'When Cheney Aproached The Light Turned Green For Him'

"Dick Cheney says his current health is "a miracle" in a frank discussion of the heart disease he suffered over his entire political career and especially when he served as the vice president."

"Two years ago, Cheney was gaunt, carried a sallow complexion and needed a cane to walk. Today, he says he's a new man and feels "fantastic." At 72, he says he has no real physical limits. "I fish. I hunt...I don't ski, but that's because of my knees, not my heart. So, it's been a miracle," he tells Gupta."

"Cheney had his first heart attack over 35 years ago and has been the recipient of many modern heart treatments that seemed to come along at just the right time. He even had a pump attached directly to his heart while awaiting a transplant. He knows luck played a big role in his life. He says Dr. Reiner once made an analogy between the course of Cheney's health and treatment and a person who gets up late and drives to work, but he sees all the traffic lights ahead are red. "'Cheney,'" he says the doctor told him, "'when you get to them, they all turn green.' And that's... a pretty good description," says Cheney."

That can be truly said of us all.

You can get a pacemaker that communicates with traffic lights.

May the same be true for some other folks I know.

Cheney suffered five heart attacks requiring multiple angioplasties and catheterizations, plus a quadruple bypass operation.

The generation before him, suffering the same issues or less? Dead.
Technology saves lives.
My grandfather could have lived another 10-20 years had the technology been available.
One of my uncles, who died with a bad ticker in his early 50's should have sought help. Bad tickers run in his family.
But at the time help wasn't a known quantity in a small town in WI.
My own father has a new lease on life due to the technology of stents. Now even betterr with built-in good juju.

Cheney is fortunate. He's also a smart man. Not everyone is smart enough to persevere under such difficult circumstances.
I suppose the left hate him for persevering. It's not fair, is it? Well, unless they are the ones who make the decisions. Who lives/who dies? The left will let you know. Here – fill out these IRS forms.

Look for medical advances to slow to a crawl starting...now. Thanks to compassionate O'care's stranglehold, what else?

Cheney can't be me.

He is not conservative enough.

Seriously.

Does it pulse? Why would it? I bet it's continuous like my aquarium pumps.

Turn up the knob for excitement. Turn down the knob to sleep.

After looking at all those pictures so many times and after reading all those words, even writing a paper in the 5th grade so far as drawing a detailed picture of a human heart for which I received an A, finally, after all that, a pop-up book showed me what is going on so that I see it.

Your heart has more tubes coming out of it than seems necessary, more chambers than required, and separations and valves because it is doing two separate things simultaneously.

That is, blood is not just going out and coming back in like I thought, no, it circulates by way of two systems united as one at the heart. One system is between lungs and heart, back and forth oxygenating the blood. The second system circulates blood throughout the body delivering oxygen and food to cells.

And it's brilliant!

It is not like squishing a water balloon with your hand. Rather it is like squishing a water balloon with both hands, alternating between them.

Squisha-squisha, squisha-squisha, squisha-squisha, squisha-squisha

Alive

The heart beats audibly when the book is opened to the first page, the breathing and blood page.

This is the plain non-pop up chart that shows two systems that arrested my attention and made it clear to me.

Oh! when you push the button on the cover, the brain blinks tiny lights.

Pop-up wise, it is not that great, fine, and competent, but not great, and information-wise it is great.

The doctors I've shown this book to seemed to be impressed with it. I recommend it for entertainment and for educational porpoises.

Given Cheney's health problems he NEVER should have been selected as VP.

Funny how both Bush and Bush II selected men who were completely unqualified to succeed them.

Its almost like they had no legacy to pass on.

Heart disease and strokes run in my family.

At age 53, I've stopped eating butter and I've cut way, way back on cheese.

I consider myself lucky to be able to do so.

I should add that there's no doctor's warning involved here. I just think it's a good idea.

I first started eating no-fat Greek yogurt maybe 1 1/2 or 2 years ago.

I thought it was disgusting. Revolting. Repugnant.

But now, I actually enjoy eating it and consider it a special treat.

And I consider myself lucky.

Bush II needed GRAVY-TAS. Thus, the gravy-eating soul-less evil old white man.
