I was struck by the visceral delay. Why didn't he react viscerally sooner?
Once you are cognizant of the prank what is going on in the head of the pranked?
Going from fear to relief to revenge to judgment 'you could have given me a hart attack'.. and then upset with yourself maybe because you are at the wrong end of the deal.
My brother got a call last night from his ex that my brother's son, my nephew, was in his first car accident. He didn't get hurt. He fell asleep at the wheel and drove off the road past a fence stopping short of an exposed water pipe __/--\__ very common here in Florida.
All those calls were ways devised by the teenager to minimize the visceral reaction from his father.
I offered to go with my brother to pick him up, and in the car while going there I asked him not to be to harsh with the boy.
He wasn't. Which was a good thing.
My nephew didn't even get a ticket. The policeman interviewed both separately my nephew and my brother, and determined that he was tired. Called for a tow and we were on our way back home.
One of the back tires was too damaged so the car was un-drivable.

The masks, creepy fingers, and fog are good, but the cheap bathrobes give it away. Then AGAIN, it is dark so - yiukes!
We expect an invasion from advanced civilizations and they are all wearing bathrobes. Telling.
ot: NBC wanted a pro-democrat comedian to host "Meet the Press". That's telling too..
