Dreamers Nightmare or Higher Calling

"In the Texas incident earlier this month, Border Patrol agents arrested six Mexicans — two adults, two 17-year-olds, a 16-year-old and the 12-year-old — smuggling more than 300 pounds of marijuana."

“They were carrying the marijuana on their backs and when arrested it was discovered that the 12-year-old boy had the heaviest load at 80 pounds,” the Border Patrol said in a statement describing the arrest."

The youngest was made to carry a bigger load. Do you think Phil Robertson would quote from Matthew 11:28-30
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Or would he take a different tack?

A Man and his son were once going with their Donkey to market. As they were walking along by its side a countryman passed them and said: "You fools, what is a Donkey for but to ride upon?"

So the Man put the Boy on the Donkey and they went on their way. But soon they passed a group of men, one of whom said: "See that lazy youngster, he lets his father walk while he rides."

So the Man ordered his Boy to get off, and got on himself. But they hadn't gone far when they passed two women, one of whom said to the other: "Shame on that lazy lout to let his poor little son trudge along."

The Man at last he took his Boy up before him on the Donkey. By this time they had come to the town, and the passers-by began to jeer and say: "Aren't you ashamed of yourself for overloading that poor donkey?"

The Man and Boy got off and tried to think what to do. At last they cut down a pole, tied the donkey's feet to it, and raised the pole and the donkey to their shoulders. They went along amid the laughter of all who met them till they came to Market Bridge, when the Donkey, getting one of his feet loose, kicked out and caused the Boy to drop his end of the pole. In the struggle the Donkey fell over the bridge and was drowned.

"That will teach you," said an old man who had followed them: "Please all, and you will please none."

You dont see that everyday... just saying.

I think Phil would probably object to these peoples' making money off others' misery, regardless of who carried what load.

Tack is having the ability to tell someone to go to hell, and have them actually look forward to going on the trip.

Phil would take a tack and stick each of the older guys in the butt for making the kid carry the heaviest load.

Phil beat GLADD in mortal combat.

Yeah. Can you dig it!

GLAAD has only suffered a flesh wound. They will be back. Stalinism is not defeated until the last Stalinist is actually dead.

Phil proceeds with grace.
A&E figures it out:
While Phil’s comments made in the interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the “coarse language” he used and the mis-interpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would “never incite or encourage hate.”

Meanwhile, GLAAD hits bottom, keeps digging.
GLAAD continues to take Phil's actual words in GQ and contort and distort them into something much more sinister in order to play the wounded victim.
Hacks.

GLAAD responds: “Phil Robertson should look African American and gay people in the eyes and hear about the hurtful impact of praising Jim Crow laws and comparing gay people to terrorists. If dialogue with Phil is not part of next steps then A+E has chosen profits over African American and gay people – especially its employees and viewers.”

It's all about publicity for your cause, isn't it? It's *necessary* to go all hyperbolic and twist and misrepresent what was said because you can get time on the air when mostly people ignore you because you're boring.

It's not real outrage, it's publicity outrage.

It's *just like* the outrage every time some singer books a gig for the wrong paying audience. No one in the whole world cares what some leader of a human rights group is up to, and instead of getting the word out about bad stuff going on (which most people pretty much know about but can't figure how to fix short of sending in Marines and no one wants to do that) they make a global stink about an A-list performer... OMG! Mariah Carey sang a concert!!! Shame! Apologize! Put me in the news!... instead of, as they should, thanking her for giving them an excuse.

(Also, they've a chance to win against her, too, and maybe raise some funds if they can shame her into donating her fee while never making a dent in the hard problem.)

GLAAD wins if they can force a front page apology from a celebrity or force an episode of re-education, which is why they usually pick on people on their own side.

Watch... they'll force Glee to grovel over something again after this, because this time they chose foolishly and Glee always works for them.

Phil should press the issue now that he has them on the run. If he can.

He should continue to speak out for the millions of main stream Christians who do not have a voice or the economic security to enable them to bear witness in such a public way.

It is called speaking truth to power.

May God protect him and his family.

That's right, Troop, and if God isn't around, they can use the shotguns.

Tack VS tact

It is a sailing reference. The pointed edge of a sail is tacked in the direction the boat is going so to zig-zag across wind the sail is tacked on the right then the left to maintain its course.

Tack VS track

Track is better because it does not zig-zag, relatively straight railroad line compared to a zig-zagging tack, and once on a track you're committed until you can sidetrack so choosing one track or another is vitally important whereas tacks on a lake or sea or ocean can be changed at will.

Tacks were strewn across the course halting the TdF.

But we should be talking about taxes. Dollahs taxes.
