keep him, you like your plan, you can keep it." and 4.) The idea that a consumption tax would eliminate the IRS is comical...anyone who has dealt with state tax agencies over "sales taxes" knows better.

I like all the candidates so far, but until Christie crashes out and Walker can saunter in, then the race won't be very exciting. Bush can just go fuck himself.

I agree with AprilApple. Let's hope the right doesn't eat itself alive looking for Mr. Perfect; he doesn't exist. Rubio is impressive. Cruz is impressive. Rand is crazy and tougher than I thought. Walker is Everyman. We have a wealth of terrific candidates, any one of which would do a great job. Let's light this candle. This could be our last chance to save the Dream of America as a place of liberty and justice for all. thomasorourkeactor.blogspot.com

Marcy ... I agree, let's not have the right eat itself...or worse, promote a 3rd party candidate to assure a Hillary, or worse (is that possible?) in the White House, again. You are right, let's light this candle and not snuff it out.

I forgot about Walker for a second. I would be over the moon with a Scott Walker presidency.

Thanks Marcy.

A Scott Walker ticket with Rand Paul as VP would be acceptable to me and therefore would be a Paul Walker ticket just like the Fast n' Furious dead actor which would immediately give these guys the popularity press they need. VOTE FOR PAUL WALKER FOR PRESIDENT!!! I can see that now.

Methadras ... I don't think Christie has a chance in hell of getting the nomination.

That said, I'm not totally on board yet with any of the other candidates...but I appreciate the spread. What Marcy said sums it up.
