Since this is an open thread, I'd like to mention and recommend a few books that I enjoyed on my kindle. I read them back in Nov when I was traveling for work. Probably more for the females, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading:
"Me Before You" by Jojo Moyes & "The Language of Flowers" by Vanessa Diffenbaugh

I think the beauty is in the combination of the unusualness of the phenomena and how noticeably different it from the usual.
