News From Down The Interstate
There's all kinds of news from down the interstate highway that runs from here to over yonder in Madison, and then beyond. We'll just hop off in Madison today, because that's where the news is. It's the news of shitty people doing shitty things. And as is often the case in Madison, the shittiest people who do the shittiest things are the Democrats and their allies.
Set the Wayback Machine for 2010 and remember that Scott Walker won the gubernatorial race with 52% of the vote. Governor Walker then enacted reforms that among other things, reduced the power of unions to strongarm public employees for monthly dues, and then use those dues to buy elections. Union membership dropped drastically, as state and local government workers opted out. Several union locals voted to de-certify. Numbskulls took over the state capitol, made murder threats against the Walker family and so forth. You remember all this, of course.
This led to Governor being recalled in a very acrimonious election, which he won, this time by 53%.
The Milwaukee County DA, a staunch Democrat, wanted to throw the recall election, so a trumped-up "John Doe" investigation into Walker and several aides was launched. Mucho secrecy, hush hush, leak leak. After looking in every possible place for evidence of Walker's having committed a crime, no crime was found. It was all very STASI - agents kicking down people's doors in the wee hours, seizing computers and telephones and filing cabinets, and so forth. But the prosecutors got bupkus.
That investigation is over. But for revenge, the hack judge running the sham of an investigation decided "secrecy, schmecrecy" and released to the news media some 27,000 pages of emails that had been seized during the investigation. All the usual media suspects are now winnowing through the emails, proclaiming that this or that will require apologies and bowing and scraping and must surely end Walker's career. Here's the NYT article, for example.
You've heard or read, of course that the great whisperers have been whispering Walker's name as a potential candidate for the US presidency in 2016. That's the election that has been set aside for Hillary Clinton so that she can levitate straightaway into the Oval Office, which will than be re-named the Ovary Office. Huzzah! Well, for Walker to be considered a viable presidential candidate in 2016, he must first win re-election in 2014. The Democrats, of course, don't want that and are willing to do ANYTHING to defeat Walker.
And by ANYTHING, they mean these things:
First, the Milwaukee County DA has launched a second John Doe investigation, this time aimed at the groups in Wisconsin who supported Walker. Some 29 organizations have been targeted, have had their records seized (including information on all donors). Organizers of those groups have been threatened with arrest if they so much as talk about the investigation. This has had the chilling effect of negating those organizations abilities to raise money used in independent interest group advertising for Walker's campaign. By the way, did I mention that 18 members of the Milwaukee County DA's office signed the Walker re-call petitions? They did. Totally unbiased investigation, though.
Second, a George Soros backed PAC called American Bridge 21st Century is pouring through all 27,000 pages of the newly released, hitherto secret emails, misinterpret them, and put up whatever kinds of crap they choose onto their spanking new website. Here's an article about Soros' group and what they are doing, thanks to Soros' $1 million donation. Soros, of course, is a co-chair of the Clinton campaign's fund raising arm.
Third, the Big Labor is jumping in with big money. The AFL-CIO has announced that it will spend $300 million to take out five Republican governors, most notably, Scott Walker. This is happening, of course while the IRS is making to impossible for grass-roots conservative groups to obtain their necessary 501(c)(4) status approvals, thereby suppressing voter rallying, get out the vote efforts; and while the the DA's office is making it impossible for existing conservative groups in Wisconsin to raise funds.
That's the news from down the interstate for today. Do you know the difference between governmental fascism and the Democrat party? Nope, I don't either. They look pretty much the same form this part of the woods.

Yeah, it's shitty stuff.
But... and there's always a but...
That's the way the game is played nowadays. I believe in never getting involved in a game unless you want to play by the rules.
Especially when the rules are that there are no rules.
Dexterity is required. Particularly for Republican candidates picking their way through the minefields laid by Democrats and their allies in the press.
Duly Tweeted. Good article MH.
Gracias, Lem.
Walker's Chief of Staff wrote an email about a (probably fake) dream in which he woke up to find that he was disadvantaged in various ways (gay, bald, unemployed, black, HIV+, drug addict, jewish orphan with a pacemaker and a Mexican boyfriend) all of which he could handle but that he was also a Democrat (the nightmare part).
The following conclusions are foregone in the MSM:
-This email is racist.
-The racism is Scott Walker's fault (attributable to Walker because ... uhrm ... vicarious liability or something like that).
This is just the tip of the iceberg with what they are going to throw at Walker.
You can be sure that they will go to town on the fact that he doesn't have a college degree.
Meanwhile Obama wants to put a commissar in every newsroom and douchenozzle lap dogs like Chris Matthews and Rachael Maddow and David Gregory don't say shit. It is to laugh.
I hope Walker has enough balls to fight. So far only Rand Paul and Ted Cruz have shown that they will mix it up. Tough guy Chris Christie has proven to be the media's bitch. Thank God he is out of the mix.
@Trooper
I hope Walker knows how to navigate the minefield.
That's the test, isn't it?
Walker would be hard to beat if the Pubbies have the sense to nominate him. Young, personable, doesn't lose his cool when goaded by the vilest provocateurs. Most of all stands his ground without coming off as harsh or in your face. Wouldn't scare off the army that says "I'm fiscally conservative but socially liberal." Makes garage see red. He'll do.
When has garage ever seen anything other than red.
Okay, my bad, but ricpic started it!
I slept my way through college. But I got the degree! Course it took 8 years. :^O
Walker. Indictment. Any. Second. Now.
I don't think they're going to find much.
