Oh I wanted to leave a note so badly and I wish I had...
"This is a handicapped spot. Saw you and your girl run into Dane Smith. I'm assuming your handicap is mental illness?"
I had someone leave a sign on my windshield when I was doing surveillance. I was parked on a public, dirt road. My subject lived on the road and I had to park and hike through the woods to get a vantage point. The sign said, "This is my land. If I see you I will shoot to kill." It was left by a neighbor of my subject. And, I thought working in the 'hood was dangerous. I often wondered if the sign maker wasn't a meth cooker.
It's amazing how well it communicates his objection, his anger, the law and ethics while still being almost devoid of proper English. A native speaker couldn't do that if he tried.

They DID have a handicapped tag hung on the rear view mirror.
Maybe I'd have written... "Does the mental illness that allows you to park here belong to you or to your grandmother?"
