I think there will have to be some kind of schism along the lines of the Sunna/Shia split before this happens, but this is what has to happen.

al-Sisi seems unlikely to be an effective "reformer" since he represents civil authority, which the Islamists expressly reject.
I posted a video of Al Sisi's speech, it has translation.
This assumes that all the assholes who are clearly getting off on the killing and oppression of others are doing it purely out of religious conviction, rather than just a desire to kill and oppress.
