KLEM FM

It's just so cool. "Spoonful" was on Cream's 1966 debut album and it's another Willie Dixon original, first recorded by Howlin' Wolf.

No spoonerisms from Sixty, please.

Well, we can cross that road when we come to it, am I right?

You can see and hear that Clapton is no longer young in that recording. Compared to the live version recorded in Winterland back when the world was young, he is slower and less daring. He admits as much himself. Still good, mind you, but it's got to be difficult to compare yourself to a younger version of yourself, at least when that younger version was Clapton.

Chick, I peeked a few times during my break...thanks for the WLEM homages...I missed you all too! And thanks for the two songs Sixty, you big sack of goo :)

Sixty, are you saying that Clapton's hand has slowed? You've got a few years on me I believe -- which goes first, the hand or the mind? Should I be concerned too?

Hey deborah, glad to see you back!

You are welcome, ms. deb. And you are right.

As for Clapton, yep, old age is catching up with him, too. He will be 70 next year - he has earned the right to be as slow as he wants to be.

Chick, as far as your faux Margarita, what are you using to pour the form? It looks amazing.

chickelit said...

I pour it in the glass and add the "ice."

@chick: Oh. Yeah. Why didn't I think of that?
