The Names were changed to protect the Party.

TOP has a post called "Most Embarrassing Sentence in Major Media, 2013."

Upon reading the story from which the first nominee was pulled ...
But hanging in the air was an electrifying sense of being in the presence of an ascendant politician they believed understood the potential of the new digital world they were shaping.
and commenting about it (my comment is awaiting moderation as I write this) I had an idea.
Change the names of the characters to republican names, and a few other things that had to be changed, and see what happens.
The conference room in Wichita Kansas, headquarters of Koch Industries was packed with the stars of Big Oil & Gas, Top executives of Exxon Mobil, Ford, McDonalds, NASCAR and Coors gathered around a table; the billionaire David H. Koch looked on from a back row. The guest of honor: Scott Walker, the governor of Wisconsin.

The stated purpose of the gathering was to give Mr. Walker, already a gas guzzler fanatic, a seminar on tail-gating technologies. But hanging in the air was an electrifying sense of being in the presence of an ascendant politician they believed understood the potential of the new digital giant screens they were trying to get people away from and back to nature, hunting and fishing.

“He’s part of this tide,” said Linda McMahon, an entrepreneur who was at the meeting, in May 2009. “It feels like he’s one of us.”

Two and a half years later, some of those same Big Oil & Gas executives joined forces again on Mr. Walker's behalf. But this time, their efforts resulted in giving Mr. Walker, until then an admired outsider, the equivalent of full-fledged membership in their elite circle: an Oil field start-up of his own.

Mr. Walker personally has obtained money for the start-up, called WayPipe, from influential investors, including Pete Coors, Chairman of the Molson Coors Brewing Company. A year after its debut, WayPipe has already endured a round of layoffs and had just a minimum of drilling contracts keeping it afloat, according to Compost, an Oil & Gas tracking service. The company says it is still under development.

Yet in a financial disclosure filed last month, Mr. Walker, 45, revealed that his stake in the company was worth $1 million to $5 million. Taken together, his other assets were worth no more than $730,000.

Also heard that his 15 year old son was a director on the board, which was remedied immediately upon being published. It's only unseemly if people know.

They can't write about black Democrats without a thrill going up their legs, can they?

Well-spoken, properly pants-creased black men == electoral victories for evers!

Though his involvement in Waywire has been public since July 2012, Mr. Booker did not disclose his ownership interest in the company on his financial report filed with the city and only recently amended the federal form he filed as a candidate for the Senate to reflect his ownership. The spokesman, James Allen, said that the city form was amended Tuesday.

This sort of thing should make people ineligible to run for senate. And what's the rush? He should be trying for governor first.

Conflicts of interest can be swept under the rug and forgotten if you're a member of a certain party.

Here in CO, our R Secretary of State, Scott Gessler, has been harassed by The Denver Post. Harassed over 1,500 bucks. Money that he re-paid (even though he did not need to, as the expense was legit.)
Harassed over and over week after week as if he committed the crime of the century.
Meanwhile, our governor(D) has had numerous ethics complains lodged against him that have not once been mentioned at The Denver Post.
Seems the governor flew around the state picking up pals here and there, and the pals never paid for the trip. A requirement by law. NO mention is the Denver Post. Nothing.

Also, the Denver Post had no comment when it came to the 50 million dollar IRS party. They were too busy vilifying, bullying and harassing Scott Gessler.

Correction: August 7, 2013

An earlier version of this article gave an incorrect age for Scott Walker, the governor of Wisconsin. He is 46, not 45.

Lem, you're close, but you would also need to reframe Big Oil & Gas to something more like:

Venerated Energy Producers or Long-standing energy-making experts or Classic Energy Providers.

This is great Lem. You have written the Bizzaro world version of politics and harpooned the MSM suckups who know not what they write nor how it sounds outside their MSM bubble.
