"A new breathalyzer kiosk from Uber aims to keep drunks off the road."
Called "Uber Safe," it's a small kiosk that allows potential riders to blow into a breathalyzer in order to determine whether they are over the legal limit. If they are, they are given the option to hail an Uber driver who will take them home free of charge.Nothing like market competition to help solve so called intractable societal problems.
The prototype for Uber Safe is currently being tested in Toronto, and, though Uber does intend to eventually install the system in more locations, there's no word yet on whether the rides will continue to be gratis.

I'm sort of curious to know how many people will take the money they would ordinarily have spent on a ride from Uber and now spend it on booze, instead.
Suddenly, I have become a perennial lush.
Most people would take the free ride and tip the driver extra good. Win win.
Free publicity for Uber, driver probably makes out the same or maybe even better, plus you have a potential new Uber customer.
